Maybe I’m too young. I don’t know a soul who has a social circle - which I’m defining as, these are the people you go out with beyond work on a regular (say monthly) basis - comprised of multiple female CEOs. Unless we consider my friend who teaches gymnastics to children a CEO, or the MLM “girl bosses”. I have a female friend in my circle who owns a yoga studio.

I’m not saying women don’t have jobs. I am agreeing with the original poster saying most women are not careerist - they do not plan to climb the corporate ladder to be a C-level executive or VP or President of the company. Of course some women do but these cases are rare. Therapist, doctor, teacher, nurse, business analyst, software developer, etc are all careers and all fine and dandy careers at that! But the women that do them are typically not aiming for high rungs on the corporate ladder tha…

You’re conflating educated and having a college degree with being careerist. And further, having a career with being careerist. Completely different. Everyone in my “circle” is college-educated and none of us want to be C-suite executives. Reread the original post. I am from Pittsburgh, PA. What about my writing style is “country-like”? You’re unable to comprehend my point yet are arguing about it lol.

No. Not sure what kind of circle would give way to knowing “many female corporate CEOs”. That frankly sounds ridiculous. I wouldn’t say an occupational therapist is a careerist. I’m a software engineer and I am not a careerist. The OP is completely accurate in saying most people are not very career-driven and looking to climb the corporate ladder to the top.

What kind of career? Most of my female friends are teachers or nurses. Not that those aren’t great paths, but it’s not like they’re corporate careerist climbing-the-ladder type of jobs that render them unable to do traditional wife/mother stuff. College does not mean careerist. Hell many women graduate from college and stick with waitressing or being a secretary/admin assistant because their art or sociology degree makes it hard to find a job in that field.

I think independence is the main goal. To not need a man at all. Lots of women get stuck living a life like that where they can’t do things on their own, so they feel trapped with a man who may be shitty. I’m sure you’d get shouted down if you mentioned anything about “leveling up” your appearance, but I’m pretty sure there is a huge overlap between FDS and r/vindicta so it’s obviously part of the whole thing.

Oh I didn’t realize you guys established you were boyfriend and girlfriend. Did you ever define the relationship? If so then yeah he is just a complete asshole and frankly weird/emotionally abnormal. I only saw you had been “seeing him for a couple months”, which means nothing. Some men will have several girls on rotation for months to years without ever committing to any of them. Looks like you did everything right though, just got incredibly unlucky.

That’s shitty but you were not exclusive, and not in a relationship with him.

Any family with a SAHM and a maid is either lazy as fuck or has more money than they know what to do with

A marriage is a two person team. Split work accordingly. Household shit is work, making money is work. I do find it a little ridiculous when SAHM’s whine that their husband doesn’t contribute to anything around the house. I’m nowhere near a “men’s rights advocate” lmao but cmon, his job is making money outside of the home, your job is taking care of domestics. Split the damn work. If I had to work a real job 40+ hours a week while supporting my spouse who stayed home, I would not expect to ever …

Yeah female friend groups are very culty, you almost need to “stay in line” lol, while guys can give eachother crap and deviate and no one really cares.

Definitely but we are socialized to be agreeable. Don’t know enough to say if natural hormones play a part as well, but I would guess less testosterone would mean more agreeableness. It’s why women tend to do better in school and other environments in which a primary goal is obedience lol.

Women’s sense of duty and obligation makes us feel like no isn’t even an option half the time
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/21 02:38 AM

Men also have no problem enforcing their boundaries. Once they have decided they’re not doing something, there is no amount of guilt-tripping, begging, etc that can change their minds. Men are allowed to say no and mean it as a final answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/21 11:47 PM

Seconded. Women’s relationships are centered around the conversation, the activity is secondary, so we actually need to “click” some with our friends. Men’s friendships are centered around actually doing something - watching X game, playing X sport, etc. I am envious that for men it seems as easy as “hey bro wanna catch the game later” or “hey bro what’s your gamer tag” and boom - instant friendship. Women need a baseline of acquaintanceship before we can do anything with a new friend - kinda we…

Do you really think there’s much of a difference between someone who has had 5 partners versus 12? I understand not wanting to date a virgin or someone who has only had one or two partners, but what is the difference between 9 cs 11 lol

Yeah because nobody mocks women for having a flat ass and being skinny these days. Not to say this automatically makes these women unattractive, but the standard keeps getting higher and higher. But I agree, decent-looking non-obese men and women do pretty well in the dating market these days.

Haha good example in Captain Jack. I personally think a lot of his charm comes more from his wit, carefree attitude, and command-the-room confidence. That’s why women like him. He is sexy because of his personality and the fact that he isn’t hideous. Not really his looks that may be emphasized with makeup. Oh believe me I know what a difference a little concealer can make. I am a woman and wouldn’t date a man who wears makeup, even if it bumped them up a few “points”. I view it as feminine - whe…

Wow, one anecdotal example. Not to be an asshole but the “average” woman in America is clinically obese - is she really below average?

Most women are obese.

