Glad to hear you had the happy ending in this. Slightly related q: so a couple of good friends of mine have both been married a few years and just had their first kids. What's the best/most diplomatic way to suggest a paternity test to them? (These are guys who both trust their wives a lot, so would almost certainly get upset at any insinuation of cheating.)

Investment in myself, rather than in others who don't deserve it. In my BP days I would be more concerned about looking good for others, and how they perceived me. I was the idiot nice guy who would pick up the tab after a date, and caring more about what the girl thought of me than what I thought myself. The past year or so has been about making myself calmer, more knowledgeable, more healthy and more secure. I've spent a lot more time reading well, working out (and in addition to the physical …

Just reinforces the values of stoicism. When you can keep your calm as others lose theirs and get upset, people look at you as a leader, someone who can be trusted and won't do ridiculous shit just because of anger or pressure. And in a relationship, this means you'll be treated with a lot more respect and a lot fewer shit tests. Being muscular/in shape is essential, of course. But the angry muscular guy who flies into a rage at the slightest provocation is viewed very differently from the one w…

TRP and alpha behavior is not about being a total dick. It's about being assertive and sure of yourself. You can still be altruistic and generous to others while maintaining that. The "nice guy" frame that's laughed at here is the idea of doing nice/apparently altruistic things with a motive that people are too weak minded/unassertive to actually bring up. EG buying a girl's dinner with the expectation that she'll go out with the guy again. Just know whom you should be generous/nice towards, and…

The real 5 reasons to major in women's studies: It hurts to do algebra, calculus, statistics, or anything else remotely mathematical. You don't have to memorize formulas, constants, or coefficients. Word processing, programming, and presentation skills are only optional and generally unnecessary. You can present via interpretive dance if you want! There are no wrong answers, and thus everything you say or write can be correct and special, just like you, dear snowflake! You can look down at all y…

I liked some of it in the first season, where they were just having fun with the OCD Sheldon character and making him as over the top as possible. Once the focus became everyone's relationship or lack of, then it became godawful to watch.

I guess it's pretty funny. The whole "nerds can't talk to women" schtick is so overplayed I can't help but get salty over it. Yup, a ridiculous stereotype fueled by some of the crap on shows like Big Bang Theory. Most of the scientists/engineers/doctors I know or have worked with are anything but socially awkward. Guys in research almost always have great presentation skills. Tell a cute girl to go stand in front of 150 people at a conference, all of whom are incredibly smart and ready to pick h…

Yup. As a loose generalization, men tend to prefer a feminine woman. Long hair, good figure, and then the ability to cook or keep the house clean are attributes that make her more valuable. That's not to say that a woman with shorter hair can't be attractive. But to the dismay of feminists (and surprise of nobody on here), a majority of guys on OKC don't seem to be interested in women with pixie cuts, "body acceptance" figures and career oriented minds.

True, that was just strange. Way old, and likely a fatty without the body shot. Then again maybe the combination of redhead + long hair + breasts + likely an easy desperate lay got her some ratings.

Tall girls are insanely picky, and hate dating guys shorter than them. Most of em are also insecure enough that they feel too large when dating shorter guys, so they'll only date their height and up. Your SMV for a woman like that is damn high. You're the type of person she wants, not someone she's settling for, hence why she's messaging you first. Go in knowing that. Don't go in thinking that her SMV is higher than yours, because it's not - unless you're lowering yours and placing her on a pede…

Absolutely not. Prenups can be invalidated for a whole lot of reasons, women can claim coercion, judges/courts can overturn them on their own whims if they feel the prenup terms are "unfair", and if you don't list EVERY single possible thing as an asset, they'll be ignored because you failed to disclose. I wrote a longer thing some time back about how prenups are essentially useless - see /r/TheRedPill/comments/1xbwqk/some_truths_about_prenups_and_divorce_law/ for more.

I am disgusted by the mentality of "well, all guys at Duke are rich, white and privileged, so we can blame them for everything and shame them as we want." Seems that the women at Duke can do whatever the fuck they want and hide behind this excuse. Anyone remember the Karen Owen case? Feminism is basically the result of middle or upper class white women who decided that a women's studies program got them a college degree with less effort than a STEM or intense psychology/economics program. Solipsism and women go together. Of course these rich white women aren't going to be as concerned with sex trafficking or poverty or real issues; that way feminism can't be about them. It's not in their solipsistic nature to make other people's problems a real priority ahead of theirs. If t…

It would be really easy for TRP to turn into a circlejerk of people who just call everything beta and relentlessly rant about/make fun of women. Occasionally it might veer that way if we have a bunch of MRAs or other angry men who suddenly come across this via AskReddit or something else, but the moderation and a lot of the veteran posters here do a good job keeping this on topic. TRP's definitely far less circlejerk-y, more open minded and less clique-y than most subreddits here.

