Dad jeans with a worn down tshirt and shoes that look like you just finished mowing the lawn with a body posture that says "IDGAF" probably DGAF. The times when I feel most baller is when I'm dressed like I just woke up and threw on whatever was lying around. It's like I'm so high status that I don't even need to try to conform to society's fashion standards. But I'm married, so I'm not thinking of this in the context of attracting women. If I were single and hoping to meet someone, I would prob…

I have a work area and a storage area. I just don't want to mess up my work area with an in-progress project. I get paranoid that I'll start something that I won't be able to finish, and then I'll have to deal with the mess because it can't be put away in the state I leave it in.

Having my work area neat actually prevents me from working. Everything looks so organized, I don't want to mess it up.

I've done it, and I've usually regretted it. A lot of guys struggle with women because they don't have strong "inner game" because they don't feel good about themselves. Guys who struggle to get laid sometimes think that getting laid will provide them the practice and ego boost they need, and they do in the short term, but if you're hooking up with a girl you're not attracted to, you may end up feeling bad about the situation and yourself in the long term, especially if the girl ends up with str…

You need to do some work on yourself. It seems like you're pretty negative on yourself, your circumstances, your prospects - your life. That's unattractive, and nothing you do to improve your game is going to work until you fix your self esteem and your outlook. Your parents seem to be at the root of a lot of your issues, so get away from them and figure out who you are as a person. Figure out what makes you happy, what kind of person you want to be, how you want people to see you, etc. Build a …

Is there any particular reason for the "if there was only one thing" phrasing? I know the NLP guys are very deliberate with their word choices.

There are a lot of variations on the theme of eliciting values. Asking women to describe their dream vacation, or to describe their perfect date, etc.

I play in a band, and we rotate between 4 bars, so I know the staff at those 4 bars very well. It's pretty cool to be the guy everyone knows at the bar. It's even cooler to have the bartender pour me a beer as soon as he sees me without me having to even ask for it.

When I was single, I had many relationships that each lasted about 10 weeks. I totally know what you mean about enjoying the challenge, chase, etc more than anything else. I think I was going through a period in my life where I needed to prove something to myself because I had been such a late bloomer.

Hitting on a girl ur not attracted to never works because they can tell ur just looking for something easy, and they will go for the guy who is genuinly attracted to her. This is a really good point. I think a lot of what makes it easier to go for someone of lower value is that you care less about the outcome because the stakes aren't as high. But if you're lowering your standards specifically to boost your confidence, you're actually increasing your dependence on the outcome, and that anxiety w…

Often the ugly ones are a pain in the ass because they have been used and abused by men in the past because, well, they are ugly. This is great advice because it's sort of counter-intuitive. It seems like the way to improve your odds is to lower your standards, but in my experience, low quality girls are the most paranoid and bitchy for the exact reason you state. Then, when you get rejected by them, you feel even worse about yourself because you couldn't even score an ugly chick. It's a tough b…

I think this is good advice, but I'll offer a counter point. I'm the type of guy where if I'm not actively participating in the conversation, my mind wanders and I tend to get a zoned out expression on my face, which makes people think I'm weird if they even bother to notice me at all. I should probably work on staying present regardless, but it's just so boring to watch other people talking. The other issue for me is that I'm an excellent conversationalist. I'm good at using conversation to fli…

"Think before you speak" and "Get your shit together" might be good advice for people who already know what to do and are being lazy or nervous about it, but it's not good advice for the people who really do need help with the mechanics of body language, timing, vocal inflection, etc. Being able to read a social situation and calibrate to it is a skill, and while it may come naturally to you, many others need to spend effort learning it. Also, confidence isn't everything. Plenty of people do rea…

I've met some very confident people who were very poorly calibrated. They do not get laid.

The problem is that a lot of it isn't about what you say, it's about all the little subtleties - body language, timing, vocal tone, etc. A natural is naturally calibrated for all of those subtleties, so everything works for them. The rest of us have to learn to calibrate so we send the right vibe.

I recently bought a pair of Earasers off of Amazon. They lower the volume while preserving a lot of the clarity so you can still hear conversations. Plus, they're practically invisible. When I wore them to the bar to watch my friend's band play, no one could tell I had them in. Even after I told them I was wearing earplugs, they had to look closely before they believed me. I bought them to protect my hearing, but I agree that it puts you in a different zone. While everyone else's brain is tied u…

I totally know what you mean. I was filling in this weekend with my friend's band because their bassist was unavailable, and I felt fine when I was on stage performing, but during our breaks I had no idea what to do with myself. I love to drink, and I'm pretty good at socializing, but bars are just not my scene.

