Call it whatever you want. The truth is still that there’s nothing special about her. He wanted to settle down and she was an acceptable option in the right place at the right time. Nothing more and nothing less.

Fine. I’ll give you an example. The mere exposure effect as described by psychologist Robert Zajonc. Repeated exposure to a neutral or mildly positive stimulus (including a person) increases liking for it, even without conscious awareness. Simply seeing someone often makes them seem more attractive, trustworthy, and appealing over time. Basically, physical proximity increases the chance of love and marriage. Imagine two similar people. The first one, you see every day. The second one, you see o…

Yet nothing you said was solely the blame of men. That’s exactly the core point. The post claims that only men are responsible for male loneliness. I proved that this is wrong.

Yes but men are reacting to this by blaming women for their problems. Who was it again who was blaming all of their problems on 'muh patriarchy'? Oh right, women… All while not spending the time to create and maintain social networks. Proven by OP and her sources to not be the primary cause of loneliness. Blaming others is high, yet taking personal responsibility for ones choices is low. I clearly wrote in my comment that the social norms about masculinity that might cause problems are upheld by…

And this is why critical thinking is vital when you’re debating complex issues. When you’re searching for an explanation, you’ll find many different theories and most of them will be wrong. Always try to falsify a theory by looking for logical errors and contradictions.

Toxic masculinity is a bullshit leftard propaganda term and doesn’t exist. However, traditional masculinity is encouraged and enforced by men and women. You admitted like three comments ago that women have more and deeper friendships. They also talk about feelings more. Yet your own source admits that women feel even lonelier than men. Clearly, the many deep friendships and emotional conversations didn’t help with the loneliness.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/25 02:29 PM

Which makes the title of your post even more wrong and misandrist. Causes of male loneliness mentioned in the article: Emotional expression: Socialization to suppress emotions. This is enforced by men and women. So not solely men's fault. Socialization patterns: Traditional masculinity discourages from seeking help and support. This is also enforced by men and women. Again, not solely men's fault. Changing social dynamics: Diminishing family structures and increased mobility leads to social isol…

And this isn't just about one example, it's also the constant whining about women who want to fuck serial killers, felons, well known women beaters, etc. It's like it never occurs to these men that those women are either terrible people or dysfunctional and in great need of therapy for whatever mental illness or trauma they have. It’s the female nature to be sexually attracted to dark triad traits, aggression, violence and also masculinity in general. All women have the same female nature. It’s …

Where did you get that 40+ number? Was this changed recently? Even NHS funded research always used the 35+ definition. https://www.hra.nhs.uk/planning-and-improving-research/application-summaries/research-summaries/approaching-childbirth-aged-35-years-and-above/ The recognised definition of advanced maternal age (AMA) is a woman who gives birth aged thirty-five years and over.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/25 10:55 PM
1

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) uses the 35+ definition just like many other health authorities. If you include socioeconomic factors and available resources, then late 20s is probably the sweet spot.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/25 10:08 PM
1

Geriatric pregnancy (now called advanced maternal age) is officially defined as 35+ and not 40+. After that age, it’s a gradual increase of risks for the mother and the baby. Just like it’s a gradual decline in fertility. You can get pregnant and deliver a healthy baby within a wide age range but 20s are optimal. This is what I wrote. It’s the biologically perfect time frame.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/25 09:42 PM
1

The correct age range for having babies is 20 to 30. Female fertility peaks early to mid 20s. That’s when they have the highest per cycle conception rates and the largest reserve of high quality eggs. It’s also the time with the lowest risks of complications and chromosomal abnormalities. Fertility begins to decline around 30 and that accelerates after 35. It’s called "geriatric pregnancy" for a reason. After 40, it gets really bad. Our ancestors usually had children between their late teens and…

There are multiple factors that increase the probability of someone becoming a criminal. But a single parent household itself is definitely a factor. There are studies that control for poverty, education, age, race, population density and many other factors and they did indeed find that simply coming from a single parent household increases the probability of the child becoming a criminal.

From an evolutionary biology perspective, it would make sense for men to prefer virgins since men face paternity uncertainty. There are hundreds of studies looking at males of different animal species and most indeed prefer virgin females. Human males shouldn’t be any different but they have to be a bit more pragmatic about it because there are no reliable physical signs of virginity in human females. Most Americans lose their virginity during their teenage years. Unless you marry your highschoo…

That’s not true. Reddit has a Moderator Code of Conduct that all mods have to follow. Admins can and will remove mods who violate it.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that they took no action. In my case, I didn’t get a response from the admins either. But the mods made an announcement post shortly after. Peak physical attractiveness is somewhere between late teens and early 20s. My personal preference would be, let’s just say, legal teens. Mentally, I’d say at the time when brain performance peaks. Unfortunately, that is far more difficult to determine because the brain has several peaks in terms of its function at different ages. For example, raw processing speed peaks around late teens to early 20s. Short-term memory peaks between mid 20s and mid 30s. Vocabulary improves well into your 50s. Ma…

This 2023 study perfectly encapsulates the core difference between men and women. The researchers examined what happens when someone wins the lottery and suddenly gets a large amount of money. Men: The lottery win strengthened the relationship. Unmarried men were about 30% more likely to marry within five years. For already married men, the divorce risk decreased by up to 40%. Men also wanted to have more children. Women: The only discernible effect was a doubling of the short-term divorce risk…

I’m a pretty decent looking human with a good traits. Yet I’m undateable. Do you know why? Are there specific things that make men avoid you?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 08:14 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/25 01:08 PM

The quality of humans follows a bell curve. Most are ok, some are great and some are terrible. Just by random chance, you should pick more ok men than terrible ones. Therefore, you should have more ok experiences than bad experiences. If you consistently pick terrible men and the majority of your experiences are bad, then you’re the problem.

