Mon, Wed, Fri - Weighted pullups, barbell curls, lots of both, I don't count or do 'sets' anymore, I just go until I can't Tues, Thurs, (sometimes Sat) - pushups, overhead press, boxing For abs I do hanging leg raises and planks whenever I feel like it, but really I think the cardio from the boxing has developed my abs more than any "targeted" exercise I don't do legs cause I have naturally gigantic Slavic thighs and also don't rly care about legs. My diet is also fairly strict, which helps keep…

It absolutely is not, but if there's anything I've learned from having fat friends and being a former skinnyfat who got fit, it's that advice about working out doesn't really do anything. Out of shape people know they need to get in shape, they just haven't been granted the inciting factor yet. Sometimes it's a health scare, sometimes they're just sick of being gross, wahtever. There's always some catalyst and it's very rarely some person telling them what they already know. So it's not insensit…

We're the same height, but I'm considerably skinnier than you (175), probably the same BF amount I just have much less muscle, so overall I say you win there brother. Yeah, I brought it up 'cause it just fucking sucks and shows that U.S. chicks and some EU chicks (I'm from Czech Rep) are kinda just implicitly racist without realizing it. I have good Middle Eastern and black friends who are better than me in all categories, but the ease of use with women is on my side for no reason. Doesn't seem …

lmao looks like I'm dropping a benjamin on a steak this weekend. I've never had a tomahawk tbh, but I do like bone marrow... Also this place is incredibly pretentious, but it's also one of the highest rated places in my area, so c'est la vie and all that shit.

I eat chicken every day, I was going to exclude that one too :( And yeah I'm not in the best place for seafood lol, even if it sounds appetizing it probably isn't as good as it would be on a coastline

Man sometimes it bugs me out how much hair/ethnicity have to do with dates. You and I have similar physical stats except I'm white and have a full head of hair, and I bet you're in marginally better shape, too. Every time I've approached a woman and had some kind of 'intuition' of it being a sure thing, it has been. Then again, I also haven't approached thousands of women, which sounds kind of crazy, but rejection rate is extremely low compared to yours, proportionally speaking. All of your bull…

There's only one (severely) fat guy in my friend group. He's a great dude but he doesn't understand that being fat makes him undesirable and is mired in normie tropes about how women should 'just like him for him' At first, me and my other friends all got on him about fitness. He never listened, so we just don't bring it up anymore. He gets the picture, and knows what he has to do, and I doubt he will ever do it.

Both bison and duck when done well are incredible. I have tons of conflicting feelings about eating meat, but I can't deny all these cute fuckers taste really good. Try rabbit and wild boar sometime -- like the above two, they are ridiculously good when made properly.

Okay, well, the Professor Emeritus of statistics at Yale doesn't seem to agree with you, and neither do a lot of other physicists and statisticians, as my links point out, but nah, you'd rather just do a "but I'm an X therefore I'm right", which is a non-argument. Good goin'. Also earlier you said "it does not imply causation" and now you're saying "it only implies a relationship", which is kind of what I already said in my first post if you had bothered to read (i.e. does not specify the nature…

Nice job ignoring the legitimate studies, first off. You asked for a correlation and afaik there's lots of correlations between high partner count and infidelity, as noted in the examples above, and I'm sure there's plenty more. And second, correlation sometimes does imply (and or suggest) causation.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/22 01:04 PM
12

So I don't really particularly care about n-count, and I don't think there's "proof", but I do think that nearly all the studies done on the topic have noted an increase in extramarital affairs when higher partner count is taken into consideration (for both men and women). Also I would like to point out that while correlation does not always equal causation, this notion has been bastardized and used as a "counter argument" when people feel like refuting something without actually refuting it. Ed…

'Cause it doesn't match our lived experience, and I can speak on some authority as a dude who has been many bodytypes. When I have and maintain a six pack and arm muscles, the amount and quality of women skyrockets, and it's not even close. I've been skinny, skinnyfat, slim-fit and ripped, and the difference between the four is astronomical. Women always suddenly liked me more when I was ripped. I was suddenly "more interesting" to them, just by default. Who woulda thought?

According to every poll I can find, Evans outclasses literally every other cast member and it's not particularly close. Might agree on Bucky Barnes, but don't see how that helps your argument, as Sebastian Stan is still roided out and ridiculously jacked in those movies.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 01:48 AM
1

Right, my argument wasnt about body types, I even agreed slimfit bodytypes being preferable to most women over ultra jacked dudes, I was contesting the specific examples, which I think are untrue on their face.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 01:27 AM
1

I did google the stats. There weren't any lmao I already agreed that they were thinner overall in the 60's. No one in their right mind considers 15% bodyfat "fluffy" or "gross", and it is considered very in shape by the vast majority of humans. I say this as a European person, who has lived in Europe and America, in large population centers. 15% body fat is traditionally very in shape, everywhere in the world.

Face matters. Evans has traditional good looking American guy action star face. Benedict has weird British actor face. Also Evans is significantly more in shape than Benedict, it's not even a competition. Also stop with the redpill shit. I argue with redpillers here more than anyone else. I am not even close to rp.

That list is not genuine, and includes Tropic of Cancer (which is not erotica, it's literature), Lolita, which is not erotica, and The Unbearable Lightness of Being, which is literature, and not erotica. That list includes anything with slightly erotic/romantic overtones and considers it "erotica", which I do not find compelling. Search erotic covers on google. It's either naked women, or jacked dudes, and I see no dudes who look like lanklets.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 01:12 AM
1

Ok, and? Thousands do that to Thor and Captain America, too. When it comes to trends and analytics, Hemsworth and Evans absolutely demolish Benedict and Loki.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 01:07 AM
0

Right, and just by the engagement numbers alone, in which Evans and Hemsworth get orders of magnitude more, it would be very statistically unlikely that a) all of those searches or even a majority of those searches are men, and b) that the dudes who receive orders of magnitude fewer searches would be considered more attractive to a larger percentage of the female population. Just doesn't add up.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 01:06 AM
1

I mean, I've always been a slim-fit tall lanklet, I don't care about muscles and agree with some of your premise, just those specifics don't ring true to me, and there's a reason why multi billion dollar companies have jacked traditionally good looking dudes as their money-makers, and not Hiddleston and Cumberbatch.

After (sadly) doing a bit more research, there's been polls on some of this stuff before, "hottest marvel character" and whatnot, tens of thousands of participants and votes, which means far more than anecdotes, and Evans is like always in the lead. I think to compare the attractiveness you would have to get rid of talent. Benedict is probably a more talented actor, but if he was just some guy on the street, I don't think he would be considered insanely good looking. Evans/Hemsworth would.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 01:02 AM
2

How many awards someone has, has zero to do with how attractive they are to however many people. My argument is that Evans and Hemsworth would be considered more attractive to more people than Loki and Benedict. This shouldn't be controversial, as it's kind of true on its face. Besides, there's like major twitter polls about this shit with thousands of votes and Evans always comes out on top, even beats out Hemsworth, so at least with him there are some real numbers there. I doubt more people wo…

I don't think that data means any more than box office numbers and social media follows, it's a much smaller subgroup of people you're talking about. I mean shit, look at google trends if you want pure numbers. Hemsworth has many orders of magnitude more searches than Hiddleston. Just purely by the numbers, that seems like a lot more engagement, and I don't think the "those are all men!" argument really works. Like statistically speaking, it seems really unlikely that a dude who gets orders of m…

Tom doesn't put as many butts in seats as Evans or Hemsworth. Look up box office numbers. There will be a huge disparity. I can't think of a single good movie by any of these people, to be honest, I am not talking about the subjective goodness of the films, I am talking about who more people go out to see, and it's objectively, by all the numbers available, Hemsworth and Evans. I'm not sure how we're supposed to talk about the mass appeal of these people without talking about their mass appeal l…

