That, for me, is where the problem lies. The disconnect between times of old and now. There is no real reason to feel cheated or for it to be a selfish act. There has been substantial findings that imply homo sapiens sapiens are not monogamous by nature. This even shows in the statistical data of divorce rates. We are juggling serial-monogamy as a facade for genuine monogamous relationships. And the leading cause? Infidelity, if most people feel a committed relationship is what they want why do …

Yeah I don't understand it personally. Sex and love are separate things and should remain separate. You see a couple in "Love" and see it ruined because one partner had sex with someone else. Now why should the simple act of sex, especially when it doesn't produce offspring or have a mate acquire an std, ruin the fabled "love"? I think if we could distinguish the two we would all be better for it. Though I've come to learn its a touchy subject for a lot of people. They usually surmise that seeki…

I really wish the word love and all its connotations were ripped from all human language. That damned word and its subjective meanings have single-handedly ruined the mutual exclusivity of sex and "love". Now they are so misconstrued people can't see one without the other. /endrant Sorry!

That's what I really want to do. But do you ever get the feeling that you just don't compare academically to others? Like through some fluke you were able to get as far as you have? The feeling of any minute you will be outed a fraud and humiliated in front of your peers? Every time I think about the hundreds or thousands that apply for the PhD programs I have in mind alone vs the single digits of accepted applicants. Makes my stomach churn just thinking about it lol :(

Of course no one thinks about in those terms, nonetheless that is what we evolved to do. Nature doesn't calculate contraceptives and other reproduction preventive measures. When we have sex our physiological processes perform to achieve the ultimate goal of reproduction even if we consciously interfere with the performance to prevent it. The pleasure you derive from sex is just a feature that enticed our ancestors to enjoy and seek sex for reproduction purposes.

I think legalized prostitution would go a long way and helping with issue of sexual frustration and public out lashing as a result. We aren't owned sex no, but some are will to do everything within their power to get it. If they can get it through normal means, and can't buy it, what is left? An out lash is what is left. Whether it be through a mass shooting or sexual violence. Every solution will have its pros and cons but its pretty clear the current narrative isn't working and we can only exp…

I have no children at the moment. Even though it feels like the smart decision based on my life style, in the grand scheme of our biological imperative, I'm failing. Once I figure out how to cope with that I'll let you know.

MSW was only meant to be a stepping stone. I admit I did have dreams of grandeur early on in my undergrad years. I thought if I failed at a sex life during my undergrad and grad years I could redeem myself by striving for a PhD in clinical psychology with a focus on sex therapy. From there I'd try to take advantage of some transference and possibly speak with my clients about the failings of monogamy. Later I was convinced by fellow students and some TAs that I could still do therapy with MSW, i…

Well you're too intelligent for me to hang lol. I received a BS in psychology, though I minored in anthropology. Wish I would have majored in Anthropology! Just recently received my MSW, but I really have no intentions of completing two years of post-master supervised experience to meet the requirements for LCSW. Now that I'm out and I have no idea what I want to do. Its only been a few weeks and I miss it already! If I take the GRE Psychology subject test I could pursue a PhD in maybe I/O psych…

Eh..nothing new. Women have evolved to be manipulative. It's basically in their genes. Of all the primates they are the only ones who have concealed ovulation. Why such an adaption? The theories run rampant, but all have a manipulative undertone. Same with breast, full round breast just adds to the confusing of our senses and our ability to determine fertility or possible paternity. Female copulatory vocalization?? Another fine tactic breed to perfection. You may not see it but they have million…

I will never understand why people try to down play sex. I mean really it blows my mind. Maybe it's just all the life sustaining properties it provides that biases my opinion. Reproduction, defense against disease and parasites, pleasure, etc. I mean it has its own theory, a theory that goes hand in hand with another theory just as important. Natural selection and sexual selection both are pretty much the process of life as we know it. Honestly I can think of nothing else we homo sapiens sapiens…

Um.. Other societies didn't prevent rape. Rape is a evolutionary adaptation. Yes its bad blah blah blah, but it is here to stay nonetheless. Everyone should take the time to read some research on rape from biologist Randy Thornhill and anthropologist Craig T. Palmer. It's an evolutionary account of rape in regards to its evolutionary adaptive purpose.

I have yet to see any science in any thread listed her. Believe me I've looked. However, I have found material that directly contradicts results from various scientific studies. If we could get the redpill mastermind to incorporate some scientific wisdom it would be awesome! Though when it comes to topics of sex many fields of science tend to tread lightly. You make a valid point. Just sucks that people are made out to be horrible people for lacking the willpower to restrain themselves from something that is in their nature. It's a odd stance to hold because that would have to encompass all natural tendencies of human nature, but I feel the need to stand for it all; the good and the bad. heh lets just say I tend to make more enemies than friends when such debates take place.