Women do these things because men value attractiveness. Men do not do these things because women do not value attractiveness (as a top of the list item).
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/21 02:53 PM
25

Regarding point 2 though, I agree that for a long term relationship, men do value more than looks. But they still need some looks. Most men would rather date a supermodel they cannot stand than date an ugly whose personality meshes perfectly with theirs.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/21 02:49 PM
3

If women valued ultra-attractiveness in men, like men do in women, makeup would be a thing for men as well. Attractiveness is not a woman’s top checklist item for a man. Woman have and utilize so many tools to be more attractive because that is what matters to men. So I don’t know what point you’re arguing.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/21 02:43 PM
10

True but that just means the natural-born most attractive women are doing all of that too. That top beauty is still not attainable for natural-born unattractive women. But I agree, every woman can pretty much look decent. But there are some features that make no amount of makeup or fashion good enough. Men don’t bother with makeup or waist trainers because they don’t have to, because their looks are not the central determinant of perceived value. For the record I do believe most people can be “d…

I agree. Women have one thing to use to build perceived value. Men can be ugly as hell but make a lot of money or be successful and be very attractive to women. Both genders are judged heavily by physique though. Even “ugly” men and women can be considered “hot” if they have a nice body. And I’d argue that even the most successful man, if morbidly obese, would still have some trouble dating. I don’t think Bezos or Musk are particularly good looking (facially) but they clearly care for their bodi…

What about common law rules that people always bring up when others point out that not being married means zero financial or legal benefits? Would that not apply? “Domestic engineer” is not a job in my book. There is no reason - especially now - for a woman to go directly from her parents to husband fully financially dependent. The only way this isn’t a massive red flag is if she’s in some kind of deeply traditional/religious setup, like Mormonism. Even my housewife grandma in the 40s worked as …

This eliminates a large subset of men (people in general). Lots of people can’t even fund their lifestyle paycheck-to-paycheck.

Seems that I struck a personal chord - sorry. I said not a word about whether it’s right or wrong, just provided an observation of how the world seems to work. But to comment on its morality - yeah, I think it’s fine - even ethical - to leave a partner you’ve outgrown and view “beneath you”.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/21 11:38 PM

Good luck and glad that works for you. In my personal opinion, anyone (male or female) who fully financially supports a “domestic engineer” they aren’t married to is certifiably insane. You do say “if you made more money you’d be happy to continue this arrangement”. If your income stays the same, what’s the timeline for ending this arrangement for the sake of your happiness?

Her life goals will be taking a backseat, though. Finances and other not-so-fun logistical challenges are a huge part of a relationship, and sadly a lot of people don’t want to talk that boring stuff before the wedding, and find out afterwards that they aren’t as aligned as they thought.

My best friend wants a McMansion and to be a stay-at-home-mom to 4+ kids but dates poors. Not saying she isn’t an outlier but LOTS of women don’t date logically. “Love” and “being a good person” is all that matters to her. Maybe her views will change as she gets older.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/21 09:55 PM
6

This. Yep. Ideally I just want someone where we can have a modest life on one of our incomes, and save the rest. Partnering up should make you richer, not poorer.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/21 09:53 PM
3

But for how long is this okay? My mom supported the household while my dad was jobless for a few months (as she should have), but there comes a point where “love” alone isn’t reasonable. Especially pre-marriage.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/21 09:53 PM

I agree but I saw that this is particularly true for couples who marry right out of high school. E.g., head cheerleader and quarterback get married at 18-22. Head cheerleader goes on to become a nurse, earns good money, maybe climbs the ranks, etc. Overall very successful. Just like in high school. Quarterback gets a job at a local car dealership and makes half what she makes; she realizes he peaked in high school and she turned out to be “out of his league”.

My personal guess is this doesn’t vary by socioeconomic class until you get to VERY rich - like old money or Elon Musk’s kids at private school. These extremely rich / budding socialite women need to at least maintain an appearance of chastity while school-aged. Or at least one devoid of sluttiness.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/21 08:34 PM

What lol, I think that’s a little different from having a real-life personal male influence. Also I’m a woman so didn’t really require one as much.

Cool. So you’re confirming most people have wildly different experiences with extra-familial contact, exemplified by you and me.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/21 06:39 PM

I just thought - socioeconomic class matters too. You hear of low income female students pulling out each other’s weaves, and high income female students wouldn’t dare do that but they bully their friends into eating disorders and self harm.

My uncles and cousins don’t live around here, and neighbor interactions are limited to “oh hi” when we’re both outside at the same time. My family went to church as well but didn’t get all involved.

Why should it be respected when anyone can do it and the barrier to entry is on the floor? I would much rather homeschool my children as I believe I could do a better job, but I’m an engineer and don’t have the time or want to lose the salary. I am a woman.

For a degree where 50% of your work is cutting out gingerbread men? Awwwww
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/21 04:25 PM

True. I was kind of annoyed as a female engineer, all of my friends went crazy over each other and delivered coffee/gifts to each other during police week/nurse week/teacher week. I didn’t do shit because in my head I thought “huh, national engineers week was in February and no one did jack shit for me”. But I’m just a salty bitch I guess. And I suppose our differences in compensation explains it.

Agreed my mom was making 6 figures when she retired at 55 and gets $40k/year of pension money and the same cheap but excellent health insurance until she reaches medicare eligibility.

I agree with that. But even nowadays, almost any guy can find some girl to fuck them. Just not girls they find attractive. These guys get whiney not because they can’t get sex, it’s because they can’t get sex from hot women.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/21 01:51 AM
0

Do you think there would still be ego? Surely there will still be “leagues” and hyper-attractive males will still attract hyper-attractive females, while average or ugly men will be getting more sex but not from hot women (as often as hot men). I mean even super attractive men have standards for who they’ll fuck. Super attractive women, even with “male-like sexuality”, will do the same. There will always be a level of jealousy/competition, in my opinion.

Excellent analysis. I know it’s anecdotal but I fell for my boyfriend because he was sweet and caring but I knew he had a line - he wasn’t someone I could walk all over - and also was not an asshole. He literally is just a normal person who respects himself and me. Weirdly hard to find a man like that.

I am looking for a study, and thought someone here might have the link... It discovered a correlation between girls seeing porn from a young age, and those girls eventually transitioning to male due to how some pornography depicts sex (some horrifying for a young girl to watch thinking that’s going to be her eventually). Anyone happen to have that or know what I’m talking about? Thanks