Right, and I am wondering how you know this besides "I know women who like X more" and "I am a woman". That's not really an authoritative metric, imo, kind of just seems like an opinion. Also didn't say much about the erotica covers, which are mass marketed to women, and they mostly have dudes that look like Thor, not Loki. Seems like the female gaze has plenty of buying power. I really don't think erotica searches are a good measurement anyway. Not anymore than box office numbers are, in which …
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 12:46 AM
2

Look man, if your argument is "I know soo many people who like X", and mine is the opposite of that, then we really have nowhere to go. I used one metric, which is social media popularity. But there's other metrics, too, like how Evans and Thor are genuine leads in the biggest movies ever, and Hollywoo is literally all about casting the most traditionally good looking people as leads. Benedict and Tom don't put nearly the same amount of butts in seats -- they are side characters. More people go …
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 12:44 AM

Loki and Benedict are also playing far more le edgy dark-type characters, so it makes sense that their fanbase would be more rabid, I just don't think it's nearly the same amount of people.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 12:40 AM
3

Yet the cover of virtually every erotica is a dude who looks a lot more like Thor than he does Loki. Also I don't think followers is any better of a metric than erotica searches. They both seem to be based on popularity. In which case, Thor only loses out a little in terms of erotica searches, but wins big in terms of overall popularity/eyes on him. Edit: I'm not RP lol, stop seeing boogeyman in every person who mildly disagrees with you

And Chris Evans doesn't? lol Benedict doesn't have social media so it's hard to compare, but considering how disparate the Loki/Thor numbers are, I'd reckon it's about the same. You're comparing a hyper jacked traditionally good looking dude to a niche taste skinny guy. Benedict seems to be doing just fine, which is why the "chicks only dig hyper jacked guys" argument is pretty stupid, but I sincerely doubt he beats out someone like Chris Evans in terms of pure numbers. Remove their fame, put Be…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 12:35 AM

Benedict Cumberbatch is not more popular than Chris Evans. I don't necessarily disagree than slim-fit is preferable to most women than ultra-jacked, but that one is untrue on its face. I don't think Tom Hiddleston is a bigger sex symbol than Chris Hemsworth either. Going by social media follows, Hiddleston has 11m, Hemsworth has 55mil... he is "more popular" by a factor of 5. I'm not sure how you went about equating their "sex symbolness", but by pure numbers, I don't think that part is true.

While people in the 60's were certainly much thinner overall, I think you're pulling that 40% number totally out of your ass, I'm pretty sure we don't have bodyfat statistics from the 1960's.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 12:20 AM

So your argument is that most people cannot maintain it, therefore it's realistic? When I said "realistic", I meant what most people could obtain without much fuss and or rigor. I also don't agree that "a lot of people maintain 10% bodyfat". No they don't. I have only lived in gigantic population centers with young populations and even most of them don't maintain 10% bf. That's ridiculous and untrue on its face, especially when you consider like 60-70% of people are fat, straight up. There's no …
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 12:17 AM

I think you can bump up that bf percentage for men. A man with 19-20% bf can still be attractive and considered in shape. 10% is nearly unreasonable and almost no people maintain that. 15-20% is far more realistic and most people still look good at around 20%.

I'm a dude. I don't keep telling anyone to touch grass. Being an avid outdoors person doesn't make you any better with women. Actually having a sense of self and self worth helps, though, and it seems you lack that significantly if all the other men you see are boogeyman Chads. You're clearly too far down this particular rabbit hole to see what's actually going on, which has everything to do with you and your own mental patterns and not the habits of other people.

Adaptation has a ridiculously good cast all around, and I would argue Jonze's directing is more impressive than Kaufman's writing, so just not with you on this one.

Wow, three whole bars! Your weird direct comparisons to other people show that you severely lack self esteem, and for whatever reason lionize complete strangers. Getting women isn't some impossible task given to only the select few. This is the view of someone who hasn't had life experiences with women because of innate boo-hooness.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 04:41 PM
1

You're just regurgitating the plot development, not what the movie is about or its themes, those are different things. I don't think the themes are that difficult to understand either, but it doesn't seem like you've grasped them if this is your take.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 04:36 PM
1

No, Jonze had final cut on Adaptation, not Kaufman, it's a Spike Jonze movie, just like Eternal Sunshine is a Michel Gondry movie, not a Charlie Kaufman movie. I don't think you understand just how little sway even "powerful" writers have in Hollywoo, i.e. almost none. I think if you watch Adaptation and think it's only about 'look at meta I am', you're totally missing the larger themes of the movie and are willingly ignoring everything its about.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 04:28 PM
1

I'm with you on Woody but Adaptation isn't about 'look how meta I am', that's just a dishonest and base interpretation of that movie thematically speaking, and also Adaptation was directed by Spike Jonze, Kaufman didn't start directing until Synecdoche New York.

What you said makes too much sense, I doubt a guy like that would listen. He went to a single bar and concluded all bars everywhere must be Chad-vaganzas full of "shallow average women". Dudes like this have no interest in self improvement or making it better for themselves, they just want to rage against the machine, so to speak.

When did I say it was a recent fad? I literally said we've been talking about it forever and linked a thread from seven years ago. Weird way to start. It is not "almost universally" observed in ungoverned systems. You are thinking of generalized uneven distributions, most of which are not pareto distributions. If they were, we wouldn't have a nice clean spick and span wikipedia page that goes over pretty much all current examples of pareto applications. While there are many phenomena that can be…

The issue is that a pareto distribution, by definition, means that 80% of outcomes are due to 20% of causes. I don't think we have nearly enough data to make that claim about dating or casual sex. Your last paragraph does not necessarily point to a pareto distribution, just an uneven distribution.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/22 06:10 PM

The point is we don't know, not "I know". We don't know who is having the casual sex at what rates, full stop. The best analysis we have is from 2010 and could have changed a lot from there. I don't think introducing new meanings of 80/20 helps anyone understand sexual dynamics any better, it just muddies the waters with ever-varying interpretations of a false figure. That was really my main gripe with the post. > If you can get a woman to marry you, but she isn’t actually attracted to you, did …

Ever thought about "I don't know" as the honest, accurate answer? We don't know. There's lots of stuff we don't and can't know. We might be able to get some sort of "relation satisfaction" survey going eventually, in which case you don't need billions of participants (as 100's of thousands is generally good enough to perceive larger trends in big populations), and even then, it would have to be replicated numerous times before being any type of "truth". So right now, we don't know. You feel a ce…

Yes, "you seriously doubt" and "believe" things, and you do this based on your own personal feelings. Okee dokee, I feel you don't know what you're talking about and are just saying stuff for the sake of it. Using 80/20 even when it could potentially be 60/40 or any other number is really, really dumb.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/22 04:55 PM

AFAIK, the 80/20 meme became popular because of bad faith interpretations of dating app stats. I've been on these gender battle forums for a while, I don't remember anything about it until the OKC stats. Could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that's where it came from as all evidence points that way...

Whether or not it's a large or small minority is kind of a big point, though. There's a huge difference between 20% and 49%.

If you want to believe Susan Walsh's number, something like that, although there's still a whole 20% of casual sex not accounted for. Her application of pareto for casual sex participants was done in 2010, though, things could have changed since then, but afaik no one has actually conducted any thorough analysis on this since then.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/22 04:46 PM

The OP is still based off anecdotes and does not represent reality. We have absolutely no idea what percentage of men are having "interactions they want" with women. Whether it's 20% or 30% or 40% is a complete guess, based on nothing but "I feel this way" and "I think it's this way because of people I know in my insulated little bubble of the world".

The 80/20 thing is one of the most misinterpreted concepts here and has been spoken about for literally years. The 80/20 rule as it is talked about on this sub absolutely comes from interpretations (usually bad ones) of OLD (okcupid and tinder) stats, in which it was determined the bottom 80% of men (in terms of attractiveness) are competing for the bottom 22% of women and the top 78% of women are competing for the top 20% of men. It had to do with match ("like") percentages, and had absolutely …

Depends on the individual. But being in a happy relationship has all sorts of immediate benefits. Loneliness is a killer, and we have tons of numbers that point toward perpetual long-term singledom not being particularly good for humans.

