My reasoning for not leaving state yet is that the ex could say she kidnapped the kid and a judge would see her leaving the state as backing up his story. That could reflect negatively during court proceedings in a custody case.

Definitely look for battered women shelters in your area, they could provide valuable information for assistance and direction. Also don’t leave the state you’re in since during the divorce you’re going to have to go over custody of your child and if you leave the state the courts won’t take that as a good sign.

I would consider myself to be a ratchet face and my husband to look like a greek statute of some nordic mountain man. I got a crooked ass nose, no lips, dark circles under the eyes, and a 5 head. I'm 5'3, overweight (especially now cause I'm 8 months pregnant) and have never been considered a cute girl by any public forum (hell, most people can't tell what I am just by looking at my face alone.) I've had this face since I was a baby and for some reason he likes it. Apparently my giant black eyes…

Yah, I know that the divorce rates go up the more marriages you have. I must note, however, that everything else in your comment is the complete opposite of what me and my husband have done (which gives me a little chuckle at how our relationship is beating the odds.)
