Is insanity a prerequisite for this sub? I know some of the commenters are wild, but there seems to be a pretty good mix of people around here c

I've been in both relationships. While the risky kind have higher highs they also have way lower lows. I would much rather have a relationship that I wasn't constantly worried about rapidly deconstructing itself if I accidentally say the wrong name because I'm tired or distracted. Yeah safe might be "boring" but at the end of the day people can't truly relax and be themselves until they feel safe.

Nope lol. I have watched/read so many kinds of porn it would be hypocritical of me to care if they did exactly the same. Now if they chose porn OVER me then that's an issue, but other than that I don't think I give a hoot.

Well yes location will have a lot to do with how these things go down. I'm in America. Women are default perfect little angels and men are default evil shit bags. Also your last comment about crimes is comical to me. Men absolutely commit more crime, but if you think the numbers on female crimes are even close to accurate I have something sell you lol. Women regularly receive a slap on the wrist in situations where men are arrested. Even when they do actually get in trouble they will receive far…

Relevant to this post most women feel completely fine smacking/hitting men knowing that he is unlikely to hit back because they know if he does he will absolutely go to jail, but the inverse is unlikely. I called the cops because an ex was punching and kicking me. They arrested me when they arrived because they assumed I was the aggressor. Women are always assumed innocent until proven otherwise. Men are always assumed to be at fault until he can prove otherwise. They are much less likely to exp…

I'm sorry but I don't care how hard the hit is. Physical abuse is physical abuse. I am fully aware that if there was a melee brawl between the genders that most guys would absolutely clobber most women immediately. This whole post is to do with frequency of abuse and not severity.

I already responded to a few other comments. I did my best to avoid that CDC study as I was aware of their interesting choices when it came to data grouping.

Accountability in women is such an interesting thing these days. Because if you asked them they would probably all say they hold themselves accountable all the time, but they don't realize how many things they are already getting away with in the first place lol

We really need to go back to leaving other people alone by default as a society. People are way too comfortable putting their hands on other people or their property. I get really annoyed when I see people touching or sitting on cars that aren't theirs. Just another example of poorly raised people I guess.

I can only speak on the bi-erasure from my limited experiences with LGBT community, but I have seen gays and lesbians shit all over bi people for being "fake" gay or lesbian a many times. I don't recall any straight people discounting bi peoples experiences, but I'm absolutely sure that also happens. Probably something like "you aren't bi yorie just confused". From a purely statistical and data driven angle the bi data is an absolute nightmare to sort. Especially since many of the studies now ha…

Yeah I've called out both my sister and mom for casually punching or shoving their partners. They pause and asked their boyfriends if they would prefer they didn't do that and both of them said something similar. It was like "it doesn't physically hurt me, but I would prefer if you didn't do that". Which I can resonate with so much. Because it doesn't hurt and it doesn't leave a mark most people from both sides don't even recognize that as physical abuse most of the time. Many exes have hit me w…

Yeah I tried to avoid that CDC study for that specific reason. Also so many studies lump all bi data together so it's a real mess. Some studies had hetero data on one side and then all LGBT data lumped together on the other. Not particularly useful for trying to nail down which gender is more likely to actually abuse. I'm really not a fan of representing that kind of data when it's not a 1 to 1 representation of the categories.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/25 09:56 PM

I saw many comments about that when I was looking for different studies. That specific study had other issues with lumping data poorly so I tried to avoid it. Then again the other studies I found didn't have significantly different results so maybe they also incorrectly lumped data as well. It's surprisingly difficult to find clearly labeled clean data that was impartially collected in the name of science as opposed to push a narrative.

I'll be 100% honest I went down a rabbit hole of searching in incognito (idk why I do this whenever I'm googling a million things) and I just got three diff sources for each of the numbers and then calculated an average in my phones calculator. I then closed all those incognito tabs and made this post. It took me quite awhile and a lot of digging to find studies that had gay and lesbian data split. Half the time they also threw bi couples in there as well. Really made it difficult to find the "c…

I'm gonna be honest that last part reads like you've been jaded through specific life experiences. Not saying you're outright wrong, but perhaps a bit misguided. I don't think women as a whole are worse at handing anger or backing down from an argument. If anything in my life I would say men (including myself) are worse at handing anger or backing down from an argument. For me personally I have had anger issues my whole life (directed at myself) and I can be incredibly stubborn.

I think mental health services would go a long way to help many of the issues that the human race is facing right now. Sadly that doesn't seem to be on the agenda for any of the major super powers lol.

Just out of curiosity why did you respond to the automod? Do you actually believe if women were bigger and stronger they would just beat men constantly? I think that some women would just be evil abusers, but you really think that most of them would do that? Do you believe that men currently do that seeing as we are generally bigger and stronger than women? I know that some guys just beat women, but I certainly do not believe it's majority of even anywhere close to majority.

I don't see the issue here really. Men leave comments on women's posts constantly. "Man I wish that button would let go". Either all of it is ok or none of it is ok. Personally I'm fine with everyone being able to leave thirsty comments on whatever they want. It's trashy and often inappropriate but they should all be allowed to say it if they want to.