This seems to be the prevailing opinion for both sides, and I just have never understood it. Even when it hasn't worked out, pretty much every person I've dated has been a lovely human with only a couple of exceptions. By and large though, all cool, good people. At a certain point you have to start wondering if its a curmudgeon-y woe-is-me mindset poisoning the waters, rather than "all the other people/options are bad". The dating world is just fine if you genuinely like other humans.

Maybe it's just 'cause I lived in LA, Prague and PHX, but I just don't see it. If a woman is hot at 25 and stays in shape, she's usually still hot at 35. At most she goes from an 8 to a 7, but even that I don't see much. 8's stay 8's well into their 30's if they don't let themselves go.

No, you cannot. There is no formula for attractiveness. Measuring facial symmetry does not give you some solid number of how many people would find those characteristics attractive, nor would it give you a certain number on a 1/10 scale. What the fuck are you talking about lmao You remind me of this dumbfuck here who thought he was superior because he only read non fiction books (also retarded). Kind of funny considering you don't even know what the word objective means.

How can attractiveness be objective? Lmao, maybe learn words. Objectivity requires it to be true outside of sentient observation. When rating looks, we are ipso facto observing someone. It is an opinion. subjective. I made no ridiculous claims, and you made no good arguments. That's PPD for ya.

I will definitely agree with you on the genericity, but a generic hot white girl is still hot, and I don't really think the wall approaches at 30 or anywhere near 30. 40 I can see. 30 makes no sense to me.

CZJ was never a 10. She was an 8.5/9. See how subjectivity works? 10's don't really exist. They are all just 9's with inexplicable personal preference thrown in. You can't actually realistically explain why she's a 10. You just happen to think so. I.e., at the upper echelons of hotness, it all comes down to interpersonal ratings. 7/9's are not a dime a dozen, and it literally makes you top tier attractive to be in that category. And still more than 1 in 100, 30 - 35 women are 7/9's.

10's don't really exist, 10's are just 9's that people prefer for inexplicable reasons, so it's really 7/9. I think Alison Brie is a 10, but most people probably think she's an 8/9, and I can't really explain why I think she's a 10. Same goes for every woman you'd put that high. I don't "gas up" anyone, 7/9's are attractive and nearly everyone but weirdos like you thinks so. Perennially embittered dudes like you are my favorite laughing stock of this sub, though, so please, keep it coming. You d…

I think 7-10 is appropriately hot, and you're just assuming what my standards are. I find all fat women repulsive, and even 'thicc' chicks almost always are complete no-go's for me. I've only ever lived in huge west coast U.S. cities, or in cities where women are internationally renowned for being hot (i.e. Prague). My standards are often considered too demanding to even my closest friends, so no, you're way off base. Just seems like you don't go outside and see women all that much. There's an a…

/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/22 08:06 PM

Same age as you pretty much, but this depends on where you live. In giant metropolitan relatively fit areas, the majority of 30-35 year old chicks are still hot. When I was still on the apps I saw dozens of them daily. Sure, looks drop off for some, but that's generally around 40-45, not 30.

IMO 'hoe' is a derogatory term. I've only ever heard men call women 'hoes' when they are judging her whole character and personage based on a single facet of her behavior, which seems silly and kind of fucked up to me. I prefer 'promiscuous'.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/22 06:37 PM

'She's a hoe' is a bit too judgmental for my taste. I don't judge people for enjoying sex or being sexually liberal, which is why I wrote it like that.

I've been in two threesomes - one was a heat of the moment thing with an ex and a German chick we met at a hostel in Japan, the other was a planned ordeal with two chicks I met at a concert. Both were fun in their own ways, but I don't really seek out threesomes or care about them, and that I think is the rub. If I met a chick who was "into threesomes", I would be a bit cautious, it likely means she's up for being sexually frivolous too often for my tastes. If I met a chick who has been in a few…

There's a bunch of different types of truths. There's objective truths and axiomatic truths and normative truths and historical truths. We're talking about objective truth, i.e. the Earth orbits the sun and the other examples I already gave. The easiest ones to understand are cosmological, but there's tons of others. Also, in order to determine objective truths, it only has to be true outside of sentient observation, which we've already been over*.* It doesn't necessarily require a corresponding…

It is not. You did not describe once what quantification you used. You listed no measurements. You did not say why or how certain morals are "good" or "bad", or how you quantify certain moral rules. You listed an opinion based argument, which is called subjectivity. You listed one example which had very little to do with objectivity, and it did not include any sort of quantification. Math is not imprecise, and once again, is a discovery of phenomena, it is not made up out of the ether. I agree t…

You're changing the subject. This started with your claim that morality is both "subjective and objective". You have yet to explain how this can be the case, and you have yet to explain how morals themselves can be objective. You have to explain how "some morals can be objective, while others can't." Your answer so far is: "it's very complex", which, I'm sorry, is fallacious and a cop out and not an answer. And you apparently missed the point anyway. Triangles exist without the need for human mi…

If you don't believe math describes objective phenomena, then we have nowhere else to go, as it clearly does, and has forever now, and I find all the positions that th…

No. You do not need instruments to measure the orbital dynamics of the moon. You can do it solely with math, just like you can calculate the distance of the moon from Earth using only math. There is no imprecision in correct math. How is it a ubiquitous observation when there have been groups that have slaughtered each other, and gone down to zero members? And what does that say about the 'objective' morality of it? We were talking about the morality of the acts, as you said at the start (incomp…

What is imprecise about the orbital measurements of the moon? Either way, that wasn't my claim. My claim was that the moon orbits the Earth, which is true in every circumstance, not the exact velocity and orbital dynamics of the moon. Either way, they are not imprecise, and we can perfectly calculate how the moon orbits, so much so that we can predict exact positions of the moon. You cannot do this with morality, even a little. I can subjectively find it wrong and distasteful and truly fucked up, but that does not mean it is objectively immoral. What? Tell me which morals are "objective", then, and tell me how you "know" they're objective. Should be pretty simple, as you seem very sure of yourself. Game theory can effect our attitudes towards certain moral and ethical values, but that doesn't make those values objective. Once again, the very definition of the word is true without sentient observation. That's what it means for something to be objective.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/22 07:38 PM

"What they want usually" < --- How is this objectivity? "Usually" and "objective" are practically antonyms. If something is "usually" culturally satisfying or seen as "good" to the majority, how does that make it objective? That means in some cases, it's not. There are still sentient observers making those claims. They are outside the realm of objectivity. They are subjective. But I said every person dying in their sleep, not just some people. Everyone being dead means the amount of human suffer…

Who says that the goal of morality is to have the lowest net suffering? This is a Sam Harris argument, a form of utilitarianism. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that people too unimaginative to create their own characters and worlds almost always have shit prose. Anyone who writes fanfics isn't a "dope" writer. Fanfiction is the antithesis of good writing, which includes creating your own characters and worlds and themes, not copying them from other people's work. I never complained, though, and you couldn't point it out when I asked. The moment you find the stats, you'll realize they don't say what you think they do. Don't buy it. This is basic probability theory and Bayesian statistics. We can only go with what our priors are telling us. Individuals have their own 'spark generation' criteria, and I don't think 'spark generation' is gendered. It is individually defined, not defined by gender. Getting dates is easier for women, therefore they are probabilistically more likely to find a spark. The more dates a single person can procure, the more likely they are to find potential sparks. All of the instant sparks I've had with women were met with long relationships or at least long dating scenarios, yet never has an "awkward" first date ever amounted to anything. Interpersonal rapport. Like-mindedness. The chat just flows. It "feels" right. You don't have to force anything. There is a natural "spark". This study, which is paywalled, but this article is an analysis, seems to think that in more egalitarian societies, men are more likely to be interested in educated, intelligent women. That probably translates to "competence" in a lot of areas, but there's no research I can find that targets "competency" directly. Personally I like smart women who are good at shit. The fact is you have no stats to confirm your view. Your anecdote might be that you've "observed" enough in your life for this to be true to you, and my "observation" is there is no way it could be true, as it does not line up with my experiences. We could have an anecdote battle and that's it. The 80/20 rule as it is talked about on this sub absolutely comes from interpretations (usually bad ones) of OLD (okcupid and tinder) stats, in which it was determined the bottom 80% of men (in terms of a…