If I was a woman instead, I doubt I'd have achieved as much in terms of my career. Easy validation for having a pussy and just taking basic care of my hair and makeup might have meant I never got through high school and college with top grades, succeeded in both academia and business, and earned my own wealth instead of leeching off others. Not to mention that with the way even fat chicks enjoy plenty of orbiters and beta male attention, I'd hope for a genetic lottery to keep me in shape, rather…

Remember solipsism. Any time a woman tells a story, the world revolves around her. She's always the heroine, the snowflake, the one never at fault. So it's always others around - jealous women, her horrible ex, blah blah - who are responsible for the bad things in her life. Never her.

No, New England women in general generally are fucking awful. The term Connecticunt exists for a reason. Boston is full of preachy feminists, or spoiled college brats who think that they're well travelled and worldly because they spent four months on study abroad in Barcelona or Tuscany. Most of the women from the countryside (RI, Vermont, etc) look as if they've been bred on corn since birth. Heifers.

I've seen women actually put "mother" on their resumes or LinkedIn profiles at times. Wonder when men will add to their CVs/resumes the fact that they handle the household investments, or clear the driveway of snow in winter, etc. At the end of it, it's just women asking for more validation and attention for this. Just try and ignore it.

Women's studies programs are complete bullshit and teach you nothing useful. I doubt men's rights/studies programs would do much different. But my concern is the visible double standard, in terms of one being a well funded program at most liberal arts colleges these days, and the other being anathema.

This is right out of the old English class system; how poorer, lower class people were taught to be servile and deferent to the wealthy. It's a shame some people still live in that world, and perceive every woman as someone to serve and please, rather than as an equal individual. Meanwhile, when was the last time a woman got turned on by the sight of a butler, porter or servant carrying her bags or opening doors for her?

what do you mean, WOULD? It's been happening for a while now. Men put in more hours at work, are inclined to challenge themselves and push for more competitive jobs that have great potential for upward mobility, are responsible for the majority of economic production/output in this country, and yet feminism's ideas of reducing male influence and presence in the workplace for "equal opportunity" dominate most HR/hiring procedures. Dread game, and threaten to make your own plans. The threat of hanging out watching basketball with some of your other single buddies, or heading out with them to be a friend's wingman might get her to shit herself. Women will all say they don't like making a big deal of V-day, but most dread the thought of being alone on it. Especially if they've been in an LTR for a while and can't handle being alone.

Yes, but assets appreciate over time, and prenups do not protect that or even consider for inflation. You don't buy property in a hot area now because it's worth X dollars, and you think it'll still be worth X in a decade. You buy it because you see a major potential for appreciation. Prenups strip away that gain, treat the asset as worth its original price (even if it had gone up by an order of magnitude from a shrewd investment) and entitle women to benefits from investments made outside marri…

Yeah, heart disease is awful, and it's criminal that men don't get the same information access or support here that women do. Hence why it's all the more important that men are aware of what they can do for their own chances here. I dunno who advocates SS for anyone losing weight - it's about bulking your core/legs on a caloric surplus. For losing weight, start by going on a deficit. But it's good as a strength program (hence the name), not if you want to just shred your arms . For that, check out the Biceps bible over at bodybuilding.com. The speshul wimmen standard here is fucking ridiculous. If you have Asian (Chinese, Korean in particular) friends with kids, watch how they treat the kids when they misbehave. They don't indulge tantrums, entitlement, or let the children behave as if they're on pedestals just because they won a prize in school or got on the honor roll. If the kids act up, they'll punish them by ending their interactions (silence, or sending them to their rooms right away, or excluding them from some activity). Compliment effort, not outcomes. Don't tell her the dinner she cooked for you is really great, but rather tell her you like the effort she put into it. If compliments are positive reinforcement, they should be for putting effort into making herself better/more attractive to you, not just for looking good or doing something nice, even if it took minimal effort. And avoid superlatives, always. Never tell her she's "the best" at anything.

The intensity of censorship of TRP views/ideas just confirms the value of a lot of what is said on here. If people are threatened by ideas, they censor them. If they view the ideas just irrelevant, stupid and pointless, they'll let them be, as they don't feel threatened by them.