When I was still single and hooking up with a lot of girls, I never really worried about STD's. I worried far more about drama from unstable girls. I guess I always had pretty good luck in that the girls I hooked up with were clean, but a lot of them ended up being a hassle to get rid of.

When I was single, alcohol used to make me better until about 4 drinks, and then things would go downhill quickly. At four drinks I'd be so quick-witted and smooth. I think it helped get me out of my head and put me on autopilot, and it was frankly the only way I could have fun in clubs or bars. I agree with all of your points though. While I was pretty smooth when drunk, my memory and attention span sucked and if my lack of attention to detail didn't get me in trouble that night, it certainly w…

I'm not the parent, but my wife and I went through a period where I was almost always turning down her sexual advances to the point where we stopped having sex for a long time. For me, it was a matter of her not respecting my personal boundaries and using sex as a way to invade the space I was trying to carve out for myself. It took a lot of counseling to make her understand that my need for space didn't mean that I didn't love her, and that forcing herself on me (sexually and otherwise) made me…

I could see a case being made for the preference being borne out of the concept of what a car is. Men are said to have better spacial reasoning skills than women (perhaps evolved out of a need to track animals to hunt while the women stayed home and raised the young), so it's possible they'd be more drawn to things surrounding transportation. Another theory could be that a car is a machine, and males are thought to have more of an affinity for machines than females.

If we could all look past our feelings, we wouldn't need a subreddit like r/seduction, we would all be naturals. If we could look past our feelings, we might not even be that interested in seducing women in the first place.

There's a point at which things start clicking, and you stop having to think about the details. Everything just flows naturally because the time you've spent working on this stuff has allowed it to integrate itself into your whole identity and thought processes. I look at it like learning to play an instrument. The first few months are spent tediously trying to piece together a lot of awkward movements to achieve what turn out to be pretty mediocre results. But after a while you start to feel th…

It's all about balance. It's definitely possible to fail so frequently or spectacularly that you get a reputation, but it's also possible to play it so conservative that you let a lot of decent opportunity pass you by. You've got to assess the level of risk that's right for you. You're going to fail sometimes, but that's how you learn. On the plus side, by taking an interest in learning what works and what doesn't, you're already much more well armed than most people out there.

So in a sense, beta males are competing for women as well, but they're approaching it all wrong. This is the key. Nice guys think they're above the game playing, but they're playing an even worse game, one where they're trying to buy interest from a woman out of their league with favors or gifts. It seems like it should work - what girl doesn't want to be treated like a princess - but in reality it's off-putting for the girl because she feels like you're gonna think she owes you something.

Usually, they'll have you choose a salary $25k=$50k $50k-$75k $75k-$100k > $100k I never had problems with gold diggers. I tend not to date anyone without a college degree and a big kid job, so that weeds out anyone who doesn't take their career at least a little seriously. Also, I'm pretty cheap, so if a girl is looking for a sugar daddy, they usually get the idea that they're barking up the wrong tree when they see what kind of clothes I wear or what kind of car I drive.

My experience was the opposite. I found the competition was a lot stiffer in clubs and bars. With so many dudes crammed into one noisy, crowded place, even if your game is tight, you're still fighting an uphill battle to get a 10 to pay attention to you, especially if you tend to feel stress from overstimulation in those environments to begin with (like I do). Online dating provided me access to girls who are actually looking to meet someone, the ability to message a lot of them with low overhea…

I found it kind of went in waves for me. I would dive in really hard and spend all of my time in the clubs or meeting girls from the internet or reading seduction materials and posting on the forums. Then I would get burnt out and take a break from it for a while before starting back up at full throttle again.

I banged a roommate once. It didn't end terribly, but it didn't end well either. I wouldn't do it again when there are so many other girls out there. It's not worth the potential hassle. It did piss off our third roommate though who we both hated, so that was fun.

I think what he's saying is that when he thinks of negging, he thinks of teasing used in a specific way to accomplish a specific thing, while teasing in general has many forms. Thinking back on Neil Strauss's book, he uses negging a lot of times to push through bitchy girls who think they're too good for him. He does use it as a way to lower her value and raise his own - to turn the tables on the interaction so she's proving something to him instead of him proving something to her. When I think …

Using your phone during a conversation is rude the same way being late is rude. It's selfish, and not respectful of other people's time and attention. Strangely, I can't stand it when people are late. It's one of my biggest pet peeves. But I find myself messing around on my phone frequently when I'm hanging out with people.

