Many have told me to do it, but I prefer to not risk it all on a biased justice system.

Still living with the consequences. I feel a lot of anxiety walking around in public in fear of being recognized, because the false allegations went so far through word of mouth. I might get some peace once I move out. Lost all of my friends, even when I proved my innocence they didn't care because their mind was already made up. It's been very lonely. All because of one girl, one lie.

A very similar thing happened to me in high school. Life becomes a living hell, everything falls apart.

AntiFeminism? This is not what people are here for.

This is why you should marry legally when you're serious about someone, so you can better defend your assets and rights such as a prenuptial agreement.

In most countries, after some time living together (among other things such as sharing income) marriage laws apply anyway. This is especially true for countries that put a lot of value on marriage.

Take care of yourself man, best of luck.

Haven't thought about it like that.

Take care of yourself and stop posting such things like this to undermine men. You already got yourself 'punished' at r/TrueOffMyChest, as moderators took appropriate actions. So take perspective of other people and look inward, see who you are and how you treat people in the world around you. In short: stop being a bad person.

They were prescribed. I misused them. Teenagers and benzodiazepines are not the best combination, but I think I would not be here if not for them and my antidepressants (though they don't work as much now).

Depends on the dosage. If you mean to get high, then yeah, it sucks and you won't remember anything. But for my anxiety/panic attacks it works wonders, and for the dosage I take the side-effects are minimal.

The truth did come out (to some), and people didn't really care. But I suspect, with the way she keeps making peoples lives hell, that she'll make an even bigger scandal and expose herself to everyone. One can't keep doing stuff like this and running away with it forever. But honestly, I hope she changes for the better and make some good in the world (too optimistic, probably). Maybe even apologize and try to correct her mistakes, but I don't expect that will happen.

Nor given the attention they deserve once a person proves they're innocent.

Yep. Even if people believe you, they don't want to be associated with you anymore because your reputation has gone downhill and too many believe you to be guilty even without evidence. So there's no motive for anyone to help you out, they don't want the bad rep. for themselves. It's in these sort of situations that we know who really are our friends, and we discover that not many of them actually are. You're on your own, or at least appreciate and keep close those that remain by your side. Good…

Yep. Had to learn from experience it was not a good idea, and it sent me to a downward spiral of severe depression that I don't wish to go back to.

My mother lied in court that my father beat me and my brothers. It's rough out there. Good for you that you won, at least.

Depression and anxiety. I don't go to parties.

I heard she tried ruining another man's life with similar lies, I don't know how effective that one went though.

Yes, I also knew about this from a third-party. Soon after, my whole world turned upside down.

I got evidence of my innocence saved everywhere. No way am I letting that go.

Shame I'm not in the US. I would've probably sued, but then again, the reason this sub exists is because the justice system is biased against men in these sort of cases (and others), so I'd be shooting myself in the foot.

Personally, I don't go that far. But if drugs/alcohol are involved I am careful, and other people need to be there as witnesses just in case.

Laws protecting underage people prevent that from happening. Even if I did so now, it's really not in my best interest, unless she kept on spreading the false allegations everywhere. Technically, it has been spread everywhere, so it's out of my control. I never want to see her again. True evil.

Doesn't matter if I would've gone to jail or not. Rumor spread through the entire high-school, then to another that I migrated to, and then the whole town was in the know. My reputation was ruined and I couldn't go 'door-to-door' explaining my innocence. I also didn't want to stir up any kind of civil suits as I didn't have the money to back them up. She did though, and it scared me.

Genuinely I didn't want to cheat on my girlfriend. I was very inexperienced with alcohol but I thought I had enough self-control to not black out. I was a teenager with very little experience. It was an immature situation overall, but I promise, hand on the bible, that I didn't mean for any intimate thing to happen. But it did, and I lost someone precious to me, and I deserved it because I was stupid.

Laws in my country are very weird when it comes to crimes while underage and coming to legal age. I was in a very dark time in my life and didn't want to bother, just never wanted to see her again, and I believe (I hope) I won't because I think she moved states. Also, what the other guy said.

After making up the narrative to her mother some days later of missing school, they went to the police. As far as I know, all they found was that her vagina was "irritated"(?). Meaning she could've just rubbed one out really hard before-hand. Nevertheless, she claimed to have a document about the report but never showed it to anybody, not even to me. Knowing full well how far she can go to ruin people, according to the stories I've heard after this, I didn't even want to bother going to a court …

I was falsely accused of rape once. Even though she didn't press charges, the rumour still follows me around. I started knowing about it when it was too late already. I'm glad I have evidence to back me up, in case it ever comes to bite me.

That kind of thinking has become more and more common. It's just pure hatred, there's nothing good about that. I've seen friends of mine saying that type of stuff and it's hard to tell if they're being serious. The fact is, people can be abusive, corrupt, and antagonistic. It's not specific to a single gender, race, or nationality.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