Niche tastes and criterias exist, so you're right, but what people here are generally speaking about are statistical probabilities. I.E. if you have feature X, there is a greater or lesser likelihood of that feature being considered attractive to X amount of people. What this kind of view tends to reject and overlook is that there are many millions of men (myself included) who fall into niche categories that do just fine with dating. To the incels and hardcore blackpillers on this sub, these men…

How is you saying "it's not much" out of context? You pushed back on that point a lot, it seems. You seem to think it's "not much" and called upper middle class incomes "mediocre". Median home price in LA, one of the most expensive cities on the planet, is 921,494. ..a $1-2M house is a rundown 50+ year old house by a major highway here Where? I guarantee you this isn't the case. If you think these places are "rundown", yup, pampered beyond belief.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/22 03:08 AM
1

Well I never really took contention with your reasoning about the OF, just your original phrasing of 300k being "not much", which is dumb as shit and crazy. How am I delusional? In a few years you have millions of dollars. Where in the world are houses going for multi millions of dollars on average? Even in LA, SF and NY, the average cost of a house is 1 - 2 mil. After saving, you could have that in a few years with a salary of 300k. It's not delusional, it's called math.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/22 02:48 AM
1

I am reading exactly what you're saying, words like "it's not that much" and "won't take you far". I was taking contention with that phrasing, which reads like the phrasing of trustfund kids I know. Calling upper middle class lifestyles mediocre = you're spoiled With 300k over a few years you can absolutely get an incredible house anywhere in the world. it's called saving.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/22 02:34 AM

There are no markets where 300k doesn't take you "that far" unless you absolutely suck shit with money. That doesn't exist. You could be in London or Zurich or Geneva or wherever and that would still be an upper class to upper middle class salary.

300k annually would provide you a good life anywhere in the world (and still put you in the top 10% of earners) and an insanely great life in most places outside of NY/SF. I don't think OP is right that 90% of people would take this deal, but it's certainly enough to make it enticing for pretty much anyone. So instead of telling him the reality of the situation -- i.e. your ROI will suck dick and it will be extremely difficult, but not impossible -- your answer is "it's impossible, just give up?" Love and mutual intimacy are genuinely impossible for some people, like truly deformed people, for instance. This guy is slightly shorter than average height and has pretty good stats otherwise. I dont see how it matters if what I said is true concerning low N women. There is no "vetting better" if even the low N women are going for the tippy top of the tippy top, and they are, and that means even 5-8/10 men are likely not going to be the best or best looking sexual partner. I dont show my wallet or my stability since I make 50k a year and travel a lot ie not stable. Not sure why youre making random assumptions about how I do things based off cursory reddit comments.

Just because she's had casual sex a few times doesnt make her promiscuous imo. We have different opinions and life experiences. The chick I was talking about has fucked like 11 people total and she's 30. I dont consider that slutty even a little. She was just extremely picky about her casual sex partners. That's the rub.

Women having sex sometimes doesnt make them promiscuous. What I said would still be true even with low numbered chicks. Low numbered and ultra selective chicks probably have a higher likelihood of sleeping with some gigaChad than sluts do, given their pickiness. Also if the girl is hot enough and cool and does whatever I say in the bedroom, I really couldnt give a shit about her numbers if I find them arbitrarily reasonable. This is a legit tough one. Ok, and? Fantasy is a genre known for being camp, low effort and shit. Like I said, there's like a few good ones per decade, whereas there's a ton of good movies in every other genre category per year.

So your hypothetical is "you get to fuck your celebrity crush but you dont cum" That isnt how I interpreted your post, really. Doesnt read like that. In any case, I would still quickly get unfulfilled and frustrated with it. So like I'd probably do it once just to say I fucked X Celeb, but then probably never again. Not a super appealing deal.

Emily Blunt in Sicario. Incredible female lead. Not scifi or fantasy, but a believable and great role nonetheless. And there's tons of great female leads in general these days. Natalie Portman in Annihilation, Amy Adams in Arrival, Charlize Theron in Mad Max (she is the protagonist regardless of what the title suggests) The real issue is that most scifi and fantasy are camp trash and only a few good ones come out in a decade. Most of the male leads are fucking terrible in scifi or fantasy movies…

Lol have you ever had sex? A chick getting you off feels about a million times better than masturbation. Not really the same thing at all. Memory doesn't cut it. As said, would much rather fuck a 7 that is enthusiastic about getting me off than a bombshell I can't cum with.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/21 01:26 AM

Would not take this deal. Cumming is cool and not cumming is not cool. Rather just fuck a 6/7/other attainable chick I can cum with. Fucking ScarJo would be cool and all but taking out the climax of sex would be, dare I say, anticlimactic, not to mention stupidly frustrating/unfulfilling.

Movies are shit first dates and only a dummy would suggest one. I say this as a person who worked in film for six years and loves movies. Honestly I think they're kinda a shit date in general, at least during the honeymoon period. You're supposed to be going out and getting to know one another and having fun, not sitting in a dark room.

You saying "they're not comparable" isn't an argument. You saying "they're not the same level" but not being extrapolate on that isn't an argument. It's the lack of an argument. Because you don't have an argument. You haven't read the fiction books with history in them, so how the fuck would you know? Your problem here is that I genuinely read both fiction and history. I am way more qualified to talk about this than you. There are a metric fuck ton of history books that can actively teach you hi…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/21 03:33 AM
2

'Cause if you read a single history book and go "all of this is true", then you're retarded. Reading a fictional book with a lot of history in it is the same thing as reading a history book with a lot of history in it. You still need to read more in order to verify the claims therein. They both lead you to seek out other sources. There's things in fiction books you would never know about, history and real shit, that you would never seek out otherwise. Bet you've never heard of Ubertino of Casale…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/21 03:26 AM

You clearly don't read. No one who reads consistently has this bad of logic, or knows this little about books. Not all books are Game of Thrones. That's a false equivalence. You wouldn't know this, because again, you don't read. You can't possibly say you know the contents of books you haven't read. So you don't actually know how much history or reality or fact is in them or not. I don't read or watch fantasy at all, so nice try, but also shit try.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/21 03:21 AM
2

Nah, it's about what you learn, that's what books are. And you can legitimately learn history from fiction. You wouldn't know this because you don't read.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/21 03:12 AM
4

So just ignore the point, huh? Name of the Rose has more history in the first fifteen pages than the fake books you're claiming to be reading. So does Lincoln in the Bardo. So do a thousand others. Mostly written by men. No one who actually reads has this bad of logic.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/21 03:08 AM
3

Once again, there are fictional books (thousands upon thousands of them) that contain actual history in them. This is reality, which you seem to love so much. You don't read tho, so how would you know? Also a pretty shitty argument considering that most of the great fiction writers are all men.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/21 03:04 AM
9

You've posted this exact same rant before and it's still retarded. There are some fiction books with more history in them than actual history books. You wouldn't know this because you don't actually read, you just like to gatekeep about reading (something you clearly don't do) Kinda sad tbh.

"Further" than sex? No, sex is called shit like "homebase" and "consummation" for a reason. It is the ultimate form of intimacy and liking someone and there is nothing beyond it. No amount of "romantic gestures" will ever equal fucking someone. So pretty much, yes. If you're not getting sex out of the girl and you just do a bunch of shit for her cause you "like her", you're a simp. It would not and this is one of Pussy's troll positions. Most of the time you cannot functionally tell the difference between a 22 year old and a 26 year old. He is placing an arbitrary number on it to infuriate people, not because his actual cut off is 22.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/21 01:15 AM

Okay, simps and cucks do one sided "romantic" things for women, and those "romantic" things aren't romantic unless it is mutual. If there is a couple of people and they are mutually attracted to one another, an outing is ipso facto romantic. You could go to a fuckin Burger King and that can be "romantic". The thing that makes something "romantic" is mutual attraction, aka wanting to fuck one another. The vast vast vast majority of humans like sex. So okay, if you want to squabble about outliers,…

Romance? Romance and sex are interrelated. Romance leads to sex. No one does anything "romantic" unless it leads to sex. The difference between a romantic dinner and a dinner is the sex or lack thereof that you have afterwards. Cuddling is physical intimacy which you said wasnt allowed in your OP. Either way, its not nearly enough to consider cuddling someone "being in a relationship" with them. That's not "being with them". "Being with someone" means fucking them.