Early to mid 20s would make sense since female fertility peaks around that time. But 20 was the lowest age you could pick in that data set. In this review of 200k online dating profiles, 18 was the most desirable age. https://www.science.org/doi/pdf/10.1126/sciadv.aap9815 There are also studies that include ages below 18 but I am not allowed to post them. You're wrong. Studies using the Passionate Love Scale (Hatfield & Sprecher) show mostly no consistent sex difference or sometimes men scoring slightly higher. Several studies show that men and women report performing romantic acts at similar rates once in committed relationships. fMRI studies (like Fisher) show men, when viewing a loved one, tend to deactivate brain areas associated with critical judgment faster than women do. Men also fall in love faster and say "I love you" earlier. This is tr…

Women use slut shaming as a competitor derogation tactic. It's an extremely effective intrasexual competition method to lower the perceived value of another women. It's so damn effective that women will use physical violence to defend their reputation and women rarely use physical violence. Only in extreme situations. So clearly women must agree that certain kinds of sex reduce the value of a woman.

You can look into the US General Social Survey 2022. Married men and women are happier than single ones. Similar trends in the World Values Survey and Gallup World Poll. Married individuals report higher happiness in up to 90% of the surveyed countries.

You're right. From now on, we’ll say women age like pumpkins. <image>
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/25 04:53 PM

It’s the same. There was a good post on PPD a few months ago about a study where researchers compared stated and revealed preferences. Looks were always a top priority for both men and women. Doesn’t matter if it’s short term or long term.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/25 11:13 PM

Everyone’s treatment is based on their perceived mate value. For women, that’s basically looks and youth. For men, that’s basically looks and status. The 'effort' you describe is mate guarding behavior. Mate guarding means discouraging your current partner from leaving and fighting off rivals who try to poach your current partner. Highly attractive partners require more mate guarding because more rivals will try to poach them.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/25 11:08 PM

The point is that both men and women care a lot about looks. It’s one of their top priorities and there’s no difference between men and women here.

Many studies show that unattractive people tend to overestimate their own looks the most. They often perceive themselves as at least average. Attractive people are usually accurate or even slightly underestimate their own attractiveness. It's not clear if there’s a sex difference in self-perception. Some studies found that men overrated themselves more than women while other studies found no difference.

Men have alpha (=attractive) and beta (=comfort) traits. Both can be positive or negative. For example, dominant = positive alpha but domineering = negative alpha. Men with many positive beta traits but not enough alpha traits are morally "good" but unattractive. Women overlook those men.

men often say that “all men do it.” Even though that’s not true, a lot of men don’t watch porn for various reasons. But I’ve been told that’s the minority because most men do. I remember a story about a group of researchers who wanted to do a study about porn use and they needed a control group of men who don’t watch porn. They couldn’t find enough and they really tried.

I don’t think mothers are actively doing something that turns children into criminals. My guess is that fathers are better at stopping children from getting off track. Especially boys often don’t see mothers as authority figures.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 06:45 PM

Most studies try to control for some other variables but it’s difficult because the topic is very complex. For example, teen motherhood and low education levels also increase criminality. I don’t know if abuse, neglect and mental health is factored in. I’m pretty sure they matter since households with stepparents are also really bad and the often have a higher risk of abuse.

As far as I know, attractiveness has an objective core (beauty) and a subjective layer on top of it. There are interesting studies with babies. They prefer to look at faces with specific ratios. There’s also a great video from the channel "Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell" about beauty. They talk about a study where people were shown real abstract art and fake art. They could tell which paintings were real and fake. We seem to be born with an innate sense of beauty. Nobody really knows how this works.

Ask a large number of people of the sex you’re attracted to to rate you. You’ll most likely get a normal distribution of ratings. The mean is your objective looks rating. Your looksmatch would be someone with a similar rating. Since this is impractical in real life, most people determine it by trial and error. They aim high for very attractive people, get rejected and adjust their expectations downward. They do this until they have success. They’ll call this their league instead of the incel ter…

You can read a lot about the relationship between sexual dimorphism and attractiveness. It's very real. An easy example is height. Men prefer short women because shortness is seen as feminine. Women prefer tall men because tallness is seen as masculine. This extends to personality traits. Men like agreeable women but women like disagreeable men. It’s the same with confidence. It’s seen as a masculine trait. We’re not talking about good traits vs bad traits. More like introversion vs extraversion…

Take your example but change the second relationship to 10 fucks per week. (homegirl finally got the Chad of her dreams who she actually finds attractive) You get a sluttiness score of 0.33350 Same total amount of partners but a slightly smaller number. Simply fucking the same partner more often should not result in a lower score. It’s a flawed way to mathematically punish hookups. Trust me, I have a PhD in Whoreology (summa cum louder) and worked many years as a bikini inspector during college.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 11:10 PM
5

In my opinion, the problem is that the number of fucks is in the denominator. Imagine you have two women who had only one partner. They are both in relationships with the same length. Girl 1 fucked her guy 10 times. Girl 2 fucked her guy 100 times. Girl 2 would have a lower sluttiness score. Imo their scores should either be the same or girl 2 should have the higher one.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 10:23 PM
4

Not accurate enough. 1/f isn’t the best way to discern between relationship ns and hookup ns. Sluttiness should be modeled as a root function because the first few ns have a bigger impact. There needs to be a gangbang coefficient.

Women actively and consciously choose dark triad men. I read a study where women were shown dating profiles without pictures. Just a description of the men and their personality. They could accurately determine which men were high in dark triad traits, rated them as more attractive and preferred them - at least for short term relationships. Short term relationships were defined as relationships that would last several weeks/months, like a summer fling.

