Omg, the gaslighting thing, my boyfriend does that too! I call it “reverse gaslighting” in my head, but I don’t know how accurate that is. What usually happens is he imagines (incorrectly) my motives for saying or doing things that piss him off, and when I tell him he’s imagining things, he’s crazy, etc. (all the typical things gaslighters say), All of a sudden, I’m the bad guy. I don’t know… I think this should be taken on a case by case basis. I am very close to my 2 ex-step kids, although they’re adults now and I haven’t had any contact with my ex in almost ten years. If any man I dated had a problem with that I’d tell him to take a hike. It is super sketchy that he has so much contact with his ex, though.

Fine, thin, straight hair here. No, not at all. I’ve tried it several times over the years, and it just doesn’t work for me. I’ve seen other girls on some of the beauty subreddits say the same. I don’t know if you’re dead set on a ring, but I have the diamond from my mother’s original engagement ring (they got married quickly, my dad upgraded her ring later) just set as a solitaire pendant on a necklace. Yep, that’s me! The guy I was with through most of my 30’s had 2 kids and didn’t want any more. I was always on the fence about kids. So I was like, ok, as long as we’re going to get married one day and you make me a part of your family I can live with that. Never got married and didn’t break up until I was 39. This is oh so true! My relationship with the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with ended after his 19 year old pregnant daughter moved in with us and didn’t leave until the baby was almost four. Guess who ended up with the baby most of the time? They created so much stress and trouble in our house. Not that I don’t love her, but it’s not what I signed up for at all. Oh, I get what you mean, I did tell a massively condensed version of the story. She is 100% manipulating her. It’s driving her other step-grandchildren and other niece crazy too. I’m in my 40’s. It’s next to impossible to find good men who are also child free. I really don’t like dating single dads, but I’ve basically resigned myself to the fact that I can’t rule them out entirely. Even if they are older! I see women say that they’ll only date men with older kids, but that is no guarantee they won’t still affect your relationship. As much as I love those kids with all of my heart, I 100% believe if she hadn’t come home from college pregnant to live with us for almost four years, her father and I might still be together.
