That is exactly correct. Sports bikes are expensive to insure because they're the ones most likely to be involved in an accident and are frequently stolen. Harleys are less expensive to insure because Harley riders aren't involved in many motorcycle accidents, but they are still likely to be stolen. I pay $15 per month to insure my Honda Shadow because Japanese cruiser bikes are both rarely involved in accidents and not a priority target for thieves.

My uncle has been riding for over 40 years and he's never been in an accident. I know everyone likes to scare people about how dangerous motorcycles can be, but as long as you ride safe, maintain situational awareness, and remember to wear your safety gear you're probably fine.

That's what I'm thinking. I mostly ride around town, but when I do take my Shadow 750 on the highway I feel like I'm punishing the poor bike. I have no trouble pushing it up to 90, but I hate keeping it any higher than 70 because that engine is screaming at those speeds. I definitely need something more suited for the highway if I'm going to take a long trip.

I have my primary desktop for gaming, a junker that I plan on turning into a server, and two used Thinkpads I picked up to try different Linux distros (I now highly recommend Lubuntu for older hardware). It does get expensive, as others have stated, and you can expect most of everyone you know to ask you to help fix their computers, but you can get beer out of them if you ask.