This seems like a semantic distinction, not a substantive one. I understand why the term "game" would rub you the wrong way, but conceptually you're talking about the same thing.

Kissing has always come totally naturally to me no matter who I'm with. Granted, some girls have had such terrible technique that it was gonna be bad no matter what I was doing, but in general I've never found kissing to be any kind of mystery at all with a new girl. Sex on the other hand...

I probably took it more seriously than I ever took my schoolwork, but that says more about my bad study habits in college than it says about my commitment to seduction. I was really into David DeAngelo, and I had some 10 disc audio thing of his on inner game that I would listen to during my morning commute every day. I also had a few ebooks from various sources. I read so many other books on seduction, power dynamics, evolution during that time. It was a very transformational period in my life.

I agree that it's like an art. But like art, you become better by honing your craft - studying the work of the masters, pushing yourself to try new things, etc. Think of it this way. Dealing with myself mentally and establishing a mind frame might help me approach music with a positive attitude, but it doesn't help me become a better musician. Study and practice do.

I think modeling after a TV or movie character can be very useful if you choose the right person to model. Movies aren't total fantasy - in order to engage the audience, there has to be some emotional truth to what's going on. If the guy in the movie is an AFC, the women in the audience won't buy that the leading lady falls for him. One thing I like about taking things from movies and TV is that scenes in a movie need to move the story along, so a lot of the things you see are relevant in terms …

David DeAngelo suggests the following: Whenever you're out in the field and you can't come up with something to say, when you get home, write down 10 things you could have said in that situation. Next time you're in a similar situation, you'll be more prepared.

One of the things that helped me was David DeAngelo's suggestion that whenever you're out in the field and can't think of something to say, when you go home, write down 10 things you could have said in that situation. That way, the next time you're in a similar situation, you will be prepared with a few things to say. Over time, you'll have enough material to be prepared for almost anything.

Possibly, but consider this - who would most people say has more game, a guy who has really strong social skills in every context except being sexually attractive to women, or a guy who has really strong social skills only in the context of being sexually attractive to women?

To me, Game is the amount of skill a person has at making themselves attractive to the opposite sex. It's all about knowing what buttons to push, knowing when to push them, and making it all seem effortless. Naturals do this instinctively. PUA's learn it through study and practice.

I've had mixed results picking up while high. In some ways, weed is an advantage because it helps me maintain a detached state where AMOGs and shit tests and how hot the girl is doesn't affect me. On the other hand, it slows me down mentally and it makes me less motivated, and in some cases it makes me too introspective to socialize properly. The key for me is to try to hit the sweet spot where I'm sober enough to function socially, but high enough to stay zen in the face of any bullshit.

Well, I've been retired from PU for a few years since I got married, and even when I was out running game, I'd rarely have this problem with girls. My problem is more with other dudes that my friends sometimes bring around, and I feel like a total jerk for not being able to make basic conversation. It's not a huge deal, except that it's kind of disturbing to fail at something that usually comes so naturally to me.

This is one aspect of game that always came very naturally to me, but every once in a while, I'll meet someone that I just have nothing to talk about with. They'll say something about their job or where they're from or whatever, and I can feel my brain going to work on trying to find some way to relate, but I just can't think of anything to say to this person. It's like some people are so incompatible with me that anything beyond small talk is impossible.

Same exact thing happened to me. When we were dating, her lack of independence didn't bother me because we were enjoying each other's company, but once we got married she start to depend on me too much to prop her up emotionally. She got depressed, started suffocating me, and eventually I started pulling away from the relationship to get the space I needed, which made her more depressed and clingy. Vince Vaughn in Swingers and Will Smith in Hitch are great examples of your basic PUA. I learned a lot from watching those guys, but I found that in practice it was better to model after someone that was a little more compatible with my individual style. When I was in the PUA game, a lot of people suggested James Bond as a good model for alpha behavior, but that is not a personality type that resonates with me at all. Self-deprecating humor was always my strongest asset, so I would model myself …

I think it has to do with the origins of the seduction community in general. In the very early days, the pioneers of PU were very focused and treated this like serious research. Drinking at a club for them would have been like going to work drunk. You might have more fun, but the quality of your work suffers.