Vulnerability describes a state of being exposed to the possibility of harm, either physically, emotionally or socially. Emotional vulnerability means expressing feelings or sharing personal experiences, which put you at risk of being hurt or judged. It will give her the ick if it makes you look weak. But if you can express it in a confident way, she’ll like it because it shows that you trust her. Vulnerability in itself is not attractive. Confidence and trust are.

Nah, we can down-regulate our negative emotions much more efficiently. Because men showed greater down-regulation of amygdala activity and less prefrontal activity during regulation, one might conclude that men are able to regulate their negative emotion with greater efficiency than women. Despite their comparable decrements in negative experience, it is possible that reappraisal may be less effortful for men than women, requiring less engagement of the prefrontal structures usually implicated i…

Women, on average, score higher in neuroticism. They are more likely to experience negative emotions and are more deeply affected by them. They also have a higher risk of developing mental disorders. Men typically express aggression in a physical way. Women do it more in a verbal and social way. That’s why male aggression causes more physical harm. Edit: Women are actually more abusive in relationships but their physical violence causes less damage. Almost 24% of all relationships had some viole…

If you were entitled to food, clean water and shelter, then you’d have the right to receive them. You could demand them and someone would have to give them to you. Food, clean water and shelter involve the labour of another person. You’d have to force these people to work for you. That’s called 'forced labour' and it’s a severe violation of human rights.

They aren’t "average". These images were generated by averaging thousands of different face pictures. This eliminates small flaws and asymmetries which all people have. It makes the generated faces more attractive compared to a truly "average" face of a random person.

We know quite well what makes a face attractive. It’s a combination of symmetry, sexual dimorphism, youthfulness and averageness. A higher degree of symmetry makes a face more attractive and people overwhelmingly choose mates with more symmetrical faces. The science here is very clear. There’s more than one reason. Men prefer promiscuous women for short term relationships but not for long term relationships. An evolved fear about paternity uncertainty is one of the reasons for that. Then you have to look at the act of penetrative sex itself. In principle, you have one active partner doing the penetration and one passive partner receiving it. The active partner has agency but the passive partner is more like an object that’s being used. An object gets dirtied when being used an…

'Fat' is usually used to describe someone when they have excessive amounts of body fat that make their body shape look bad. A woman with a big gut would be described as 'fat'. A woman with the same amount of excessive fat mass but storing it in her boobs, ass and thighs and having a flat belly wouldn’t be described as 'fat'. She might be overweight in medical terms but many people wouldn’t describe her as fat.

/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 06:31 PM

Q4W: Same scenario as before. Work trip. Colleague gets dumped. Wants to cuddle and have a sleepover with your boyfriend/husband. But this time the colleague is: A: a lesbian who was dumped by her girlfriend B: a gay man who was dumped by his boyfriend Does you answer change in these cases?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 06:24 PM

Q4W: Your boyfriend/husband is on a work trip and is accompanied by a female colleague. Late in the evening, the boyfriend of the female colleague breaks up with her over text. She’s devastated and asks your boyfriend/husband if she can stay in his hotel room with him. She can’t be alone now and needs someone to hold and cuddle her. She also wants to sleep in his bed with him. Your boyfriend/husband calls you, tells you the whole story and asks you what he should do. What do you tell him?

Who decides who wins sexiest man in Britain?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 11:06 AM

Contextual sexual desire is when the circumstances and environment impact the ability to feel sexual desire. Think about what it’s like to drum up desire when your kids are in the next room, you feel stressed out by financial burdens, or you just ate a huge steak dinner. Sex may not be the first thing on your mind. Nagoski notes most people, regardless of gender, fall within a blend of responsive and contextual desire, but for some, desire can feel spontaneous. They simply may not be aware of th…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 06:44 AM

If the percentages in Nagoski‘s book 'Come As You Are' are correct, then it would be normal. She claimed that only 15% of women experience spontaneous arousal. The rest primarily experiences responsive and/or contextual sexual desire.

"How would you know?" This idea that women can just lie about their past comes up often. I’ll tell you why it doesn’t work most of the time. Lying has a profound impact on your brain activity. It causes stress and anxiety. That’s a painful state you can’t be in for long amounts of time. It gets even worse when you’re lying to a person that you love or have a strong emotional connection with. Eventually, people won’t be able to take it anymore and will confess. I don’t understand why this myth of the awesome happy single life is so widespread. It literally goes against the human nature. We evolved to be highly social animals who are supposed to live in small tribes. It’s been like this for thousands of years. And having offspring is one of the core interests of any animal. You applied her quote to all women, and in doing so you inadvertently pointed out that a woman’s age is also extremely relevant to whether her husband finds her attractive. She was a literal super model, and he couldn’t find her attractive as she aged. Yes, men don’t find their old wives sexually attractive anymore. They stay for other reasons. Sometimes they don’t stay. Nor are there any guarantees that being older will mean men will all ignore you in dating, like you claimed. You want to apply…

It was in response to the absurd comment insinuating that age isn’t a significant factor in every woman’s dating life. If that was true, an old, former super model would have absolutely no problems attracting men. Everyone knows that youth and beauty make up the majority of a woman’s value in the dating market. It’s not a coincidence that women are mainly stressed over specifically these two factors. About the marrying young part, nothing will guarantee you a marriage until death does you part. …

I don’t see any malice here either. It’s mostly likely that women either downplay the importance of looks to not appear shallow or they are really not aware of their importance to them. People in general seem to be rather ignorant about who they are and what they want.

Rare cases like this exist but the average person is neither a master manipulator nor an expert liar. For example, a female friend of mine told me about a guy she met on a dating app and showed me snippets of their conversation. I could clearly see he’s a scumbag and up to no good. I warned her but she didn’t believe me and went out with him anyway. After the date, he tried to rape her. She could only narrowly escape. Most people are not good at hiding who they are.

