What's interesting to me is that there's no context to this power dynamic. Without an informed and negotiated consent, kink can be abuse, yet people will still find it a turn on just on sight. Is abuse sexy?

Men as a group aren't inherently less romantic, but the men they're thinking of, who came through their lives, were. They then extrapolate this to all men when in reality it's just the ones fucking them.

Steroids, Tinder, and liquor. That'll get you out of that hole.

I wonder if it was a moral triumph that slavery ended or of it was because of the introduction and widespread use of industrial machines. What if the machines could now do the work, so slaves were less needed, which made abolishion more sensible or allowed the moral arguments to win.

Gay men can absolutely be huge misogynists. I heard a theory that the reason is that since they don't pursue women, they don't have to wear a veneer of decency. I think that's a "misandrist" take, though. I think it's because of women's homophobia and expectations around male behavior and their reactions to men who don't align with a heteronormative ideal that creates a reactive misogyny. Maybe they're just terrible, though, I don't know. But yeah, I've seen the borderline or outright sadistic w…

When being single becomes more intolerable than dating.

Lol I've worked in an office where everyone is trying to get each other fat too.

I actually think it's the opposite. We live in such a safe, sanitized world that douchebaggary has a broad appeal. There's no danger, and people react to that by acting out. When life is genuinely dark and scary, like a war zone, I'd imagine kindness would sexier.

I will say it's a worse situation to be in than taking awhile in terms of the her satisfaction, but at the same time, if you nut in them, then evolutionarily speaking, you've won.

Would anyone willingly walk into a "beta-bux" type situation? If there was someone who liked you in part for your "emotional stability", who was looking for a life exempt from drama, but with whom the sex was not particularly earth shattering, would that be worth getting into for the companionship and the constant availability of that person? Or would someone be better off holding out for better?

I feel like you're either being agreeable and telling me what you think i want to hear, or you're intentionally trying to ruin my life. The seriousness of your tone seems misplaced, but I'm not trying to be a dick, just cautious. It is only a few hundred bucks and not the end of the world, and we look so good together.

She sent me a text saying she's willing to fuck outside near her home lol. Wildcard, I'm disoriented. Apparently, she just doesn't know a good place around her home.

I can't tell if you're being serious. You're saying this behavior is impossible with intent?

A woman I slept with a few weeks ago told me yesterday that she wanted to meet again, and because my place didn't work, I got a hotel and booze. Then, a few hours before, she canceled, saying her sitter couldn't stay. Thing is, I'm fucking certain that she's lying. I don't exactly why, but I'm not happy with this, especially after spending a bunch of money. I do like her more than usual. Should I call this out, never see her again, or just drop it and try again?

2 weeks ago, I met someone, and we scheduled another meet today last night. She's a single mother. I couldn't meet her at my place so I booked a hotel and I bought booze. She's now telling me that her sitter can't stay late and she can't come. Am I wrong for thinking that's it? I spent a few hundred today because she said she could be here. I like her, but she absolutely wasted my time and money, and her texts feel too casual, given the circumstance.

Is it possible that women won't be as serious about me because I have a long beard? I'm getting in my head about this.

I don't know about you, but I'd feel pretty silly if I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ended up stabbed or shot.

There are obviously women hooking up through apps, a lot of them. Your point about this being a sub for Western dating dynamics shows you're not arguing in good faith. I have a global figure. It's easy to extrapolate Western demographic size from it. Trivial. To use that as a gotcha is disingenuous.

There are 24 million monthly active tinder users who are women across the globe. If we assume 10 percent are willing to have sex with someone they met on there, that's 2.4 million women.

You already realize this, which I can see by you hedging with "most women" there for a second, but you're creating a narrative around "women" based on your own feelings. There are tens of thousands of women on dating apps having casual sex. The demographic is large enough to warrant discussion about it.

I've been thinking about this this morning. The quality of the time together and especially the sex is just not what it is compared to someone who actually likes you. I'm not sure what reason a guy would have to be in a relationship like this other than being ignorant or desperate. I'm sure he aware that something isn't right, even if he can't articulate it. It's not even that she's used to being treated poorly, she most likely craves it on some level.

I've been thinking about this this morning. My first girlfriend was like this, and I just met another one a few weeks ago, and it's bringing it back. In both cases, they were just out of an abusive relationship. I don't think she actually likes me, just that I'm healthier for her. I'm going to sideline her because shit is giving me flashbacks. The quality of the time together and especially the sex is just not what it is compared to someone who actually likes you.

I'm a guy, but this is how I solved dieting for myself. Every day I make a soup. The base is 500g split green peas for 1700 calories and, importantly, 130g fiber. Then I load it with unlimited vegetables and whatever protein to get up to maybe 2500 calories. I let it cook for a while so that the peas dissolve, then I eat out of that through the day. I'm never hungry. Combine that with a 5-6 mile run mostly every day, and it's been genuinely easy.
