Agreed. The ex’s attorney is paying for it. I believe the motion to compel is the best option at this time. Thanks!

Thanks. There wasn’t a specific time frame. I appreciate the advice on motion to compel and will look into it

The judge had already ruled the kids were 100% in my custody so I knew they were safe which was my major concern. At that point, I’d already spent $80,000 in legal fees and realized it would be tough to get all the witness testimony from the first trial back on the stand - private investigators, CPS, law enforcement, GAL and other officials; I didn’t have it in me to focus on yet another trial and spend countless hours and travel from the kids for another trial. In hindsight, I probably should h…

You need legal advice as soon as possible. As other have noted, this is criminal more than civil at this time. You need to be methodical in how you approach this and start taking charge of where you want to go. FIGHT!! Spend a the next few days researching lawyers and meet with them individually. The more the better. Then start the process. Prepare yourself for a long process but stay calm and focus on yourself. I can’t stress enough how important it is to hit the gym and take your mind off this…

This! Keep up with the documentation. While she’s in detox, go through the house and find anything you can that could be used as evidence of your case or demonstrate longstanding issues with substance abuse and other nefarious activities. You’re fighting on two possible fronts (criminal and divorce) and need a lawyer ASAP to guide you through the steps. Go into your bank, credit card and other financial transactions to see how she’s spent the money and where. Pull all statements that will go bac…

I wish I had a bigger ear and smaller mouth in my 20s to take the advice people gave me. Like others have said, marriage is a partnership and should be viewed as equal contribution to a common goal. Sounds like your goal is far different than hers which is going to be a massive issue. Trust your gut, re-evaluate your goals and whether she aligns and determine next steps. Easier to take a hit, lick your wounds abs love on now than 10, 20, 30 yrs down the road,… trust me on this. Good luck

Same story and completely agree. I’m in a 2yr divorce process and sole custody of our 4 children. The addiction doesn’t get any easier and the false promises, victimization, enablement by family members and deception doesn’t get any better as time goes on. With everything I’m handling right now - career, kids, daycare, school, finances; I can honestly say I’m happier now than the previous 10yrs of marriage and have a new lease on life where I’m a better father and at peace instead of managing th…