You are right. People will categorize you based on stereotypes about your looks/style. Adjusting your style to fit your personality is generally a good idea. But I disagree that you need a lot of time to judge someone’s personality. You can get a pretty good approximation within a few minutes of talking to someone. Actually, you don’t even need to talk to them. I read a study where the researchers asked two groups of men to write a short dating bio about themselves. One group was high in Machiav…

I'm not arguing if this is right or wrong. Or if you should do it or not. You asked why some men feel 'entitled' to sex after a dinner date and that’s the reason. No need to wonder, the answer is right there in the article. With an ultimate goal of enhancing reproductive success at the expense of others, slut-shaming effectively works to arouse suspicion and cause suitors to question the fidelity of these females. In the long term, men may have doubts regarding the paternity of any offspring produced and since humans strive for reproductive success, (which, for a man is to reproduce and to continually invest in his own children), the decision to mate with…

That reminds of a clip of Dan Savage speaking in front of college students and answering their questions. Reading question card: What is wrong with me, I find a flaw and can't get over it. For example if a guy chews with his mouth open, I could never see him again. You are the problem with you. If you have a list of deal breakers that has more than five things on it, you need to wait around to get a sex robot -- that you can program to be perfect for you in every possible way.

It shows the true nature of feminism. It’s a hate cult. Cassie dared to make a movie that didn’t portray the men’s rights movement in a negative light. She suffered relentless attacks and abuse from the feminists for it. They tried to ruin her career and destroy her life. That’s what they do to apostates.

Cassie Jaye (born May 1, 1986)is an American film director, best known for directing the 2016 documentary film The Red Pill about the men's rights movement. The film had screenings canceled in Australia following petitions, protests, and threats against those holding the screening. At the end of the film, Jaye states that she no longer identifies as a feminist, saying that she now believes that "feminism is not the road to gender equality". https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassie_Jaye

I don’t think a therapist can talk you into being attracted to people you don’t find attractive. That’s not how therapy works. What it can do for you is change your own thinking patterns and behaviors. For example, women who were abused in their childhoods tend to pick abusive men as partners. A therapist can help to break this pattern.

A lot of men here think that women generally operate similarly to them and can feel attraction on a spot just by looking at someone very attractive. I think they overestimate the amount of women who actually have this kind of libido tbh. I looked up the percentage of demisexuals and I found numbers around 1% or less. According to the primary and secondary sexual attraction model, that would mean 99% of women operate similarly to men and feel attraction on the spot.

They say in the article that the end goal is equal outcome. The argument is that people start at different points and some need more resources to end up at the same finish line as everyone else. But resources are finite. If you want to give more resources to someone, you need to take them away from someone else. A real world example of discrimination is the 50% female CEO goal. Women have exactly the same opportunity to become CEOs as men but that wasn’t enough for the feminists. They demanded t…

Personality/chemistry matters for average people the most. An average person is initially viewed as neutral - neither attractive nor unattractive. Personality/chemistry can elevate them to 'attractive' or push them down to 'unattractive'. At the extremes, personality/chemistry is way less important. You‘re correct. A scarcity of women leads to increased competition between men. That often results in higher levels of aggression and more male-on-male violence. It’s also known that cohabitation and fatherhood decrease testosterone levels. Testosterone is a molecule that amplifies behavior, including aggressive, violent and criminal behavior. More single, childless men means more crime in general.

For me it means two things. 1) Don’t lie about your promiscuous past. Most women realize that many men find this very undesirable and try to hide their past. That’s deception and wrong. 2) Accept it when men reject you because of your promiscuous past. I see this often. Women get really angry and berate men for not wanting them because of their past. They bully them, call them names, try to publicly shame them or threaten them.

The issue lies in the grey area of consent. Aella made a survey about this and called it the rape spectrum. https://aella.substack.com/p/the-rape-spectrum-survey-results People are self-centered and will interpret unclear situations in a way that allows them to get what they want.

Pre-cum can come into contact with the vagina during foreplay or when putting on the condom. Not a high chance for pregnancy but it’s possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 06:38 PM

That is very stupid and I have no sympathy for them. Men should always use protection and be rigorous about it. Still doesn’t change the fact that we don’t have a 100% safe method for men and no rights when it fails.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 06:33 PM

That’s not the point of the OP. Women have access to a 100% effective birth control method - abortion. In the name of gender equality, men also need a 100% safe option - paper abortions.

Only abstinence is 100% safe. I also heard that keeping your legs closed works surprisingly well for women, too. Give it a try! :)

Men don’t have access to 100% effective methods of birth control besides abstinence. There’s no male equivalent of abortion.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 04:06 PM

Vasectomies only work for men that never want children. They are not 100% effective and not 100% reversible. Problem not solved.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 03:16 PM

If women don’t want to be mothers, why are they having unprotected sex with men and hope they won’t get pregnant?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 02:12 PM

They still have a failure rate of 1 in 2000. You also can’t always reverse a vasectomy. The success rate is 55% within the first 10 years and 25% after that.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 01:54 PM

The logic you presented was: if you consent to sex, you also consent to fatherhood/motherhood. Motherhood includes carrying the child to term. Your logic also was that you’re not allowed to retroactively revoke consent. That means, once you’re pregnant, you have to carry the child to term. You consented to that. You have to let the baby use your body. You consented to that. What you want is a privilege. Abortion is a privilege to opt out of motherhood. OP's point is that men want the same privil…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 01:23 PM

That’s the consequence of following your logic. If a man consents to sex, he automatically consents to fatherhood (including paying child support). If a woman consents to sex, she automatically consents to motherhood (including carrying the child to term).
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 12:10 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 12:04 PM

How you feel about abortions is irrelevant to the question of legality and equality. Under the current system, there is no gender equality and men are disadvantaged. See Hermesmann v. A woman’s sexual focus is on herself. If she doesn’t feel desired and pretty, nothing is going to happen. Men’s sexual focus is on the woman. Her physical attractiveness is what matters. The rest is an afterthought.

