Take accountability for the ways that society currently privileges women, and work to alleviate the societal disadvantages currently applied to men. Practically, this means things like splitting the bill on first dates and not participating in lopsided social arenas like online/app dating. Happy to provide more examples or discuss if needed.

You make good points, but I'd argue that as the result of misinformation or not if their action are to the detriment of men... there's some strong-rooted negative feelings there. For example, the Warren Farrell protest at the University of Toronto. I think I'd be difficult to argue that those protestors were saying the things that they were based purely on misinformation.

I would start with the assumption that both adults involved should have the right to not be parents and go from there. The way that this law is proposed would not grant men the right to step away from parental obligations, only terminate the option for women to do so. It's a step in the wrong direction, I feel.

Sorry, but any situation where men are unilaterally paying for something that benefits women but not themselves is a clear-cut case of sexism. It may be self-imposed sexism or involuntary, but it's still sexism. While your point about childbirth is valid, it is also an irregular expense that not every woman will incur over the course of her lifetime. Compared to BC which depending on the type you're talking about is expensed monthly to yearly, it is a much lower increase on a man's premium.

The only thing I can think of that feminism has done for men is supporting men that don't fit into their stereotypical idea of masculinity (trans men, gay men, etc.) and allowing them a greater degree of freedom of expression. However, this certainly isn't worth suffering setbacks like VAWA and the Duluth model of domestic violence.

While I'll agree that traditionally women have held the post of homemaker, I disagree that that's all that they should be doing. Just as not all men are suited to working to bringing in the bread, not all women are suited to raising a family. FGM differs in intensity according to what areas of the genitals are removed. The WHO have several different classification levels for the practice (link). As a personal side note, whether or not some forms of FGM are worse does not disqualify MGM from being a terrible thing. The non-consensual removal of erogenous tissue is a bad thing, no matter the genitals involved (except for express medical purposes, of course).

Actually, it's a female representative... which currently elicits somewhat mixed feelings. She may be seriously entertaining the proposal, or she may just want to see what crackpot crawled out of the woodwork this week.
