Maslow's was debunked a long time ago. Plenty of men live excellent lives without sex. If sex was a literal need, on par with food and water, escorts would be a lot more in demand.
Ehh, if you base your self worth on biology, the number of kids you pump out should be the measuring stick, not the amount of times you get your johnson wet.
It could be seen as delusion/coping for men who already tried and failed. For men new to the sexual marketplace it makes a lot of sense to not play at all.
It's only a cope if you already got rejected. Some readers are new to the game and in the process of deciding whether its worth it or not. Would you also call them copes?
All good. It's definitely an ego thing. There is little to no physical danger from doing it. The danger is the blow it can deal to your self esteem. That's why you see an increasing amount of guys turning lgbt (20% of generation Z now identiy as lgbt). They find putting makeup on a lot less scary than coping with rejection. You can call them 'weak'. Won't change the trend.
I think men are just tired of the equation. Lay Count = Approaches * Looks * Social Skills. Men who score low on Looks and Social Skills have to approach a lot.
Women have the power of having others come to them. Why would men not be jealous of that? Not saying men are jealous of women in general btw. We are talking about one specific aspect of life here (dating).
