I would assume that guy is talking about the same study and just got confused that it was talking about male DV victims rather than male rape victims. MensLib is considered a feminist/social justice sub that is concerned with men's "issues" that are actually relating to women (e.g. how men can stop rape perpetrated by men) rather than actual men's issues. Hence, just like SRS, r / feminism, etc. we ban linking to it.

Gawker was involved in the doxxing incident a while back of Violentacrez, and a bunch of subs decided to ban gawker links as a result. Also, Jezebel (which is Gawker site) is a very misandrist site, so we don't want to give them traffic.
