I think the JLS thing is only a rumor, mainly bc her daughter is such a spitting image of her ex-boyfriend that I find it hard to believe that she would be anyone else's kid. But I can definitely believe that DS was creepy toward her, at best.

I'm not against waiting for marriage (I did it myself), but I find it very odd, knowing what we know, that he agreed to that. Was this a mutual choice? Did he pretend to be HV until marriage? Did he make her wait so he had his "prize" of her virginity? IME, this arrangement tends to work more if both parties are virgins or the non-virgin party is content with waiting. Same experience here. Plus, perhaps just luck, but I’ve never had an unsavory experience with a man there in my 3 years of going to my local gym. No creeps, no guys acting like I didn’t know what I was doing bc I’m a woman. Have only been asked out once and he did so in a respectful way. Not to mention, local chains tend to be much more reasonably priced.

I know a lot of people feel a certain way about Hillary, but it was pathetic and hilarious to hear people say that she was too emotional to be in office while simultaneously hating her for being "cold." While I stan this, I'm also leary of guys who wait an uneccesary amount of time to "let" you post about them on SM. Definitely don't post until you're official. But I've had friends who had been exclusive with a guy for months, even going on a year, but the guy still wouldn't let them post even one mention of them. Unsurprisingly, these guys ended up being cheaters or were flakier about the relationship than they led on.

That's the thing; I'd hope it would be a mutual decision on your part. Nothing wrong with that. There's a difference between "We will never get married because we do not believe in marriage/do not see its value/mutually agree to be civil partners" and "I've been wanting a ring for 4 years but he still claims he is not ready, despite having 2 kids and putting down a $50K down payment on a house".

Thank you! I know marriage isn't something to take lightly. And I don't want to downplay how rough divorce can be. But I never understood why a $30 legal document is seen as the biggest commitment ever, but buying a $150K-300K+ property for 30 years, or creating humans that will be bonded through you for the next 75-80 years is seen as no big deal.