Its not about the appeal, that's what you're missing. We fucked in the car cause it was a heat of the moment decision and we were both too tipsy to drive. That's really it. Funny that you're going back to the Korean War and Vietnam to make your point. Neither of those wars has a big effect on today's economy and you know it. Because incompetence has nothing to do with whether or not humans deserve a dignified life, or whether or not they deserve universal care (shelter, clothes, food, water, medicine). Once again, if we left individuals up to this judgement, we would be doomed. Luckily, most sane societies do not. Incompetence is not the fault of the individual. Not really possible to know what other animals experience. What we can know is that it is like something to be that creature. You have too little experience with cats to have an educated opinion. You have one mediocre cat and extrapolate that to all cats. This is silly and I will defend their feline honor. I love dogs btw. Good dogs are equal to good cats.

Nah, I just lived with a guy who had four cats, and lived with an ex who had three, and moved into other places that had cats. Most of them have been cool. Met plenty of awesome female cats. The sweetest gentlest cat I ever met was a Russian blue girl. Not as cool as Waffles, but far gentler, less wild, and very sweet, a close second in personality. Most of the time when I have picked out cats at shelters, there is a checklist I've filled out, then they try to match you with the best cat. Affect…

Not all cats are like that, or NACALT. I have lived with dozens of cats over the years and they have all been different. Lived with a cat a few years back named Waffles. This little motherfucker was a puppy. He was the most affectionate amazing creature I have ever experienced and I grew up with dogs. Little dude followed me around all the time, so much so I would sometimes trip over him trying to get around the house. He just loved me. We fell asleep together every night. He never left my side …

"War movie" is a pretty expansive genre. Waltz with Bashir is one of my favorites. The Wind that Shakes the Barely is great and no one ever talks about it. Come and See is a masterpiece. Beasts of No Nation is another masterpiece. Ran, another masterpiece, although not set during a historical war like the others. Honestly war movies overall have a really good track record. Most of them I've seen, Full Metal Jacket, Saving Private Ryan, Thin Red Line, most WWII/Vietnam movies, all very good.

No, objective truths exist. The vast majority of professional philosophers accept realism about the world, meaning that there are things (facts about these things) that hold independent of our subjective attitudes. If there's a pile of 13 equally sized rocks, they cannot be placed into two rows of equal length. That's objectively true with or without sentience. Same as the Earth revolving around the sun -- true without humans. Same as the sun being the only star in our solar system. All objectiv…

How can someone's attractiveness be independent of context? Being able to judge someone's looks is necessarily dependent on context.

'More objective'? I'm pretty sure you don't know what that word means. Something is either objective or not -- it is a binary. Something cannot be 'more objective' lmao. > A proposition is considered to have objective truth when its truth conditions are met without bias caused by a sentient subject. That's all it means. Nothing more or less. 'More objective' is gobbledygook nonsense talk. The scores are useless because subjectivity exists. You can keep using words wrong and not understanding wha…

Your experience is not really a universal, though. I went through a similar thing of never getting laid to getting laid sometimes, and I already disagree with your first bullet point. Almost all of my FWBs have been really cool people and I liked being around them. You shouldn't conflate your shitty casual sex partners with all casual sex partners -- it is possible to find casual sex partners that you enjoy being around, and it's really not even all that difficult.

Addy is genuinely amazing and that is the main problem with it. Every time I've taken it I felt like a God and never wanted it to stop. As far as abuse potential goes, addy is right at the top. Unfortunately it tanks your liver and is way too easy to get addicted to, so pretty much a no go for anyone who doesnt want to be a drooling addict. Nah man, 5 men can get laid. It is literally only the absolute dregs and super bottom tier men who can't. Like I said in another post, ALL of my short and minority friends get laid sometimes. They're not casanovas, they're not slaying pussy like there's no tomorrow, but they still get laid sometimes. And it all came down to gym and/or money. The incel rhetoric on this sub is not reality. Average men get laid.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/21 11:09 PM

Your other life stats matter. And if youre not even remotely sociable or have other sociality issues, yeah, gym wont help. If youre insanely short, gym wont help. If youre like bottom 5-10% of facial attractiveness, gym wont help. Gym helps 90-95% of guys but there are no perfect systems. It is still easily the best suggestion to give for low value men in order to boost their chances.

Incels can be in prior relationships. Nothing about my definition prevents that. You are not the gatekeeper of definitions. The definition is literally involuntarily celibate. Stop gatekeeping. Your definition is not the only definition. As it is defined everywhere else, it means involuntarily celibate. The individual decides what that means to them, not you. In my case, I think any young man with a normal sex drive who doesnt have sex for months/years even though he wants to, well that's an incel. Pretty simple.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/21 10:04 PM

I was involuntarily celibate from ages 22-24. That's what incel means. So yes, I certainly was. Incel does not mean virgin or virgin forever. It just means that I was celibate involuntarily.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/21 09:54 PM

Again, there were mitigating circumstances. Those chicks were with me because I was safe, not because they actually liked me. Also beside the point. I was still an incel for almost three years of my sexual prime. Please learn to read.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/21 09:48 PM

For two years I wasnt looked at by women. Then I improved myself and was looked at. How is this difficult to figure out? Two LTRs in very young adulthood means nothing, especially when almost everyone around me was doing much better with more attractive women. Incel does not equal forever virgin. I was in those LTRs due to luck and knowing those chicks from my hometown, not because women gave me the time of day, which they absolutely didnt back then.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/21 09:33 PM

2 year long relationships in my early 20's and couldnt get pussy outside of that. Not exactly stellar for a person in his early 20's going to one of the biggest unis on Earth. Why? Cause I was skinny fat and couldnt do the requisite work to not be that. When I did, getting women became easier. Not rocket science. Also I did mention that between 22-24 I did not get any women, aka was technically an incel those years. So maybe learn to read.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/21 09:27 PM

This is absolutely true and it's sad to see some younger guys here be completely devoid of hope. 18-21 I was in a couple (2) LTRs. One or two brief flings in four years of college after the LTRs ended. Very little casual stuff in my mid 20's. Nothing, zilch, zero around 22-24. And that comparison to preestablished averages is not true in every circumstance independent of sentient observers. Therefore it is not objective. 'Typically agree' still isn't objective. The problem is you're using the word to mean exactly what it isn't. The only way something is objective is when it's always true, in every circumstance. "Near universally" is the opposite of 'objectively true'. "Typically agree" is the opposite of objectively true. If there are 13 rocks of equal size, it is obj…

All those things still require sentient observation. Attraction is like the polar opposite of objective. You can measure those things all you want. How can it be objective? Attraction requires a sentient observer. I seriously think like most people on the internet (and especially here) don't know what that word means. Objective means it's true outside of sentient observation -- the Earth revolves around the sun, is a good example. It is impossible for attraction or anything related to human attraction to be objective since they are all reliant on sentient observation. It's really not that hard. As I expected, this is super vague and doesn't actually tell you anything. The question is how does the algorithm they're using "study" and "test" this? Presumably there is a giant cache of preselected photos that the people who made the site are using and labeling "attractive", then the algorithm arbitrarily scores those based on the preselected photos. Unsure how that tells you how attractive you are, it is just basing this off other photos. If it's not doing this, it's probably something even…

I never said face doesn't matter, I said it doesn't matter as much as height or musculature, and the literature agrees. All things being equal, those two things reign supreme. Convincing women to like someone they don't like isn't a thing. Grow up. Wingmanning only works when the chick is already into the guy. A wingman can make it happen quicker by building the dude up, or letting the dude shoot his shot, but he can't create lust or like when it's not there. It's not like you can 'wingman' enough to magically make a chick like a guy she isn't into.

