Fair enough. I’ll be careful about sharing strawmans like that in the future. In fact, I’ll pass that fact on to the comic makers.

Now that’s a post I want to make...

Also, while it’s unrelated: There are multiple examples of where anti-semitism and mindless pursuit of wealth intersected. Henry Ford* is one such person. Just like how IBM provided nazis with efficient systems, Ford was selling them the same machines used to kill American soldiers. As well as personally writing and printing antisemitic newspaper articles for Germans. *(I linked a song only because I like the way it presented the facts, the facts can also be found independently on his wiki page,…

You mean to say that the last 120 years were not spent testing anything that turned out to be viable? Aw man, that stinks... ;_; Edit: clarification.

Well, I don’t think I should make a rebuttal where I have none. Touché. I had seen a long list of examples where socialism was said to have worked swimmingly... but most, if not all, were countries smaller to than the U.S. — others were lost to the test of time. But I honestly haven’t researched any of them in depth quite yet. Still working on being more informed on my own views instead of just falling back on tautologies and faulty logic. However, I do express doubt that tyranny of the majority…

It’s not that hard to remember if you interact with trans people at all. Might want to remember your audience here: I’ve never seen a trans person besides the depictions online. So how does that distinction help?

Well, can it be used on LGBTQ people without causing extreme confusion? Would you specifically call a “Non-trans” gay person cis-? I’d argue not. Linguistics are weird like that.

Let me clarify: I don’t like “American socialism”, it’s not promising. The rest of the world has different brands of “socialism” that looks nothing like what we picture when we say it. Our version of socialism sucks. Venezuela’s version of socialism sucks. Corruption and good policy of any sort cannot exist simultaneously, whether in a capitalist society or a socialist one. Also, “human nature” proves itself to be flexible, corruptible, and exploitable. Not much of an appeal to purity there. And…

Feminists, being ever so benign as they are immediately began attacking men and making fun of them over it even though someone actually died trying to pretend yet again they have it so much worse with their version of the contraceptive pill. Ahem. Feel free to use “I said” as many times as you wish. I was referencing this line verbatim and you couldn’t be bothered to read what you wrote. You're just spouting the usual NPC anti-capitalist lines of bashing corporations and claiming Capitalism bad …

I can say “the evils of butter” and stuff my mouth with several sticks of the artery-killer without an actual contradiction: it’s stupid and weakens my argument, yes, but it’s not contradictory. You have a set of logic of how the world works, and I used that exact set of logic to demonstrate that it is indeed not working. Meanwhile, if you read your own arguments you contradicted yourself on multiple accounts. Calling their version of the pill “much worse” really isn’t helping you. I do admit th…

I love good discussions like this. Yeah, I think marketing departments are a good counterexample for the “cultural perception” type of argument. Good point. I know nothing about the patents though, admittedly. That’s cool that there’s still a good place to start: demonstrating science behind an actual pill would justify the research costs.

Disprove me, then I’ll shut up. We are actively blocking attempts on a new product with a clear and measured demand. This is anti-competition. You need competition for capitalism to work, correct?

That's quitter talk. It's not like a multi-billion dollar industry is in the way of producing such products, right? /s Edit: Whoa, 30 years of experience. Legit nice to know there’s informed peeps in here :-)

That was a political thing that showed the exact reason why we need Men’s rights being championed by more than just one party.

Disagree. The wiki page deterred me away, even though I grew up seeing my mother beat my father, me, and my siblings whenever she got angry. I looked on the wiki page at least a few years before I knew this sub existed. The last thing I wanted was to lend credence to being called a misogynist (yes, that was my ma’s projection on me) for just not wanting to be physically and mentally abused. And such things were enabled by both of my parents. “Be a man” from a man that was both mentally abusive b…

Wow, look a troll. Let’s take pictures and frame them for a lifetime. Sorry, I meant to say “shame them for a lifetime”. That’s much more accurate when you look back on how stupid you’re acting on the internet. Edit: the troll’s post was removed, but consisted of a string of slurs and curses in an incoherent sentence.

Yeah, we just need to make our own multi-billion dollar company and ignore recognizing right’s movements of everyone else except men. It’s a foolproof idea! /s

That’s an inaccurate depiction of my statement. It’s more like “grow the fuck up and do something that people will listen to”. Edit: Hey look, I got downvoted! Was at two votes earlier. Neat, I guess I pissed someone off and they didn’t want to talk. Wasn’t my intention to do so, but whatever. But yeah, men do get shit on by society constantly.

Tbh, based on the number of downvotes... I think Reddit isn’t a place for promoting actual good ideas anymore. The good people are too busy going out to do the right thing... the rest are on Reddit sitting on their asses and stewing in hate.

Nah, action combined with discourse wins. No one focuses you on how the actions that went with Ghandi, MLK Jr., etc. actually worked. They struck at people’s wallets as well as their ideals. With the march to the sea and the sit-ins and lawsuits, etc. They were the voices. Voices are deemed more dangerous to the status quo than actions. Because when you change enough minds, you bring about permanent change What gets erased from history are ones that didn’t have a consistent “peaceful protest” vo…

Whoo, found the warrior. You can be angry, just don’t put the anger into printed language. That’s where everything goes wrong and everyone looks bad. Just one look at the Wikipedia page for Men’s rights is enough to turn people away. We need to change that perception. Edit: I’m saying “grow the fuck up“, not “man up”. We’ve identified that the anger exists, so acting on it strategically should bring you closer to happiness. I know it’s called “Men’s rights” but— yunno — don’t make the movement l…

Pretty much. If by some form of anomaly happened — Thanos snapped and all the men were gone — I’m sure their scientists would try recreating the Y chromosome going “Aw, fuck. We’re gonna go extinct soon as the sperm banks run out”. The rest would be grieving their dead sons, fathers, grandfathers, male friends, or significant others, others would be psychopaths saying “good riddance”. Hell, I know I would be a bit more upset than whoever made this awful quote... if all the women were snapped awa…

... so? I care not what they talk about. What does it matter that they support men’s rights too? It’s not a partisan thing, it’s a grassroots idea of social activism. Unlike what people want you believe, supporting men’s rights is not a crusade against feminism. No room for embracing angry misogynists* in our movement, it weakens the cause. Objections to gynocentrism is certainly ok though. *I’m assuming that you know about the types of posts that go on over there in T_D, specifically targeted s…
