I am more than happy to discuss politicians from both parties most prominently in the Democratic party people like Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer amassing their fortunes through lobbyists and special interest groups but Bernie Sanders isn't one of them. You can take a look at this Forbes article for context. The figures cited are extremely conservative for a career politician especially when you compare him to others that have been in Congress as long as he has been.

That's a ridiculous equivalence with regards to Bernie Sanders. He served for 16yrs as a house rep and they make 150k+/yr. 16yrs at that salary + several as a Senator and in various other posts like mayor, which essentially puts him at 25yrs at the most conservative estimates of earnings upwards of 100k. Him becoming a millionaire especially with a very successful book deal also isn't mind boggling or at all similar to televangelists that literally beg for donations in the name of faith...

So I consider myself to be a Liberal but I am caught off guard by the sheer number of liberals that are unhappy when people "make it" financially so to speak. Maybe this is just a very loud faction but I recall the outrage over Bernie Sanders owning a nice home and more recently some progressive commentator buying a 2.2M home.