Not sure why one night and or one transgression makes me a "bad friend", though. Seems kinda dumb when there's fifteen years of history here. I didn't ditch him, I even went home with him at the end of the night when I could have easily stayed at her apartment and told him to fuck off lol

Fair enough, this does seem to be pretty contentious, and the replies I've gotten have been really all over the place, both here and AITA. Seems like there's lots of conflicting views and I have no problem hearing the other side out. I could have definitely played this a lot better, although I think my friend could have as well.

Yes, normie is how I always act. That's not "acting charming" or whatever. I'm not going to completely change my behavior just so my friend can get laid. Also this was after he had already spoken to her for an hour alone after buying her a drink. I think if a girl likes a guy she'll go for that guy, and wingmanning has nothing to do with it.

Why would I want to not fuck the hot girl that wanted to fuck me? Just because my friend also wanted to fuck her? I've been in LTR's where friends I've known wanted to fuck my GF. Should I have broken up with my GF's just 'cause my friends wanted to fuck her, for the sake of their feelings? Are you nuts?

I'd like to read that, too, although I've lived in two major US metros and two large European cities, and I haven't noticed too much of a difference tbh.

Last point is technically fair enough. I could have veered off entirely, but she was pretty hot, and probably the only time a woman will speak to me first in a bar setting. Couldn't really let that opportunity slip by for the sake of his 30 year old feelings.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/21 06:46 PM

She spoke to me first. Should I have just told her to shut the fuck up? lol Also I don't know what "acting charming" is. She sat next to me on purpose, and I was acting like I always do, which is, you know, normie-ville. I think your comment presupposes that the girl has no choice in this matter if the guy "wingmans well enough", which I think is nonsense. I think she is a human and liked me better, and this is one night out of the year, it's not like every woman would choose me over him. That's…

It was more of a casual dating thing with redhead, not an exclusive relationship, and I did say this in another comment. The story was long enough without any addendums, just wanted to keep it brief as possible and it's still too long without the added stuff. I mean, what do you mean 'intentional'? Did I intentionally want to fuck this girl? Yes. Did I intentionally give my friend a bunch of space to shoot his shot? Also yes. Still unsure why her clearly being into me and not him is my fault. I said this in another comment, but historically there has been very little overlap in the women we're interested in. Like, we both like attractive women, obviously, but the women who are into us have always been very different Him and I spoke about this exact point, actually, and it's like ... we've been out a million times together before and this has never happened, especially when I've been in committed LTR's (most of my 20's) or he has been. How else am I supposed to say it? I stared at the floor for multiple hours that night listening to them talk, doing nothing. She told me she thought I was cute within ten minutes of sitting next to me and she initiated conversation about my hat when speaking to the creepy dude.

I mean, this is one of my best friends in the world, we (used to) talk all the time, he already knew I had a FWB because I told him about it weeks prior.

I did explicitly do this, at a gas station before going to her place. He decided to stick around anyway despite being fuming mad at me, which, yes, effected his behavior for the rest of the evening.

I let him get her a drink, I immediately dropped my convo with her when he came up to talk to her and I let them speak for an hour+ alone without me or creepy guy interfering. Maybe I am a bad wingman, but I'm not sure how anything I did that night proves it. I let him have his moment many times over and she just wasn't into it.

Didn't hide it from him. Like I said in another comment, I pullled him aside after the bar before we went to her place. She wasn't interested in him, how is that me letting him down? It's not my job to make sure someone is interested in my friend, even if I did go with the intention of getting him laid. I posted this story on AITA during summer (with a near 50/50 opinion split in the comments), but I would rather PPD's thoughts on this. In June I went out with my good friend of 15 years to this thing called First Friday. It's like a big art festival on the first Friday of every month. My friend had been down on his luck recently, and I was in a FWB situation with a girl I met from bumble, so decided to go out with him to see if I could wingman or pull anything for him. It's the other way around. People don't read because they are boring and tedious, not because books are. Books are the only way to actually learn stuff about the world in any meaningful fashion.

Yes, it is everyone else in the world who is boring and bad, but you are the "light in a dark room" lmao You have five dates and aren't excited about any of them. Totally lost me, especially with the last bit. Astrology is just the Barnum effect. The sign descriptions themselves are too vague to have any meaning. I'm not sure how your personality can be "gently shaped toward" vague descriptors that can fit anyone. Also like half your paragraphs are about seasons -- so is it reversed if you're in Australia? How does that work? Does astrology only apply to countries in the Northern Hemisphere, or...? What?

Seems like you can't even explain what it means clearly, aka it's gibberish. It's not like there are entire fields dedicated to studying the use of habits to control behavior, or how sleep, exercise, and eating choices can control your neurology and are crucial for making life changes stick. This has nothing to do with having free will or not. It has nothing to do with "control". Changes can be made. It doesn't mean you are controlling anything. Which "fields of neurobiology" is this again? Lmao…

My ONS and FWBs have been all over the place, no real common thread. I like all types. But somehow 3/6 of my LTRs have been olive skinned Sicilian virgos (all Sicilian, too, like, family straight from Sicily), the other 3 were pale white artsy rail thin virgos. Astrology is plainly bullshit, but I still find it funny. Like, what are the fuckin odds? My preference is a different story. No, I edited for it to say 'directly or indirectly' ... either way, how do you indirectly "control' something? That's an incomprehensible statement. It makes no sense. If it's indirect, you're not doing it lmao. How do you indirectly control something? The word 'control' implies that it is direct. As a verb, it means determine the behavior or supervise the running of. How do you supervise your brain or thoughts indirectly? Like, dude, that is fucking psychobabble baby gibberish. Nah, I am talking about the concept known in philosophy and cogsci circles as Libertarian Free Will. Basically no neuroscientist or cognitive scientist thinks we have it based on the reasons above. Oh and the myriad of brain scans that show our brains making decisions before WE know we have made them. How can you control your neurology directly or indirectly? What? How about you go read actual material on this instead of insults? You are your thoughts? How so? You have a physical body, which arent thoughts. That's a pretty huge difference. Thoughts are just information in your head. Brains are information processing systems. Those thoughts come from somewhere, unless you think we augur them in from nothingness, in which case you believe in magic. Thoughts (information in the heads of human brains) are caused. Dont agree? You believe in magic, then. We dont…

I didn't ask if they had problems socializing, I asked if they had different aspects to their socialization than Princeton kids. The answer is: yes. And there's tons of different American kids. Kids in 90's Compton didn't receive the same kind of socialization as Harvard kids. And when we look at how those kids turned out, well, it shouldn't be a shocker. Again, you saying "you can choose" isn't an argument. What you think feels like a "choice" to me is an illusion, based on prior states. I do n…

Right, so do you "choose" where you learn them from? Do you "choose" what school you go to, or who teaches you, or what kind of people are around you? Where is the "choice" and where is the "control"? 'Cause I don't see any choice or control there. The social skills come from someone and somewhere, are caused by things that are not your choice. And I do think those skills can be acquired in some circumstances, but that acquisition is still not really a choice in any meaningful sense of the word.