Some people hire PIs to follow their SOs around and see if they're cheating. There's a difference between monitoring behavior, and entrapment. A police car may follow a driver suspected to be drunk or reckless. That's monitoring. That's acceptable, if there's adequate suspicion. But the police won't drive in a way that'll try and provoke another driver into reckless/aggressive behavior that he wouldn't have engaged in otherwise, e.g. cutting the guy off, flashing high beams behind him. Men are capable of admitting they're wrong when they've made a mistake and are confronted about it. Women sit and sulk. Men don't engage in pointless water cooler gossip the way women do, which can really hurt the functioning and morale of a good team. Men won't blame frequent productivity drops on hormones, or days when they're incapable of working with other people like adults on their period cycles. They're not going to demand months off with paid leave, while expecting full compensation and …

Not like I didn't expect it. The feminist mentality is confirmation bias taken to an extreme. If it fits the "evil patriarchy, poor repressed women" narrative, they'll listen to it and treat it as truth. Otherwise, they ignore it and rationalize one reason after another as to why it's wrong.

When you go out clubbing or for drinks, keep something with you that's noticeably old, worn out or really out of date. Maybe a distinctively cheap watch beneath a nice dress shirt or jacket, or one of those old-style cell phones that people forgot about when smartphones came around. If I pull out an old phone like that or pull back the sleeve of my shirt to show an old, beat up watch, I'll wait for the woman's reaction. For a few in their 30s, they realize it. An iota of reality enters their head when they crash into the wall, and they realize that the only way to compete with a cute 20 or 23 year old chick might be to open their legs every night, start each morning with a blowjob, and be as giving and willing as imaginable. Because in that lies their one chance of snaring a beta provider before they dry up completely to a point that even the average beta will just look at them with pity.

No denying that things like abuse of tax loopholes and trust funds are issues that make inequality worse. But those are issues for a very, very small subset of people with 8 or 9 figure net worths. If you give up on yourself then enjoy being powerless because nobody else gives a fuck. Great point (and a great piece.) Men, unlike women, do not have incredibly generous welfare policies and feminized courts to look after them and care for them. A lot of women can essentially give up on themselves, but still leech off alimony or child support systems; men cannot. Fully agreed. Feminism is about politics, not the accumulation of knowledge. Philosophers of thought/science such as Lakatos or Popper have written about how knowledge is accumulated from methods such as developing hypotheses and testing or falsifying them. Some of the worst white knights are those who feel they automatically are entitled to affection or sex by result of paying for a woman's meal/coffee/drink/etc, and then get upset when they see other men enjoying the same, while clearly not paying for other women like that. A young, attractive woman shooting porn movies is not that different from the likes of a talented, athletic 20 year old playing professional basketball or baseball while he has the physical prowess. After a certain point when skills and the body diminish, that ability goes and they can either retire, or find another realm of work. It is strange how when a talented youngster like Mike Trout plays baseball, most men are able to admire those skills that make him unique and appreciate it. But when a…

Her "book" reviews on Amazon are fucking brilliant. The excerpts remind me of what my more slack-jawed, hungover students wrote on pop quizzes when they were just hoping to get a basic D. So if she's a writer for putting out this sort of junk, then I guess most of us on here are Nobel laureates by the same barometer?

I'm sure plenty of other men are quite happy that she's single too.

by American standards, she might even be svelte. Especially for Nashville. I wish I knew her, just for the sheer schadenfreude that I'd enjoy when she's in her 30s.

Third wave feminists: people who spend so much time overanalyzing, (mis)interpreting and obsessing over sex and gender that they lose the ability to actually enjoy sex, relationships, or time with the opposite sex. On an aside, thank heavens all my colleagues and employees are mathematicians, scientists, economists, or engineers, and there's not one fucking women's studies/gender studies graduate in my firm.

Perhaps my take on it is slightly different (from my time a few years ago teaching at a university and doing research in multiple social science departments): With the way modern feminism is taught in college these days in programs of sociology, international relations, womens/gender studies, it starts out as a study of how outcomes and roles are different in society for men and women, and then examines inequalities that emerge. Essentially, this just creates a victim mentality - male-dominated …

I'm only surprised that he's looking for a Caucasian woman in that age range who has gone to a top Ivy-caliber school or grad school, and spent time abroad. That's just screaming for the type of brattish, entitled girl who knows everything about the world and then some because she spent six months in Barcelona or Italy during study abroad, or vacationed a bit in Europe on daddy's money, and now considers herself worldly and experienced. But to each his own. As for the HuffPost, I'm so glad they'…

I think of The Game more as a warning than a manual. Yes, it's one way to get some pussy, but it also highlights all the dangers of just going with routines and pre-planned acts, rather than being able to internalize a lot of the meanings and correct your mental/personal approach to life (rather than just women).

You handled it well.No need to jump through hoops at her command like that. It's not a lose/lose situation, she just isn't worth wasting time on.

Ah yes. Women who are more in love with the idea of marriage than with another human being.

Looks are great, but not as important as whether you can pay $300 for some OKC users.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
