I was merely applying the math. I do not believe I have all the information necessary to argue the numbers and could only speculate on the chances of a specific individual. The numbers simply show the prevalence of the problem, just like the crime rate indicates the prevalence of criminality, not the actual chances of you or I suddenly waking up one morning and decide to rob a convenience store :)

A woman has 1/1000 chance to be a victim of sexual assault every year. This is basically the same as "Roll a 1000-sided die, if you roll a 1, you get raped this year". While you are correct in saying that the chance to roll a 1 is the same every individual year, this is not the same as the chances of rolling a one on any of multiple years. It is easier to invert the math: 999/1000 chances of being safe on year 1 999/1000 chances of being safe on year 2 999/1000 chances of being safe on year 3 Ch…

Like any bad decision. There are two things. The first is to examine what happened, rationally. See what you could have done differently that might have increased your chances of a better outcome. The other part is the emotional one. Emotions go away if you don't dwell on them and feed them. It could be as simple as letting some time pass. There are many solutions, and they don't all work the same for everyone. Exercise, therapy, meditation... A combination of all of this. It's not a surprise th…

TL;DR Frustration comes from expectations. Expectations comes from investment. Keep your investment low (or at least, lower than hers). It's all about your personal investment in a relationship. Relationships are basically an exchange, a trade if you will. If you go to the store, you give them money, they give you food. You've both benefited from the exchange. If you never go back to the store again, neither you, nor the owner will feel slighted. Now, imagine that you don't have enough money, an…

Logical if you think about it. Guys with low-to-average SMV will be more likely to seek a commitment. Even low SMV guys aren't usually attracted by ugly girls, and they're scared by the really hot ones (9-10), so you've got 80% of the guys fawning over the "cute ones"(6-8), giving them many options/opportunities.

Another thing is the incentive for reporting rape. I dated one rape victim. She was more cautious to not put herself in dangerous situations, or at least showed worry when she did. Then when we started having sex, there were regular panic attacks, and also nightmares. Let's just say the evidence was compellinging enough for me to believe her. She did not report it to the police and when you think about it, why would she? She'd have to relive the traumatic event, have her credibility and characte…

That's how you break out of the friend zone! I did something similar years ago. I screwed it up by reverting back to AFCness, though. Don't make the same mistake! Basically you have to show you're willing to walk away, even if it means you might actually have to do so. If you're not willing to take risks, you don't deserve to win big.

Ironically, the only man who'd endure this would have to be very needy and submissive, and thus, completely unattractive to such a woman. I just can't stand this pervasive sense of entitlement. Being "a strong independent person" does not allow you to expect people to put up with your crap. You can hope to find someone who will, but if you get frustrated when you don't... Ironically, the only man who will endure this kind of woman would be very needy and submissive, and thus, completely unattrac…

Reminds me of this scene from Family Guy... The principal's statement at 10:20-27 says it all. Family Guy S14E13 Just one more double standard to add to the pile.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
