Yes he did, he said, "what I meant to say was.." How can one clarify more than that? If your criteria for political office is someone completely devoid of sin, not even Jesus Christ himself could meet that description. Criticizing without offering an alternative isn't productive.

I'll stick with appropriately regulated capitalism, with a side of get the corporate lobbyists the hell out of Washington. I'm in agreement with everything you said. ^ this especially. I guess the question is just, how do we best get there. Actually one place where I differ from Bernie on is, I think we should cut corporate taxes and make up for revenue loss by taxing income of top earners. I was also not aware of how his plans would hurt small businesses. Do you have any sources so I could lear…

I did not know what "pass through taxation" was thank you for the explanation. I was under the impression that under his plan no one making under $250,00/year would see an increase. I think low taxation = good for economy may be a little bit too simplistic. If those taxes collected are allocated to prop up lower and middle income people this would increase demand and thus increase opportunity for business. Edit: it also seems like the economy has grown much more under more progressive administra…

I didn't find anything in that video I disagreed with sanders on. Could you provide more specific examples of what you mean by too much regulation/taxes?

This quote, that you cite, is the only instance of Bernie mis-speaking I have seen. One in which, the day after, he immediately clarified his statement. Show me another politician with a record even close to as clean as his.

Your only defense for Trump is that Hillary kills people?

There is definitely evidence, everyone he hires and is around him seams to have connections with the Russians. The fact that he is the only one in American politics that praises Putin is pretty blatant evidence. If those things aren't cause for concern I don't know what is. Imagine if Hillary, or anyone else, had all this Russia stuff going on; the GOP would absolutely be loosing their shit but for some reason he gets a pass. He has called it a Muslim ban throughout his whole campaign. Either he…

He said he wouldn't cut Medicare, he supports just that, he said he would release his tax returns, he hasn't, he said he would drain the swamp he's done the exact opposite, etc.

I will continue to speak out for men's rights, but I will not vote for, destroying the earth, supporting the sale of politicians, tax cuts for the rich, kicking 22million Americans off their healthcare, etc. I have to vote my conscience.

I think the Trump-Russian connection is abhorrent. It's unamerican and dangerous. The fact that he constantly lies to the American people. The fact that he can't keep militarily sensitive information secret. I am an avid fisherman and I think the repeal of the stream protection rule is terrible. I disagree with leaving the Paris agreement. Climate change is not a "hoax created by China." I disagree with cutting medical coverage for 22million people. I think the Muslim ban is extremely unamerican…

As a men's rights activist I agree with you; as a human being, I can't support Trump or Devos.

What are some examples? (Not saying you're wrong I'm just interested in the subject and want to learn more.)

Get that past a 56% female voting majority where both women (strongly) and men (weakly) have greater concern for women's issues. I mean isn't this the point of this movement, to facilitate a greater concern for men's issues? Stating the reason why it will be hard and why it hasn't happened yet doesn't explain why we shouldn't work to make it so. I would say progressive ideology is to make things more equal, not entirely equal, (in economic terms.) That being said, why shouldn't males and females…

Except the veteran programs have been gutted ad the homeless groups focus on women. This is the problem right? So we should advocate for there to be more support for veterans and more support for homeless men. When you say "men" what you're really talking about is some men, not all men. You are conflating the wealth of wealthy men with men in general. Men tend to be more likely to be homeless, more likely to have drug addictions, etc. The fight shouldn't be to take away the remaining support the…

equality and egalitarianism are ultimately anti-male endeavors. I'm not sure what specifically you mean by "equality and egalitarianism" but social programs that help veterans and the homeless are not anti men as both of those groups tend to be male dominated. Not to mention things like investing in infrastructure, medical research, a healthcare system that provides mental health coverage, doing away with private prisons, all could provide more help to men. I don't think you can say that governm…

I agree, they're using racial slurs as a way to criticize him but you must see the difference between that and this and being Republican doesn't actually mean that though. That's debatable but my point is, that's what their issue was, not that he is less than because of his race.

They are not saying "you're black, therefore you must be a democrat." They're saying, your political ideology isn't helping african americans of which you happen to be.
/r/MensRights05/04/17 10:56 PM

First, this is an anecdotal sample. Second, those people calling him hurtful names doesn't mean they hate black people as a whole. They are calling him those names, (even though it is wrong to do so,) because they are concerned about what his actions will do, not because they have a bias against his race.

How is it patriarchy that's doing this? It's because patriarchy is responsible for all the negative things in society right? It's because of patriarchy that men graduate college at a much lower rate. It's patriarchy that men are shamed for their baldness. It's patriarchy that men are shamed for their sexual desires, etc. it's all just patriarchy right?

I would wait about a week or so. Try and be light and funny around her and everyone else like nothing happened. after the week or so tell her something like, "hey, we should go out tomorrow night" if she shuts you down in anyway, drop it and act like it never happened and don't give her as much attention as you normally do after that.

Yes that title 9 letter was a lapse in judgment but he has also stood up to the far left I agree that the democrats aren't entirely guiltless but if it only matters what the top people in charge are doing then should I assume all Reps think most people coming over the boarder are rapists, that Putin deserves praise, that Muslims should be banned, that it's ok to constantly lie to the American people, etc?
/r/MensRights28/03/17 11:42 PM

Yes it does. I'm saying judge "the left" based on those main policy points, not the fringe left's extremist shrieking.
/r/MensRights28/03/17 10:40 PM

I definitely think it matters what the majority wants but good point. I guess the left and the right aren't so different after all.
/r/MensRights28/03/17 09:45 PM

I agree that categorization is necessary but if you group all of the left in with the SJWs then you dismiss the good that we do in terms of economic policy, environmental policy, gay marriage policy, etc. If you refer to them as the "fringe left" or the "radical left" than you don't run into these problems.
/r/MensRights28/03/17 09:17 PM

See I'm not sure it is "the left" who is this extreme. I think it may only be a loud minority who think speech should be governed by law.

How do we expel them? is the right responsible for the racists?

I absolutely agree, it should not be illegal, but, I can prefer to be called those things. It's your decision whether you want to respect/indulge my preferences.

Link Edit: I enjoyed the substance of the conversation but I felt some of the terminology was lazy. I think of myself as a left leaning individual but I still believe in free speech and hard work. I think some of his phrasing falls into the very critique he is expressing. He is grouping "the left" together without a realization that this entity is compromised of varied individuals. It's just like saying "all republicans are racist."

But that doesn't negate the fact that people have personal preferences. It's true, you can't expect someone to not think of you the way they will, but you can still prefer to be called x.
