See my other answer. I never said one should laze around. Of course you should do keep up your household. I'm just saying no amount of choreplay will fix a dead bedroom. Been there. Seen others be there. Chores can create dead bedrooms but they can't fix dead bedrooms.

Word. I stay alone now and my condo is mostly in order most of the time (the kids do add some chaos when they're here). It's just a problem of mismatched expectations IMO. One person thinks one thing is more important than the other person does. Now I do things to my own standard and it's really just fine. "Mental load" is largely self-imposed.

Not all men work all day and come home and just "laze" around. Not my point. Most married people feel like they're doing most of the chores, or at least their part. Even if she does half or less, she probably still think she does the most, so it doesn't really matter. Of course you shouldn't laze all day. But this isn't about getting things done, it's about fixing a dead bedroom. If she stopped wanting you, you've got more pressing matters than choreplay, which might lead to divorce, so you bett…

"I do most of the chores" Probably not, but that's not the point. If your wife has stopped wanting you, be it because of the chores situation or something else, starting or continuing to do most the chores might not hurt but it isn't gonna help.

So actually, seduction isn't necessary, if you've just picked up the right signals over the years. You contradict yourself here. If you think that's contradiction, then it sounds like you're not even trying to understand what I'm saying, but just in case you're really having a hard time and not just arguing in bad faith, let me try again: You need to make sure a woman considers you like a potential sexual mate before being so forwards with your intentions, or you'll push them away, especially if…

What makes a strategy not "valid" to you? This seems like a restatement of your disagreement. Besides the fact that it obviously and predictably blew up in his face, destroying a 10-year friendship in the span of 24 hours? You have sex with someone by seducing them first. Not by "asking". That's all. You gotta ensure they feel sexual about you beforehand somehow. That's the "valid" way to go about it. Just straight-up asking without previous enthusiastic both-ways flirting might work if the othe…

I fail to see the similarities, but rock on I guess.

I think I agree with you, but I'm conflicted. On one hand I have pity on people who have such a skewed vision of relationships. Nobody sane, rational and properly socialized would come up with it on their own. At some level I think it's because society has denied him healthy and successful flirting experiences for some reason? Maybe it's his looks? I don't think it's all his fault, and I think it's sad. Nobody teaches you to flirt, everyone has to learn through observation and practice, and some…

When was the last time you had sex with someone where your pickup line was "I want to sleep with you" over text, drunk, out of the blue in the middle of the night? Yeah, me neither. He might "have the right to ask", but it's not a valid strategy and it never was. Someone with at least minimal cognizance of social cues would have realized that.

I am not saying that what she did was justified but I can atleast understand where she is coming from while this dude seems like a genuine piece of shit. I don't think he's a piece of shit but he's definitely missing some social skills, especially in the flirting area, and his vision of sexual promiscuity is weirdly skewed by this. He should definitely take a step back from trying to have sex and fix his worldview by giving it an honest look, but judging by how this thread is going, he's also la…

There was nothing wrong with asking to sleep with her. But there was absolutely something wrong with the way he asked (out of the blue, too direct, late at night = obvious tell for "drunk and horny and just looking for a warm hole to fuck," whether that was the case or not) and then there was absolutely something wrong with the way he justified it by "apologizing" afterwards ("you're clearly a slut who shamelessly fucks douchebags so it's only fair that I ask for my turn"). You can be 100% sure …

The way to sleep with a libertine woman is to seduce her, just like any other woman, not to drunkenly request a crumb of pussy over text. But you know that already. The number or nature of her sexual partners might give you a hint that she might be more prone to entertain the idea, but it doesn't give you a pass for giving it your absolute lowest effort. You gave her The Ick because you made her feel like the low-hanging fruit. Her other friends made her feel... well, something else, IDK. But I …

My personal example of privilege is how I grew up in a loving middle-class family where I got materially and emotionally encouraged to succeed, in a stable low-crime country with a decent social safety net. This allowed me in turn to quite easily become upper middle class, not without effort, but without breaking much of sweat. I recognize I am not a self-made man; the circumstances of my birth precede my modest success. Privilege is unearned advantage, that's all it is. The only reason you're b…

Goddamn dude just who are you arguing with here? The entire backlog of terminally online internet arguments that rotted your brain? I'm just saying your example was shit. And it was.

Man I sure hope you didn't sprain your brain thinking so hard about that example.

as u/Bubbly_Loquat7730 so eloquently put it, I'm also lurking and occasionally commenting on another male-issues sub, which is also fringe in its own way. This here sub seems super hardline on blaming feminism for all male problems, while the other prefers to tiptoe around blaming feminism at all even after it stops making sense just to keep their "feminist-minded men's space" badge and keep the crazies at arm's length. I think both are inappropriate approaches, but I don't even know what a midd…

This post is just another variation on "people triggered me in another part of the internet, so I'm coming to this particular echo chamber to seek validation" that has become endemic to social media

This is basically the argument for corporal punishment in class and we don't do that anymore for good reasons.

You can be firm and authoritative and command obedience without yelling at people in general, children included. Yelling is a tell for losing control of the situation and falling back to ruling by intimidation and even kids can tell. They'll "listen" to make the screaming stop but they'll lose respect in the messenger, the message might just follow. As a parent I'm not above yelling at my kids but 19 times out of 20 it's out of my own frustration and a different approach would have yielded bette…

Why the fuck are teachers yelling at students? So unprofessional. I don't think I've ever seen an instance of a teacher yelling at a student when I was at school. Even when teachers were ordering disruptive elements out of their class, it was more of a strong stern voice than yelling.

People getting so butthurt about internet comments that they make posts pointing at these comments for blatant validation-seeking just make this subreddit look bad and immature.