Your response is concerning. I am on your side generally speaking. I'm just saying that your post comes off as driven by anger and frustration as opposed to clear logical thinking. You are assuming I am against you because I am not fully in agreement with your post. That is not the case. You are also using the classic "if you aren't part of x group you can't talk about x thing" argument which is just not helpful in any situation. You don't need to be part of a group to learn about them and advoc…

Listen man. I'm big on men's rights and calling out the blatant misandry that does exist in the world. I feel like this type of thing is very small and ultimately a waste of energy to get our testicles in a twist over. We should focus on the bigger misandrist issues like media portrayal and politicians. Feminists don't want all the damsels in distress tropes in movies and I'm tired of seeing the useless idiot father trope in movies. Ignore individuals who are clearly beyond having a rational con…

I think taking data from reported rapes is somewhat useless information on this particular argument. It's more of an indicator of how comfortable victims are in actually reporting crimes than the actual reality of how often rape is happening. I seriously doubt whales is home to the second highest number of rapes on earth. "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics” — Mark Twain Statistics are incredibly useful tools for processing large data pools, but they are only as use…

I get what you're saying. Those comments come across as just shallow women who have read way too many steamy novels who have their views of reality distorted heavily because of it. It's no different from guys who are mind rotted from porn and think all women should have huge tits and be addicted to dick. In both cases these people are detached from reality and shallow/superficial. No point in taking their opinions seriously.

How is this any different than guys who don't find women like Sabrina Carpenter attractive? Like I can recognize that she's conventionally attractive, but she does nothing for me. People are allowed to have preferences and they aren't inherently misandry or misogy.

Idk man. I'm a guy. I absolutely had a hoe phase. It didn't do much to change my opinions of modern women. I think modern men and women both have lots of issues. Different issues. As long as a woman is honest, monogamous and SDT free I don't really give a crap about her past (sexually speaking). I lost count of my past partners so it would be pretty fuckin hypocritical of me to judge a woman for doing the exact same shit I did on my early 20s.

I'm not a fan of either argument. Yes obviously there are bad faith actors that just pretend to back a movement so they can get in with certain crowds or increase their chances of getting lucky or whatever it is, but not all feminist men are fakers and not all MRA women are just here for the OF link spamming. I also hate the fact that we have gotten to the point were both "sides" have gone the same route as politics with this "us vs them" mentality. Real feminists should be mens rights advocates…

The real sadness is that some dudes can't keep their hands to themselves and this sort of thing is necessary in some places in the first place. There are plenty of things that fit the bill of "every day misandry" but I don't think this particular hill is the one to die on man.

Do you have a source on that pregnancy complications deaths vs circumcision deaths number? From my quick search it seems like ~120 boys die from circumcision complications a year and ~700 women die from pregnancy complications every year in the US alone. I agree with everything else you said but the claim that more boys die from circumcision complications seems unlikely.

Quite literally what drove me away from the left. "Oh you disagree with us on one topic? Get the fuck outta here Nazi" Now I have no love for the right either, but the left has gotta stop pushing people away who don't agree with everything they think. Having disagreements and talking about them together is the only way we can move forward constructively. Just telling everyone who you disagree with to fuck off and then painting them as the devil incarnate is just creating more division every day.…

Listen man I am no big fan of Kamala or anything but what the hell are you talking about about. Republicans don't give a shit about men either. There is no pay gap. There is a gap between the average money a man makes in 40 hours of work and the average money women make in 40 hours of work. That "gap" in average income between the genders comes down entirely to differences in choice. Men are more willing to work dangerous higher paying jobs and women simply aren't. That's it. "Pay gap" explained. The entire "pay gap" thing stems from nobody fucking understanding how to read statistics. More related to your comment if I manually pull up …

Where did you get your data? My family is full of teachers and the topic has come up before but I've never found any good trustworthy source for the data. My super left leaning family will never trust the reporting from right wing Catholic news sites like the one posted the other day. If it's truly happening there has to be some reputable studies done on the matter.

Sounds like nothing of value was lost. Absolutely insane that they would expect you to just give them money since they burned theirs on short term joy (nothing wrong with that, but it is a choice they made). Good riddance. Don't let anyone guilt you into giving them money. Family or otherwise.
/r/MensRights22/10/24 06:35 PM

I feel like you don't have a good grasp on how that famous pay gap figure came to be. All they did was take the average amount of money men made for 40 hours of work and then compared it to 40 hours of work done by women. Without anything done to take into account the fact that men (on average) work in higher paid fields. How that came to be is a completely separate conversation for another time. So no the data to calculate "the pay gap" will have nothing to help with your tax question.
/r/MensRights22/10/24 12:33 AM
1

That's going to be nearly impossible to find. Maybe the IRS knows the answer to your question but I doubt any public info would have what you're looking for. Men on average make money as a gender (not the fuckin pay gap nonsense literally just more high pay hours). So it would stand to reason that men also pay more in taxes because of the higher average income. As for how that money is spent is a complete guess. Idk where you would even start.

... Could you be struggling to find data because men and women are taxed at the same rates? Not exactly sure what you're trying to figure out but as far as I am aware there aren't any gender specific tax breaks lol.

I understand why the whole "believe all women" thing started but like all things bad actors will always take advantage of any system you let them. Disgusting evil women have ruined (or ended) many men's lives without so much as a slap on the wrist. The system needs to be changed. First off they need to be punished for false accusations. At the bare minimum they should serve whatever sentence would have been given to the person they were falsely accusing of a crime. At an absolute bare minimum.

I had an ex try to falsely accuse me of rape but thankfully her ex best friend sent me screenshots of the proof that she had planned on trying to get me arrested under false charges. Thankfully I was able to stop that train before she even started it so my family and the police never had to get involved but seriously fuck the system that we have where women can just destroy a man's life with words.

Women are capable of far more hostility than I think society generally thinks of them. Men are far more likely to maintain friendship with someone they disagree with than women from my experience. Feminism is at the front of the public eye so any women who speaks up for men is immediately assumed to only be doing that because they want attention which is insanely insulting when you think about it. There are of course pick me women who are just doing things because it gets them attention but most…

My father teaches first grade and he gives his students a choice of a wave, high-five, handshake or hug every morning when they line up to come into the classroom. Its completely optional and entirely up to each kid what they are comfortable with. The school got an anonymous complaint about the hugs so he is no longer allowed to accept hugs from students even if they want to hug him.
