I graduated not that long ago and I've made most of my deepest social connections outside of college. It's all about taking all the free time I have to work on myself. I went full time at my job and started saving lots of money for going out and buying clothes I like. I also spent a bunch of time working out and reading fashion blogs (I love you r/streetwear and r/malefashionadvice). My net result? I act 1000% more confident (I actually see myself as a damn good catch right now, which is a huge …

Magic doesn't exist. You have to go out and make the effort. Ask someone if they wanna grab beers, look at events on Facebook to see what's going on at your campus and invite people to go with you, etc. I know it's tough and some people will blow you off but you have to keep looking. It's a law of averages; eventually someone will say yes. EDIT: I clicked on your profile and it looks like you like video games. Does your school have an eSports club? Join that! You'll actually have a good time wit…

You're in university? Great. You are in the best position you will ever be in for the rest of your life to make the greatest number of friends you possibly can, and you only have 1 year left of it. I kid you not when I say go to ALL the events that even remotely interest you. There will be events you go to where you know nobody, but that's okay. I went to the university bar/club last night and my buddy last minute bailed when I was already there waiting for him. Not wanting to waste the trip, I …

There's so much advice out there that you can become the socially confident guy with the right attitude. Take it from the shy high schooler who now has a bustling social life in college. What I find helps is to slow down conversations, organize my thoughts, and then speak. Otherwise it comes out too fast and I get nervous and shy. You gotta find what makes you feel shy and aim to fix that specifically. It helped me, and this approach to targeting your weaknesses will help you in life.

Well yeah, you gotta put some effort into your appearance to get the girls worth getting. You don't have to be tall, but there's a reasonable assumption that you care about your body and what you put on it on the daily. A short, fat slob in gym sweats isn't gonna rake in the ladies. A short, fit guy with nice hair and stylish threads definitely will with the right attitude. Hell, you could even be genetically ugly (which is pretty rare for most people imo as many things are easily fixable) and y…

If you give off the vibe that your entire happiness isn't predicated on whether she goes on a date with you or not, you don't look like a loser and instead look like someone desirable, and someone with options.

What he's saying is that if the only thing you actually enjoy is staying home and playing video games all day then you have to be at peace with the lifestyle this breeds. This lifestyle, by its very nature, is a solitary one (in the physical sense). If, however, you recognize that you're playing video games all day and you want to change that, OP is saying that video games are just cheap stimulation for your mind. You can find much more fulfilling stimulation doing other activities in the presen…

I never understood negging. I'm gonna get the whole "hurr durr White Knight" thing here but I just don't see the appeal in making someone feel uncomfortable with themselves. Especially if you like the person, why would you want to hurt their self worth? I think it speaks volumes about the guys who do it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