Why? Feral children have the same brain as normal humans. Inputs and causes create what happens with human brains. You don't "choose" those inputs or causes. If you think you do, you believe in physics breaking magic. There is no difference. So do children in Sub Saharan Africa 'choose' to be born in poverty? Do they get the same opportunities and environment as Princeton kids with rich parents? Don't you think those environments and opportunities influence them in huge ways? You clearly do not …

Wow, very convincing. I don't see where 'choice' is coming from here. You just saying "you choose stuff" is not convincing, nor an argument. Have you ever heard of feral children? There's a few cases of kids being locked in rooms for their entire lives with no input from the outside world. After they were rescued, there was no amount of therapy that could save their brains -- they were totally locked in permanent retardation, because their inputs from the outside world did not exist. Except it really isn't. Whether or not youre adept at socializing is not up to you, and socialization tends to be a feedback loop. If you're not prone to socializing, and you're naturally shy, you're going to do less of it, and being good is going to be an uphill battle. None of these factors you control. So all this sounds like to me is that the average amount of sex partners is going up in the US, if 20-30 year old women have significantly more than 10 partners. I dont think anyone who talks about this is really thinking about 60 year olds when they do. They want to know if the new generation of women, gen zs and millennials, are considerably sluttier than previous generations and if that sluttiness is going to increase in the future. Interesting how pretty much every comment is 15+ partners and yet stats show that the average US woman has fewer than 10 throughout her lifetime. I know reddit isnt indicative of reality but I'm sure there's tons of threads with hundreds of comments just like this, all with women who have had significantly more than 10 sexual partners. Hm... Wonder what that could mean...

Alison Brie is a 9+, Elizabeth Olsen, Nathalie Emmanuel and Elizabeth Debicki are 8/9's. Celebrity 7's are a little harder to quantify. Anna Kendrick is the closest I can think of. Like, she's hot for a normal girl, and pretty, but not spectacularly hot for a celebrity and fairly plain looking.

I'm 30 and live in a college town, one of the biggest in the country. I don't 'trawl' the campus for anything, but every bar and social scene and street corner here is inundated with college aged people, so am I just not supposed to go out and have fun because some randos think it's creepy? I'm also dating a 24 year old master's student and no one gives a shit. The age disparity has never been mentioned once. I started dating her when she was 23. No one has ever cared or thought anything about i…

In my experience, it is not true about women's reading habits though. That's just some thing you made up because you haven't met nearly enough women, and I'd bet you haven't been around academic women even a little with a viewpoint like this. Most of my 20's were spent in academia and those bitches read everything good they could get their hands on. Go meet more women before saying stupid shit. Lots and lots of fiction books are "based on reality" -- what does this even mean? The best fiction books I've read take place on Earth and concern real world events. Not everything is Game of Thrones or whatever other shit you're dumping into this category. What you mean is "I can't read between the lines or try to understand thema, and it's easier for me to just get force fed information." Sounds extremely fuckin boring to only read non fiction. Non fiction is great for lots of stuff, and so i…

Fiction books can teach you about reality and reveals truths as well. Sorry that it's not all completely spelled out for you in the driest way possible (which, hey, I like sometimes, that's what non fiction is for). Also you're still implying that your brain isn't "developed" if you read fiction, which is clearly baby nonsense. Sounds like some authors just got a little too difficult for your little ol brain :(

I don't get some people's thing with fiction being bad. I mean, dude, read some Pynchon, Eco, some Steinbeck, some Delilo, some Cormac McCarthy. This stuff teaches about the world in the same way any non fiction book does, and this is coming from someone who reads both a lot. Like, I don't watch TV at all, I read pretty much exclusively. Both fiction and non fiction are necessary to being or becoming a well rounded human being. Also there's tons of women who read good books. Maybe ... meet more …

It doesn't matter if it's hypocritical if a woman says it The main issue is that the guy in the OP photo blatantly lied about his age and then made up a creepy excuse. You can say just about anything against this guy and redditors will rally with you, as long as you hate X man for X reasons. The hypocrisy is a tertiary afterthought compared to vitriol and spite.

Do 'they' have no self determination, though? Generally when we look at populations of colonized peoples, there is a wide array of adherents to the new colonizers and rebels to the new colonizers. Within every population I can think of except the most severe cases (which, yes, were a net negative, aka Belgians in the Congo) there were always large native populations that sided with the colonizers, sometimes it was the local elites, sometimes it was the local rebellions that wanted to dispose of …

I would agree that both sides have merits, and my position isn't Pro-Colonial so much as it's that some colonialism in some places was certainly beneficial. Colonization was not a monolithic experience and there are many notable examples of countries improving on every objective metric when they decided to adopt cultural practices similar to their colonizers. Iliza is just outlandishly hot so you are perceiving her to be funnier than she actually is. She's not overtly terrible or obnoxious, but she shouldn't be anywhere near a best contemporary female comedians list when killers like Maria Bamford, Bonnie Macfarlane and Jessica Kirson exist. This is probably an East Coast/West Coast divide thing. The ladies on the East Coast who perform regularly are ridiculously good at comedy. The west coast ladies ... less so.

Wanda Sykes isn't funny imo. Maria Bamford is better than most male comedians. She'd take my top spot for female comedians. I agree on Lucille Ball, but I mean, Catherine O'Hara exists, and the ladies who worked with Chris Morris and Armando Iannuci are all funny (Doon Mackichan, Julia Davis, Rebecca Front). Meg Ganz was/is a writer for some of the best comedies out today (Bojack, Community). Chicks like Dina Hashem regularly eviscerate dudes and make them look like amateurs. Elaine May has writ…

While I would agree men are funnier on average, and that there's way more funny male comedians, this doesn't exclude women from being funny, and there's a shit ton of funny female comedians, comedic actresses and television writers. They're not all as terrible as Amy Schumer and Lisa Lampanelli. Christopher Hitchens got this right however long ago, the ones that tend to be genuinely funny are Jews or lesbians, but that doesn't mean they're nonexistent.

Good for you, brother, I have also fucked girls on the first date, but that's not the topic, really, we are talking about the OP, which is about whether or not it makes you 'beta-zoned' to be making out only on the second date, which it decidedly does not. If you don't think there's many ways for individual women to show enthusiasm that don't include fucking right away, we're just not aligned on the issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/21 03:41 PM

I don't agree with that at all, though. If she's making out with me on the first date, that's enough to understand she's at least a little enthusiastic, especially when we consider how easily any of these girls could be doing it with anyone else. She doesn't have to fuck me even on the third or fourth date for me to have evidence of enthusiasm, especially if we're doing other stuff in the bedroom. I'm with you, though. Most of my friends are average, and most have already slept with more than 10 people (late 20's, early 30's demo), and many have slept with far more than 10 people. In big cities this is totally the norm in pretty much every group I've ever been a part of.

What the fuck does this have to do with our ancestors not smelling? You making lifestyle changes =/= hunter gatherers didn't smell. Two different claims. Individual humans sometimes don't smell that bad, it's about the eccrine glands and sweat production in your own body, you could just secrete less than other people, it doesn't mean hunter gatherers smelled good, or that "alcohol and coffee and weed make you smell bad". Like, you're all over the place here. Also how do you "live" like a hunter …
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/21 08:07 PM

And why do you think hunter gatherers smelled good? Where is there any evidence to suggest this? Hunter gatherers had the exact same eccrine glands as modern humans and the same sweat mechanisms. So your theory is that sometime between hunter gatherers and small civilizations, humans just started smelling out of nowhere even though nothing about the biology of the human changed. Not sure how you're going to make any sense out of that, but ok.

Well exactly, 7 women are not en masse hitting on 7 men, 7 men are being hunted by less than ideal women, and I'd still say that's fairly rare. Ugly/average women have self esteem issues too which prevent them doing any approaching at all. And since they're not socialized to approach, and the risk they're taking is much greater than a man approaching a woman, I'd put this in the "rare" or "uncommon" category.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/21 06:09 PM

Sure, I'm ugly and a few women have thrown themselves at me, but you have to consider the amount of situations where you're not getting any women thrown at you - i.e., most situations. The few are an exception to the rule. And standardly attractive 7's and 8's are not getting hit on by women, not because of their attractiveness, but because women are not socialized to hit on random men, and it's a giant risk for them to hit on random men. That risk, for most women, is only mitigated enough if th…

Also it doesn't mean they "hate" bald men. It's that they like those other features, and they like them enough to not care about…

No, he just has other features women like, and he's like 5'11, not even truly tall. If you have a shitty unfortunate feature like baldness, you work on other features that you can improve like fitness and status and money and suddenly women wont give a fuck if youre bald. Not rocket science dude. Baldness doesnt even rank in most of the conversations on this sub because its a nonissue. Being short is worse than bald. Being fat is worse than bald. Being impoverished is worse than bald. Being soci…

Maybe its a combination of features that makes someone attractive or unattractive and not a single feature like baldness? Or is that too sensible for you?