Recently, I was reading an article about what could be the primary mating system of humans. The conclusion was that it’s complicated and difficult to tell. The best description would probably be monogamish. Monogamous but with a primal urge to sleep around. The stats seem to reflect this when only a minority of cultures adopt strict monogamy. But I still think strict monogamy is the best choice for a stable and prosperous society and should be encouraged. I think what we should learn from this i…

Confusing the males about paternity can also be a great tool to lower the risk of infanticide.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/23 03:22 PM

That is true. There’s a lot of complex and interesting behaviors. For example, gorillas are a fascinating case because both infanticide and adoption exist and are pretty common. Although I suspect that mostly young dominant males will kill the offspring and it’s the females and older males that adopt and foster.

Infanticide exists in primates too. It has been observed in gorillas, chimpanzees, baboons and langurs.

The 6x figure comes from here. Many factors play a role in crime rates but you can look at any crime statistics of any Western country. Young frustrated single men are driving crime everywhere. If only some people have a few children, that’s far below replacement level. The population will shrink very quickly because of this. Japan is experiencing this now and they are not handling it well. Fewer people isn’t necessarily a bad thing but you’ll have to automate tons of jobs in a short amount of t…

I'm far less optimistic. I don’t think people who will still date will have more kids to compensate. It’s already hard to have one child in this economy. Not to mention that raising children is stressful. Can you imagine taking care of 6 children? Do you want to give birth six times? You’d need major economic and political changes to maybe make this happen. The whole pension system is basically a Ponzi scheme and would need be completely reworked. We probably also would need a universal basic in…

It’s not a huge problem if the number of people that stop dating is low. I agree with that. But what happens if the number grows? Doesn’t have to be 100% but what if 50% of all women check out? How many people can we afford checking out of dating?

This isn’t a paradox at all. It’s perfect logical and a consequence of the female nature. Women naturally want a strong and independent man who can provide for and protect them and their offspring. Of course this includes bad boys. They are rebels who don’t rely on other people and they don’t shy way from using violence when necessary. They confidently don't care what other people think of them and are not afraid to do their own thing come hell or high water. They know what they want and they’ll…

If you fully accept that all relationships are shallow and transactional and are fine with that, you could date them. But I wouldn’t hold it against you if you were bitter, disappointed and disgusted by this situation and wouldn’t want to date these men. That’s a very understandable reaction. Edit: Would she be right to reject all the guys who are showing her interest now? If she wants to. Totally up to her. They probably wouldn’t have wanted her old fat self either.

If two people are having sex with each other, it’s likely a shared activity. There’s a good chance that both people have a connection of some sort. If multiple people have sex with one person, then there’s no connection. The men are using her like an object for their own pleasure. She’s just a set of holes they masturbate into.

It’s an interesting observation for sure. I think the commitment might be the key point here. If you commit to someone, you’re kinda seen like a union. Everything your partner does also reflects on you. Your status depends on your partner’s status. A gangbang is something taboo and low status. People will laugh at the guy and say, "Eww this guy married the cumrag. What a loser lmao."

How do the approaches from American men differ?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/23 09:29 PM

The point is that being rejected because you’re unattractive is the worst possible kind of rejection. It basically means that your genes, the essence of what you are, are worthless. You are worthless and no trace of you deserves to be part of the future of the human race. There’s no bigger insult than this.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 09:48 PM

Why do men feel so bad when women don’t find them attractive? Every living organism has only one purpose - survival. Survival of the individual and the species (through procreation). At the deepest level, everything you do serves only this one purpose. If women don’t find you attractive, then you can’t pass on your genes. It’s the ultimate failure.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 07:02 PM

I don’t think that they should. Would be nice if they did but they are not obligated to do so. And it’s not that I don’t want to support men. It can be beneficial for me to support men that are friends or family. I benefit from them being a part of my social group. It would also be beneficial for all men's mental health if we supported each other. But that conflicts with our gender role and the need to compete with each other. Women are viscerally attracted to masculinity. They like confidence, strength, leadership, dominance and protectiveness. A big misconception is that you have to be an asshole to be masculine. Here’s a possible explanation. Female primates strategically use promiscuity to confuse the males about paternity. This has many benefits for the female and her offspring. But this is a detriment to the males because they might waste their precious resources on another male's offspring. Avoiding promiscuous females increases our reproductive success. So we might hav…

That’s interesting because I think your cooking schedule doesn’t exactly fit the "stable variety" description. It’s more like a temporary stable variety. A mix between stable and random. Pretty much serial monogamy but with a short relationship duration.

Inspired by this recent post: if you would be concerned about your partner being a slave, you’re an abuser. If you have a true intrinsic motivation to treat your partner well, then them being a slave is irrelevant. It doesn’t matter that they are vulnerable to abuse when you don’t (want to) abuse them. People who are concerned about this situation know that they would abuse their position of power and need an external threat like divorce to prevent them from abusing their slave partner.

https://www.webmd.com/women/features/vagina-size The most commonly used measurements regarding the size of vaginas come from Masters and Johnson’s work from the 1960s. They looked at 100 women who had never been pregnant and found that vagina lengths, unstimulated, range from 2.75 inches to about 3¼ inches. When a woman is aroused, it increased to 4.25 inches to 4.75 inches. Regardless of how long the vagina is, the area that is thought to be important for most women’s sexual response is the out…

Men want some women to be like that. It’s the male dual mating strategy. That would be the equivalent of women's AFBB because they can’t get an AlphaBucks. Men want a VirginSlut but they don’t really exist. So we try to fuck hot slutty sluts in our 20s and then settle down with a sweet loyal virgin/ low-n girl. If some women had male sexuality, that would make our 'AF' part much easier. Most men here are in their 20s and, thus, still in the 'AF' stage.

