I worked in a pediatric OR and would need both parents consents for any procedure or treatment. My most common experience with elective circumcisions were that both parents were very much in support of the process (surgeon would have to explain risks while signing consent, both parents would enthusiastically agree to it). Most parents did it for religious/cultural reasons. Never once did I see a woman ‘overrule’ her husband about this decision.

Yeah this has been my experience as well. It’s kind of crazy that women are getting all the blame here - it can be either or both of the parents who make the decision.