My best friend is bald (but also tallish, jacked and has a cool job) and he gets more genuinely attractive pussy than anyone I have ever known. Being bald isnt your problem if that is what youre getting at.

I never once told you what to think. I used words like "some" and "generally". I never said ALL conservatives or anything like that during this whole convo. So maybe just read a little more carefully before crying about something I didnt actually say.

I'll keep treating individuals like individuals. I don't treat crackwhores the same way I treat my female GP, or my female dentist. Most people don't, and shouldn't.

How about treating women like individuals instead of a monolith? Your comment presupposes that all women are darling angels who deserve nothing but sympathy and respect.

Everyone in my family but me is conservative (not even close to Dems, btw, all have voted conservative in every presidential election, including Trump), and I live in a red state lmao. I got this conclusion because of what they were saying and the conversations I was having with them and how easy it was to come to conclusions on virtually every topic. So yeah, already did all that stuff you just suggested, which is why I'm saying the stuff I am now. Maybe you need to talk to more socialists.

This is PPD anyway, I don't come here to have political debates. If you want to talk politics, go elsewhere, this isn't the place. I don't think your solutions would be all that different. It's not like there's infinite solutions to stuff like homelessness. I would reckon they mimic at least some socialist's goals, and some conservative's, because, well, they are very similar. Climate change is a different issue altogether because those have tenable solutions, and pretty much every civilized cou…

They talk about economics more than anything else, and worker's rights -- if you're not a regular on the sub, I don't think it's fair for you to say that all they do is meme about the NYT, which is total nonsense. Agreeing or even somewhat agreeing with small differences on most things but one thing (aka your entire argument is "capitalism good, socialism bad) is not "fringe", nor is it irrelevant. You can feel that way, but bringing people together through some amount of mutual understanding is…

I've been on the sub for a while, it's definitely about politics imo. Every single thing with lots of comments and upvotes is pretty much strictly political. And it's like largely dem-soc's when you look at the surveys they've done ... I would not consider dem-soc's 'extremists'

/r/stupidpol , you will have a ton in common with them, I can pretty much guarantee it. There's a bunch of rightoids on that sub anyway and I see a ton of overlap on virtually all issues without the users themselves realizing it.

Yeah, probably. As a socialist, it's intellectually honest to say that there's definitely some socialists that are afraid of boogeymen words instead of having beliefs they can back up -- jack socialists, if you will. Happens to most people, really, political affiliation has very little to do with it. Now let's see you say the same instead of one word nothing responses.

I am tall and fit so don't really have typical guy problems, but on a probability level, their argument does make a bit of sense. It's not that they see a bunch of creepy messages as a boon, it's that within those messages there is some probability factor of them not being creepy messages. The choices here are binary. You can either be a woman and get a ton of messages on OLD, with most of those being disgusting losers, but some of them being okay picks. or you can be a man, and likely get almos…

I don't really have a dog in this fight, am pretty agnostic on the issue as we don't have enough relevant data, but this doesn't go both ways in this case -- her study was a cross sectional analysis of 150 countries and the study did not use weasel words like "it's entirely possible". It's also a study and not a proposal. If you want the actual number, there is a 13.4% higher probability of receiving higher inflows in a democratic country than otherwise. Big piece of advice is try not to get into an LTR. I spent years 20 to 23 in an LTR and I regret it. Honestly, your take is a fair take. I have not hooked up with a fat girl, but I have hooked up with average girls who were not rail thin and it was fine. A pretty face on an average girl (even if she has some "rolls", as you say, which average women can totally have) can take away a lot of the grossness. We're talking about losing weight. If you're fat or obese, CICO regimens are a good way to start it off. Then you start working on more difficult regimens. But if you're fuckin 300 pounds, then yeah, CICO works and the other shit you said doesn't matter. Skinnyfat is infinitely preferable to fat to pretty much everybody. Not significantly overweight, but I was fat in high school. I got not fat very easily by eating vegetables and lean meats in college, when I had no money whatsoever. Seems like you're trying to dictate my own beliefs to me. But that's probably because you have fat brain and don't understand that people have views contrary to your very shitty ones. Being excessively fat is a mental illness. It should be treated with therapy. That's a belief I hold, and I don't give a fuck if you think it's "trolling". It's actually just true.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/21 06:47 PM

Yeah, I actually believe this, so not trolling. That's how this works you fat retard.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/21 06:44 PM

Not trolling. Being not fat isn't difficult unless you have genetic abnormalities, which very few people have.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/21 06:42 PM
11

It isn't difficult, fat people just have mental imbalances. All of which can likely be worked out with intensive therapy. Everyone knows sugar is addictive. I don't see how that's an excuse. You lack such willpower you let sugar control you? Why wouldn't I view that as anything but totally pathetic?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/21 06:30 PM

The fat people who legitimately complain about how hard it is to get lean/fit actually just can't stop shoving sugar into their mouths. Losing weight and looking halfway respectable is not difficult, and the people who think it is have been ruined by a culture of instant gratification. Their brains are legitimately fucked up. Obesity is the U.S.'s largest mental health crisis by a huge margin.

I mean, I wasn't talking about getting into a relationship with them, I was asking why my hypothetical would be considered maladjustment and you have yet to answer this. You made the claim that high n count meant certain things (lack of control, hedonism), and you have not backed this up. You have also not yet connected the dots for me, because you don't answer questions. Sleeping with one dude a month, or ten a year, or fifteen a year, doesn't show any psychological signs of anything except a p…

There's a difference between not wanting to bond and unable to bond, but it doesn't make you maladjusted just because you don't want a relationship. There are tons of reasons why any individual woman/person wouldn't want a relationship. Plenty of people like being single. What about being single makes a person psychologically unwell in any way? Because you say so? What 'most' people do isn't really relevant, and is kind of just a bandwagon argument all over again. You were saying they were hedon…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/21 04:23 PM

What about it makes it a red flag? Why is it a red flag? You're saying it's a red flag because it makes them "hedonistic" and "unable to control themselves". What about being sexless for 29 days out of a month and having sex one day out of the month shows those things to you? Because that is not the behavior of a truly hedonistic person with no self control -- again, especially considering women can get fucked whenever they want. Nobody in the world? Do you really think that a psychologist would…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/21 04:12 PM

So a high n count, in your opinion, is necessarily a problem, which is the opposite of what you wrote. I mean, there is no psychological literature that would concur that sleeping with one new person a month is maladjustment. That's like not even close to actual sex addiction, or having problems with sex, and does not show any classical signs of hedonism as it is categorized. So what exactly are you talking about, except for your own feelings? If men could do this, they would. Are they psycholog…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/21 03:56 PM

You don't answer the question, so you turn it back on me? That's not how questions work, but okay, sure, I'll actually do the thing you didn't do. I think some women some of the time, depending on the individual, can fuck lots of people (just like men can) and be considered neurotypical and have 'normative' sexualities. I think if a girl fucks, lets say 5 - 10 dudes a year, is not a rampant slut, and is actually being hugely discerning when we take into account how many more she could be fucking…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/21 03:52 PM

I don't necessarily disagree with what you're saying, but you are tacitly admitting that high n count itself is the problem. If you're saying that high n count shows a lack of self control and a propensity toward hedonism, how would it be possible for a woman to rack up a high n count without those things? How could a woman healthily achieve a high n count, in your opinion?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/21 03:41 PM

I've never heard anyone say that men can't catch feelings after sex, I have literally only ever heard the opposite.

While this is mostly true, the men who lose their looks at 30 were never particularly good looking, and on average, in general, men increase their status in their 30's. They have more money and better jobs and thus their SMV raises. And no, I don't believe that women hit the wall at 30 or whatever other dumb shit. Most people still look pretty okay at 30 - 35. 40 is the real wall for most people.