I don’t feel comfortable judging what a life worth living is. This feels very arrogant, selfish and callous to me. Instead of killing a human who might end up having a hard life, maybe it would be better to make some sacrifices to help them. Raise taxes to help poor families, provide more mental health services, socialized healthcare, adopt a child if you can, offer to babysit the child of your neighbor. But, then again, I could do many things to help right now and I choose to not do them out of…

Only in the case of a medical problem threatening the life of the mother and maybe rape. All the other ones are practical benefits and wants. Just because something has a practical benefit and you want it doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. You have to carefully weigh those benefits/wants against the right to live and the value of a human being. I value my own life more than anything else and I can’t think of any reason why someone should be allowed to kill me for their own benefit. So how …

Men and women aren’t forced into parenthood when they don’t want children at all or are not mature enough or financially ready yet. Women can avoid the uncomfortable process of pregnancy, the painful birth and all the negative changes to their body caused by it. Then you’re also a murderer for using birth control. That fertilized egg is merely a toddler in “early stages of development,” waiting to attach to your uterus, grow and be born. I saw you make this argument earlier in other comments and thought a lot about it. This is a very interesting and tough one. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I read that the hormones in the pill stop or reduce ovulation, thicken the cervical mucus to keep sperm from entering the uterus and thin the lining of the uterus so t…

I'm curious about the definition of a "human". What makes someone "human" and can you lose your "humanness"? I think if you die, your corpse is still human. The body has still the typical structure of a human and every cell still contains the characteristic 23 pairs of chromosomes. So being alive should not be required to be human. Now, what happens in the other direction? Here’s a thought experiment. Take a 20 yo man. Now let time run backwards. He’s still a human at 10 yo, he’s still a human a…

Exactly. I thought a lot about this and came to the same conclusion. We are allowed to kill animals, insects, plants and so on. Life itself doesn’t seem to be sacred at all. You’re just not allowed to kill human beings and even there you have exceptions like self-defense. It seems to be a practical decision that’s motivated by self-interest. I am a human and want to live. You’re not allowed kill humans so that you can’t kill me.

You’re making a decision either way. If something cannot have an opinion, it doesn’t get one. Because there’s no way to know what it would want. How do you know the fetus would even want to be there? You don’t. Because you can’t ask. I addressed this in another comment. Self-preservation seems to be universal among all living organisms, even simple ones like bacteria that don’t have a brain. I would argue this means that every living being has an innate interest in being alive. No need to ask. B…

How would you define "life" and "human" instead?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 09:07 PM

People are capable of making decisions for themselves. The conjoined twins are an analogy for a woman and a fetus. Two individual humans that are directly connected. In this situation, you can’t make a decision for yourself and only yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 08:35 PM

I don’t think that’s relevant. Self-preservation seems to be universal among all living organisms, even simple ones like bacteria that don’t have a brain. I would argue this means that every living being has an innate interest in being alive.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 06:04 PM
3

Is your opinion irrelevant too?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 05:35 PM
4

As far as I’m aware, there’s currently no consensus about the definition of a living being. In my opinion, a decent definition is "an entity with internal biological processes". That applies to a fetus, so it’s a living being. The fetus also has a pair of 23 chromosomes that are characteristic for a human. That makes a fetus a human.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 05:18 PM
6

At the very least, we need a rule whenever there’s a conflict of interest between two parties. Abortion is such a case. The fetus and you have opposing interests.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 04:50 PM
3

Don’t put words in my mouth. I’m fine with women having more rights if it’s necessary because the situation is asymmetrical. And XY men can’t get pregnant.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 04:23 PM
9

But we need a set of rules that everyone plays by. You can’t just let everyone do whatever they want. Otherwise I could just stop paying taxes by declaring that I find taxation immoral.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 04:07 PM
3

You don't have to donate organs to save your born children. Maybe you could think about it like a "duty to rescue"? You created the situation that the fetus is in and, therefore, you’re required to provide reasonable assistance. You didn’t cause the organ failure of the born child and donating an organ is unreasonable. Now we’d just have to determine if the damage that a pregnancy and birth could do to your body is an acceptable price to save the life of the fetus. Again, this is giving a fetus …
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 04:02 PM
3

Interesting point. I guess, logically, it should be treated like abortion. If the destruction of a fertilized egg inside of the uterus is not allowed, then the destruction of one outside the woman’s body should also not be allowed.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 03:10 PM
6

But the fetus only exists as a direct result of your actions. You created it and put it inside yourself, so to speak. And you did that knowing that it can’t survive outside of your womb. So it has no alternatives and can’t leave your womb. I don’t think it’s moral to make someone decide between "kill yourself" and "I’ll kill you".
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 02:25 PM
3

Yeah, that’s the big problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 02:06 PM
7

I agree that government involvement in one’s private life should be minimal. On the other hand, I think it’s not unreasonable to grant a fetus the right to live and someone needs to enforce it on their behalf.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 01:48 PM
2

The only one who benefits from banning abortion is the fetus because, well, it gets to live. Everyone else loses.

I used to be pro-choice but after thinking about it extensively I moved more towards pro-life. I understand the benefits of abortion and why women want it but most arguments for abortion don’t sound that convincing to me. Right now, I’m pretty much undecided. This opened up far more extremely difficult moral and logical questions than I originally thought and caused me to question quite a few of my beliefs.

