It’s a generalization because it’s not well documented. There aren’t any studies supporting that claim

Because they see it as harmful to the woman if she doesn’t get married especially if she has children or could have children. you said they see it as harmful to the man if he gets married. why do they care more about the ball and chain than the prisoner? I actually never claimed that I just said that there is a sentiment out there that is common. That marriage is bad for men. That wives are a ball and chain, and that men don’t actually like being married. Now that marriage rates are in the toile…

men have to sign up for the draft and we've had multiple. tens of thousands of men sent to die. young boys genitally mutilated without consent. government ignores this sexual assault. bodily autonomy ignored. lol some of you pro choice people are so dishonest

I don't believe in bodily autonomy. but there is no intervening by government on men’s autonomy. the draft and circumcision do you think men and women are the same? if men and women aren't the same do you think an equal law could have different effects on them? if men and women are the same what's the point in having this conversation? There would be less abortions if all men were forced to have vasectomies by the government and only reversed when they’re ready to have children. That would be th…

A lot of men do portray the idea of getting married as something bad for him because he won’t be able to sleep around anymore well a lot of men do portray the idea of getting married as something good for him because he gains a wife and children, both of which he loves and wants to share a good life with. Yes but it was like a love hate thing. do you think any media portrayed genuine love between a husband and wife Family mostly, friends sometimes and the broader society. why? you said men thoug…

Are you implying because men would rather throw money at an issue it equals out? slow down and think. where do you think men get that money. they get it at work. they are throwing their labor or time at the issue. you are so biased against men that you missed this obvious truth. slow down. go part time and completely rearrange your life t…

you're still running. and no thats not how equality works. if states can choose which rights men and women have men and women can still be equal under the law. you are probably a decent lawyer you are just concerned about your shrine of abortion and cant see reason on the issue

Media does influence peoples ideas and perceptions about their culture and society. yes it does but using media to suggest that most of society acted a certain way is inaccurate. Yes there are a lot of dumb jokes about oh my wife wont let me have a man cave that doesn't reflect men's overall stance toward their wives. The media portrayals are evidence of the sentiment by the way. do you think there are any media portrayals of men who loved their wives during that same time period? WellI didn’t s…

how do you think that link or the underlying study supports the claim that men never go out of their way to help their grandparents or siblings, they never take on significant amounts of the housework, or that a lot of them don't even make meals for their family? I left out the rent claim because I'm assuming you didn't mean to take that one on. the fact that women spend more time personally caring for their elderly parents does not mean that men do the things claimed in the comment above. the s…

you're the one arguing that inequality exists so you should prove it instead of me proving the negative by listing every law. The US does not need constitutional guarantees for equality under the law. The constitution can permit something without guaranteeing it. lol look at my lawyer dawg. Have you been out of law school for a long time? Guaranteed rights for an exclusively-affected group does not equal an automatic lack of freedom for another. this works both ways. See the media portrayal of men and marriage throughout the 80s and 90s. media is not a 1:1 reflection of human behavior. Terrible source. Also just culturally marriage traditionally was seen as something that women were “obsessed” with and wanted, and that men entered into begrudgingly. do you have any evidence of this? men are the vast majority of the people proposing and paying for the marriage process. they wouldn't do it if they didn't want to right? the united states is a democracy. women have just as much say as men. the government doesn't mandate women do these things. you can look at polling data without women included and these things wouldn't be mandated. who is forcing women to do those things? whats your source on that
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 01:42 PM

What makes you think these are mens desires? What is the source of this? Regardless cant a man want his wife to do some of those things (obviosuly not feeding his ego) and want to do things for her because of love? If so, why do you believe it is control over love. If not, why do you not believe in love?

The US does have legislative equality. Men and women are different in many ways. Why would they be paid the exact same across a society of 300 million people? I have a law degree thats funny man me too small world Women do not have constitutionally guaranteed equal rights in America. so what? We don't need a specific constitutional guarantee for men and women to be equal under the law. . how did men take it for granted? But remember before this era wives and children were considered a “ball and chain” What makes you think this? They still don’t really value “family.” They just wanna have sex. Why are prostitution and porn not enough to keep them satisfied? just look up how many men still think that a stay at home wife “doesn’t work”, and “isn’t doing anything” https://yougov.com/en-us/articles/35457-stay-at-home-parenting-job-work-poll Is this what you're referring to? prostitution gets people sex. Yes sex is a part of what many young men want from a family. but if we're just talking about the pleasure people get from the sex itself, its not the sole or even primary motivator. we have no reason to believe that

/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:36 PM

"Might be" is not what the post was describing. that is not a fair question. Telling a man that he has no hope of ever finding love or continuing his bloodline is akin to telling someone they have a terminal cancer diagnosis. this is not a "maybe" or "might be".
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:35 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:31 PM

for the vast majority of people family relationships are going to be the ones you want and who end up taking care of you when you're dying. Mortality is a big thing for most of us so we want certain people around us when its time. Again its not just being single.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:31 PM

they want to interact with their kids of course
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:28 PM

How many neets are in your country? whats the source on that? whats the average education attainment of males in your country? whats the source on that? It's impossible for me to offer you a citable study about the number of people who are nice to their mothers. I know and I don't expect you to but maybe we shouldn't say a lot of young men are doing x if we simply believe it based on a handful of people we talk to and online influencers
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:28 PM
-3

I didn't say its only about family. What percentage of married men do you think complain about a dead bedroom? ballpark of course. I think you are just making up that estimate to justify your belief that these young single men don't care about family
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:25 PM

yes you can. those connections are different right?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:24 PM

