Bingo! Reading some of the material in this sub makes me think that reconstruction period is not standard for majority of divorced men.

My narcissistic STBXW is a good mom, but kids are 9/7. I do worry when they become teenagers

Not just patience, but you have to be someone that is desirable to a woman of that caliber. Some guys don’t realize they are expecting too much for what they bring to the table themselves

Someone who is not co-dependent, has their own life, interests, friends, etc. Where we can be our own individuals, but partners who help make each other better people.

Entitlement, she sees it as her money. “Why should I thank you for something I earned and is mine anyways?” Is a likely response if you brought it up.

Yes! It makes intimacy with others easy when you realize how unattractive someone who treats you like pure shit is.

Why am I on this sub? Because I’m a man going through a divorce…. Is this just a misogyny he-man woman haters club? Not every marriage is a scam, teach your sons to not settle, to figure out what they want in a partner, not that they should always avoid marriage, just marriage to the wrong person.

Ah, man I know you’re hurting and this sucks, but just because your marriage ended doesn’t mean your son can’t have a happy and healthy marriage in the future. Don’t project your feelings onto him

So you’re skeptical of google filtering results, but you “research for a living.” Maybe you should find another career path if you aren’t able to find information that isn’t through google? Also, im sensing a lot of paranoia, which makes me wonder how much of your fraud claim is based in reality.

You say you have a deep connection with this hookup, yet she doesn’t know about your divorce or kids? You don’t have a deep connection if that’s the case. Also, figure out what’s best for you, what you want. The important part is being open and honest with those you care about. You will only cause yourself more problems in the future if you truly love and care about people you are lying to about important, intimate information.

If she’s paying and scheduling the appraiser, she doesn’t have to give you access. If you’re worried about it, schedule and pay for your own appraisal

Let the courts decide. Especially if you recently lost your job and are supplementing by driving Uber, you will pay less than what you have been. There are CS calculators online, search it for your specific state and input numbers.

Yeah…. I (M) had an affair with another male. For some reason, after my wife found out, I introduced them (his idea, I went along because I thought it would help her cope). They quickly started an emotional affair that turned into physical and telling each other they love each other in the span of 2 weeks. Not many people would make the same mistake as I have, but just in case you ever think about it, DONT. All of it, just don’t.

I would have asked for a divorce before I started an affair. I would not have connected my ex and my affair partner so they could have an affair together.

Hmm, yeah I had/have nightmares since my STBXW started talking, meeting, fucking guys 2 months ago. Less now than before, but it still hurts and fucking sucks. If she’s not a monster like my ex, she won’t through it in your face. Never once asked about it, but she always had to tell me about her dates despite my insistence I didn’t want to hear. My suggestion is to keep yourself busy. Hobbies, friends, meet new people, go to the gym. NEVER ask her questions about her personal life. She likely wo…

FWB is the way to go. I see several guys saying it isn’t a thing that happens or it can’t be consistent. Here’s the thing about FWB, you have to remember the friend part. Be FRIENDS, don’t expect sex every time you hang out, reach out to them as a friend, not just to fuck. Value them as a friend and it makes the benefits much better. I’m 2 months into my divorce process and have 2 FWB that I talk to and hang out with regularly.

I think it’s important to acknowledge the good times, they happened and of course they did, otherwise you wouldn’t have been together for 13 years. When I find myself thinking too much of the past, I try to think of the future I want and what decisions I need to make to get to that future. Part of that is the future I want isn’t possible with STBX.

Dealing with the same situation. Why is it a fight for 50/50? Should be standard barring valid reasons. Being a SAHM is not a valid reason to get more parental time after divorce. They will no longer be a SAHM.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