This article was the inspiration for my question. It’s about a study that claims men and women perceive women in the same way they perceive objects. But men are not viewed that way. If some men have an emotional disgust reaction and view non-virgin women as stained objects, is there a female equivalent with real objects (sex toys)?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/22 02:11 PM

Sure, I get that. This is more of a hypothetical question with the assumption that the toy is exactly as clean as a new one. Like sterilized in an autoclave. Would you use such a toy or still prefer a new one?

Your answers indicate that you wouldn’t use a used toy. Is there any scenario where you would be ok with it? I mean, when you’re eating at a restaurant, the fork that you put in your mouth has been used by many different people before you. What makes that different for you compared to a clean used sex toy?

Let’s say he just forgot that he still has it. He didn’t keep it for sentimental reason. Just put it in a box in the basement with some other old stuff that he wanted to throw away after the breakup but then forgot about the box.

I’d like to know where exactly you draw the line. Does your decision depend on details (like internal vs external use) or are you for/against it on principle? Is it a logical or an emotional decision? The original assumption was just a clean sex toy that’s basically indistinguishable from a new one. The only difference is that his ex-gf had used it.

Q4W about used sex toys. Imagine you wanted to buy a new sex toy. So you went online and found one that you really liked. Unfortunately, it’s very expensive. You tell your boyfriend about it and he suddenly remembers that he bought this exact toy a year ago when he was still together with his ex-girlfriend. They used it a few times and he kept it after the breakup. He cleaned it thoroughly, disinfected it, stored it somewhere in the basement and then forgot about it. Logically, there’s absolutel…

It even works if you don’t view sex as dirty. Look at this article about a study which claims that women are perceived in the same way that objects are. (Interestingly, men and women view women that way.) Objects lose value due to usage and previous ownership.

I think it’s pretty close to the truth. Speed dating is more natural than online dating, which is often used as the data for many studies. And you’re looking at the actual behavior instead of people just filling out a survey.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/22 06:27 PM
5

The Wired article about a huge meta analysis that someone posted a few days ago said basically the same. https://www.wired.com/story/data-marriage-behavior-love-psychology-romance/?position=9&sponsored=0 The conventional attractiveness of a mate is the number one predictor of how many messages someone gets, for both men and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/22 05:10 PM
22

But men are more shallow in the sense that they value looks so much higher than everything else. Women just think that they value looks less. They actually value them exactly as much as men. Look at this study about speed dating, especially the section "Male/Female’s Stated Interest Compared to Actual Influence on Decision". Attractiveness was the most important attribute for men and women, but only women severely underestimated its importance.

Under the current rules, yes. But if a man had the opportunity and right to financially abort and she knows that he will do exactly this if she tells him and therefore hides her pregnancy until it’s too late for him, wouldn’t that be a form of baby trapping?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/22 10:34 AM
1

You could have an unplanned pregnancy and then decide to use this opportunity to baby trap the guy. Edit: If a pro-life woman got accidentally pregnant by her boyfriend who doesn’t want a child right now and hides it until it is too late for him to leave, that kinda does sound like baby trapping to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/22 07:38 AM

That would be a particularly nasty form of baby trapping. Not much you could do about that, unfortunately.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 06:37 PM
1

Glad I could help.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 04:20 PM
3

At the earliest stages of a pregnancy, there is no child yet. It’s just a lump of cells. There’s is no living person with rights yet. An abortion at that stage shouldn’t be a big deal. That’s why I think my solution could be a very fair compromise that gives both men and women a fair choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 03:05 PM
2

I covered that in my first comment. Once it’s too late for abortion, the man has to pay. But if it’s very early and he tells you that he doesn’t want the baby, why would you not abort? It’s just the next logical step.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 02:22 PM
2

The woman is not forced to keep the baby. Abortion is possible and available. If she doesn’t want to raise a child alone, she can just abort it. If she does want to keep the child, then this is entirely her own decision and only she should be responsible for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 01:19 PM
2

Nobody forces the woman to keep the child if the man bails early. If she doesn’t want to raise a child alone, she can just abort it. Edit: That’s like a guy and a girl ordering a Playstation 5 online and agreeing that each one will pay half its price. But the next day, the guy decides that he doesn’t want the Playstation anymore and will not pay his share. Just cancel the order and no Playstation will be delivered to you. No problem. But if you don’t cancel the order, then you’ll have to pay for…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 01:12 PM
6

Men can impregnate women and bail before the child is born, have a “financial abortion” and leave a woman absolutely screwed? Why not set a time limit like abortions have? While an abortion is still allowed, the man can "financially abort". Then the woman can decide if she wants to keep the baby or abort it. Once an abortion is no longer possible, he has to pay child support.

I just don’t believe in true love. True love would be unconditional and everlasting. But people who have experienced genuine feelings of love can suddenly fall out of love.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/22 10:26 PM
3

No, that’s not what I said. The feeling of love is real. But I reject the idea of true love. There’s nothing special about your husband, he is replaceable. If he left you tomorrow, you would eventually find someone else who would make you feel the exact same feelings of love.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/22 10:08 PM
2

Love exists, there’s no doubt about that. You can see the activation patterns in the brain and measure the hormones. It’s a very real thing. https://sitn.hms.harvard.edu/flash/2017/love-actually-science-behind-lust-attraction-companionship/ But it’s not more than this. I don’t believe that love is this magical thing like the poets are trying to tell us. The reality is much more shallow and transactional.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/22 09:50 PM
2

Well, think about it in terms of the food analogy. Food used to be scarce, so our brains evolved to make us crave high calorie food. Eating that stuff activates our brain's reward circuitry and makes us feel good. That motivates behavior and makes us seek and eat high calorie food. You could say that this is our default behavior. Many people in western countries just follow this default behavior and get obese as a result. But you don’t have to follow your default behavior. You can actively choos…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/22 09:33 PM
2