I agree. I'm not completely sure why people use the term pedophile so loosely. The sexual attraction would have to towards a prepubescent for it to be a correct labeling. Sexual attraction to someone who has undergone puberty is completely nature.

Well lets look at it from an evolutionary stand point. What adaptive value does any of this have? What is our underline biological imperative? If you believe in the theory of natural and sexual selection you'd have to conclude that everything is a means to end. That end being successfully spreading your genes. Since Homo sapiens aren't blessed with asexual reproduction, we take two to tango, sex is the only logical answer. As you know limited eggs blah blah blah. Women's choosiness blah blah bla…

Yep, women have power over a lot of things. Mainly because they hold the power over sex. Which is why they fight so vehemently against sexual violence. Some think it a direct assault on that power. It's funny that some women fight for power or equality but disregard their completely unbalanced advantage in regards to sex.

Who decided they don't know what they want? If the powers that be truly knows what best for someone then why not make the legal age of consent 25+? Science has shown that the prefrontal cortex doesn't fully mature until the late twenties, which mean everyone in the lower age range isn't capable of making truly sound decisions. As for my state laws the legal age of consent is 16. Yet some would still find this too young. The interesting thing is its only in recent history that age plays a role in…

Serious question. Why is it always the unattractive ones fighting for a cause. Its like a joke some female comedian said once. Out of her group of friends its always the ugly overweight one worried about potential rape risks. The punch line she tell her friend is something along the lines of "You have nothing to worry about".

The only thing illegal is the age gap. If the student's consent would be taken serious legally it wouldn't be rape. It's like special pleading or something. "Without a persons consent its rape!", okay will they consented all good right? "Too young to consent, rape!" Pretty soon it will be sex of any kind is rape.

Three viagra? I'd probably enjoy it at that point. Will most likely feel crappy afterward, but still wouldn't assume it was rape. I'd probably sympathizes with her and assume she was forced to do it because she couldn't find sexual outlet any other way. A plight many suffer.

Just depends on the perspective I guess. If you enjoy it it's not rape. If you don't it is. Most people don't understand why they do things. There was a experiment ran some years ago on how people, particularly males, attitude changes when sexually aroused and when not sexually aroused. They were asked a series of question rangeing in a wide variety of sexually deviant acts. As the experimenters thought the subjects vehemently disagreed with most of the acts presented to them. When they were ask…

Is there a science pill? One that forces people to understand sexual selection and just human nature in general? A pill that helps you realize that you and all other homo sapiens are just another family of primate, just another animal. A pill that helps you realize that as a animal humans can be manipulated to get desired results. A pill that helps you see people are variables in a life long experiment. If so I'd take that pill in a heart beat.

I don't understand videos like this. Is as if they are saying everyone should be of one mind and think certain things are off limits and can't/shouldn't be funny or fun or cool. But the fact is people have different preferences, one person misery could very well be "hilarious" to someone else. We are not all the same and what I find enjoyable may be different from popular consensus doesn't mean my enjoyment or pleasure is inherently wrong. Stop the discrimination!

I ask myself the same question. All the advocacy should be geared towards sexual gratification. Maybe then we can put a stop to yearly mass shootings. So much social frustration and no form of outlet to relieve it. There is a reason they all fit the same general profile, but no one wants to admit there is a serious problem with lack of sex in many societies. I wonder if we see these types of heinous acts in location with legalized prostitution.

Is this story real? Sounds like a one sided relationship. If he is supporting them both financially and she don't upholding her end of the bargain(sex when he wants it), he should leave her. Why is he putting up with this in the first place?

Only thing that caught my eye was the passage on Elliot Rodgers. His senseless retribution, like so many other, could have been avoided by altruistic acts. A lot of senseless violence against women can be easily avoided. But it would require a change to a centuries old stigma. Can't have the cake and eat it too I guess.

Eh, I don't know. My rationale is insane, I know, but I feel implementing social construct after construct isn't working. People are so caught up in morality that they lose sight of its subjectivity. Why is so much work put into controlling our nature? Our pre-agriculture ancestors did just fine with none of the restriction governing us today.

I don't understand this culture thing. Where is it? I thought rape was an adaptation for sexual selection. It's been around as long as sex has, which mean since the dawn of species that can't reproduce asexually. Why is it now being blown widely out of proportion. It will never go away. Time people start accepting it as a part of life. It happened before you were around it will still continue to happen long after you are and I are gone. Any attempts to change human nature is futile.

I think I'm completely missing the point of this community. I believe women are only meant for sex, but this community is taking a step further. I'm having a hard time relating to the other claims. To me none of it seems important. Outside of their purpose as an outlet for sexual release.