No, I think that our brains are on autopilot a lot of the time and many of our decisions are made based on primitive instincts. The dual mating strategy is deep in the unconscious part of the mind. It influences many of women's dating choices and behaviors without them actually realizing what they’re doing.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/22 08:30 PM
2

That’s why I think dual mating strategy happens subconsciously. I don’t believe that most women intentionally cheat to get good genes for their kids or intentionally get pregnant by hot losers and then try to marry beta providers. But I do remember a study that found women were less likely to insist on using condoms during casual sex when the guy was very attractive. Yes, that’s why people who are looking for a serious relationship generally don’t want promiscuous partners. Too much risk. But someone with many failed prior relationships is also undesirable. The claim was that women are attracted to traits in men that are bad for society. And that’s true. The article says that women are specifically attracted to "appetitive-aggressiveness": The second is “appetitive-aggressive,” which is internally motivated. That’s not a counterargument. There are many more studies that are coming to a similar conclusion. It’s a fact that women are viscerally sexually attracted to masculine (alpha) traits. But these men are bad for relationships. That’s why women choose them only for short-term mating. Picking more beta men for relationships is just a compromise. Hmm, interesting. But if it doesn’t apply to men at all, then is it really the penetration/sex that devalues a woman? Let’s take two women. Hannah has 10 hookups in one year and no relationship. Lana has no hookups but is in a relationship during that year and has sex three times per week with her boyfriend. That’s 156 times sex in that year. If solely the act of sex devalued a woman, Lana should be considered lower value than Hannah. Every single time Lana has sex with her boyfriend, it should …

Yeah, I think it’s the act of penetration that causes the damage. The active/penetrating person essentially objectifies and uses the passive person that’s getting penetrated. And objects lose value with use. In contrast, the active person doesn’t get objectified and, thus, loses no value. I see some evidence for this. For example, men seem to be more ok with women having sex with other women. I think it’s because there are no clear active and passive roles in lesbian sex, so it’s not seen as dam…

If you can’t provide them with at least a minimum of things they want from you anymore, they’ll leave. Who you are doesn’t matter. In the end, you’re just a replaceable object.

Q4W: How do you define "creepy" behavior?

Woman 1: Cheating as a dealbreaker. Woman 2: Many failed relationships are a red flag. Depends on the reason why she was dumped.

Time is the answer. Leveling the Playing Field: Longer Acquaintance Predicts Reduced Assortative Mating on Attractiveness As you spend a lot of time with people, you’ll discover many interesting things about them that can make you feel attracted to them beyond the raw stats like looks, money and status. Over time, the average girl can become a real gem to you.

That reminds me of the moon illusion, an optical illusion where the moon appears to be larger when it’s near the horizon. There are a few different possible explanations and one is the relative size hypothesis. This states that the perceived size of an object depends not only on its retinal size, but also on the size of objects in its immediate visual environment. In the case of the Moon illusion, objects in the vicinity of the horizon Moon (that is, objects on or near the horizon) exhibit a fin…

what kind of a father would you like to be? I would want my kids to trust me and be comfortable talking to me about anything: their problems, their ideas, their hopes and dreams. They could get emotional comfort and help from me without judgement whenever they need it. I'd also would like to be a safety net for them. I would want them to be confident and courageous enough to explore the world, find themselves, take risks and make mistakes knowing that I’ll always be there to catch them when they…

According to this study, your metabolism doesn’t significantly slow down until you’re 60. The decrease in energy expenditure comes more often from a lack of activity and muscle loss. Edit: I only really look the best within 19.8-20.4 BMI. Anything more than one cheat week at my age, and I get a huge drop in the way I'm treated. That honestly sounds terrible.

Hypergamy or "marrying up" means the desire to marry a spouse of higher social status than yourself. It’s mostly done by women and can be observed across most countries and cultures of the world. It makes men angry and bitter to be objectified as status objects, just like it makes women angry and bitter to be objectified as sex objects. In a way, both are dehumanizing. People crave being loved for who they are: their character, their morals and values, their sense of humor, their intelligence, t…

Yes, it’s certainly a practical benefit. You can get conditional love as long as you’re fulfilling your role. Being primarily valued for your looks is more like a coin flip. If you are lucky and win the genetic lottery it’s a massive win overall, but if you lose, you’re pretty much fucked. High risk - high reward.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/22 02:26 PM

True, but would people still value and love you the same if you stopped being a hard worker? If I am loved for something that is inherent to me, I can never lose that.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/22 02:07 PM
1

I always wanted to know how exactly that works. I mean, how do you know when the hour is over? Do you wear a watch during sex and check occasionally or do you set an alarm?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/22 01:17 PM

Isn’t "what you do" just an outward expression of "who you are"? For example, if my character is that I like helping people, then my actual behavior of helping people will display that. In that case, consciously altering your behavior in a way that’s not true to yourself will just create an artificial persona. Then people will love this character that you created instead of the real you and you have to constantly uphold this facade or they’ll stop loving you.

It’s generally accepted that you can find someone attractive without loving them, or even liking them. I think the inverse exists too, you can love someone without finding them attractive. But it’s rare to observe irl because attraction is visual and you rarely get to know someone very intimately without ever seeing what they look like.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/22 08:34 AM

I like your approach to lead with comfort. I think that’s the right way to do it. Provide some emotional support until they feel better and can think more clearly again, then start working on solutions.

She is submissive and attracted to dominance. That’s why she used to date bad boys. Sadly, like many women, she couldn’t differentiate dominance from abusiveness. The emotional damage from the abuse causes a lot of her problems now. Therapy will fix this but it won’t fix her attraction. Her boyfriend is not dominant. When she puts on lingerie, he giggles like a schoolboy who’s about to touch his first boob. It makes her feel awkward and it turns her off.