A prostitute will sleep with you, not give you a child? Not sure where prostitution fits in here yes If family is so important to these men, why don’t we see many of them adopting a child to continue their legacy instead? you said this. If access to women was so important why don't we see many of them getting a prostitute. How do you propose it’s “meaningfully” different? Truly sad that you won't admit this obvious truth. just because it’s not your blood? yes. the physical process involved in ma…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:24 PM

do you have any evidence of these claims? I'm sure there are young men without prospects living at home. I'm sure some of them treat their family in the way you described above. but you were fairly confident that A LOT of young men act that way and you don't seem to have any evidence to support that estimate
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:18 PM

yeah it can be solved without forcing people. People with successful/happy families can promote their own lives in their communities. I don't think the government can do that kind of thing or at least I wouldn't want it to. All the government should do is make the circumstances viable. Can the lonely people be content with adoption/surrogacy and robot partner, once they are made more human-looking? I don't think so. thats fake so its meaningless to most people
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:15 PM

A lot of these young men who are "so desperate" for a family either barely speak to their current family or treat them like shit. what led you to this conclusion? They never go out of their way to help their grandparents or siblings, they never take on significant amounts of the housework, they never pay a market rate for rent, a lot of them don't even make meals for their family. what led you to this conclusion? If a man behaves that way, yeah I don't think he really wants a family of his own b…

/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:08 PM

okay but you can '"access" a woman without family. Prostitution is largely illegal but still easy to get away with. Adopting a child is meaningfully different than having your own child and raising a kid alone is tough.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:08 PM

depends on what you mean by solved. You're talking about the lack of hope of getting married and having kids right?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:05 PM

its not simply being single its dying alone. You're underselling it while complaining about someone overselling it
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 12:00 PM

who wants to take womens rights away?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 11:59 AM

Its not about access to women its about access to family. Does family mean anything to you? Women are denied access to healthcare, education, and bodily autonomy This isn't true but if you really believe it just go vote. There is a direct mechanism to address that 'problem'

If you grow up in a small town and marry the 1st or 2nd girl you date, you have stopped short. If no answer is fool proof why do you say this hypothetical person stopped short so confidently? If you travel around, and visit many different places. Expose yourself to many people and opportunities, you will have Gone Long. You are more worldly. I get that's your argument but there's never really a way to know given that you could go on a date at every opportunity for 10 years and wouldn't even crack 10% of the dating pool right. You can't have certainty about "the one"

Settling down early can work for some, but it usually comes at the cost of understanding what’s actually out there, and who you are within it Given the size of the world and the dating 'markets' that people exist in, does having twenty partners before settling down versus just one really make a dent in knowing what's out there?

liberals love snark lol you can just admit you backpedaled and deflected so we can move on but you'd rather be snarky. I really don't understand why so many liberals love snark

no one is taking issue with the wording just the backpedaling instead of admitting your wrong
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/26 04:37 PM

I don't think you're being honest. You wouldn't put forward numbers as an answer if you didn't know.

/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/26 03:44 PM

You said "Men also tend to go for certain types of women over others. Just as I could bring up women who are into things that aren't typical" implying that men and women have a similar range of preferences. When someone contested that you retreated to a weaker position: "very excited to see the study that shows there are equal numbers of men attracted to every different type of woman". You're other claim is vulnerable so you just take an argument you think you can defend that not all men have th…

Now when he tries to approach any other girl in the same circle, she knows that he was previously rejected by her friend. This drastically reduces chances and gives him bad reputation. He will be considered creep and desperate even if he approaches politely and takes rejection gracefully. Isn't the fact that the women are his second choices also relevant?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/26 03:18 PM

what led you to that conclusion?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/26 03:14 PM

that wasn't the claim why are you retreating to a weaker position? I think its because you're too prideful to admit you were wrong
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/26 03:13 PM

you're missing the point. Just slow down and read. Both men and women make those decisions freely. However, the law says women are the ultimate decision makers on whether to keep the baby and that decision has implications on the mans bodily autonomy. You overlook this because it would expose the flaws in your reasoning and jeopardize your worship of abortion
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/26 08:37 AM
-1

yes it does. the man has no choice. The government forces him to pay child support. Its his body. But you claim that doesn't count because you want to worship your shrine of abortion. I didn't cause you to need a kidney. I'm not responsible for you. Women who can't take accountability create their own problems when they consent to sex so they are responsible for their freely made decisions.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 10:54 PM

you think they are logical because you are biased. It is plainly obvious that he is applying different standards for men and women simply on the basis that he has a soft spot for women. Hey, I need a kidney give me yours that's the world you are advocating for when you tear down bodily autonomy. You and the OP disregard men's bodily autonomy because they have to use their bodies to generate money for child support. /r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 02:30 PM

you do want women to abandon their kids. You said it earlier. Men have to own up to the fact that they had sex but women don't. I'm guessing you're a liberal why are you so opposed to admitting your worldview favors women? The world and your opinions exist outside of this post man. Nobody is ignoring it. I'm simply mature enough to recognize there are deeper implications to the ideas underlying this post and admit the relevant truths. Keep downvoting though very insecure and sad
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 11:47 AM

you are advocating for it though. Why are you pining so hard for them without admitting it? Bruh just say "i'm biased in women's favor". It won't hurt
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 10:55 AM
-2

But not for kids neglected by their mothers? You don’t have to lie to me man you have a bias in favor of women. I’m not saying that makes you a bad guy
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 09:38 AM
-4

Tell the woman to not get pregnant. Problem solved. The man shouldn’t be responsible for her disinterest in pregnancy. You just have a soft spot for women on this issue. Which is fine in and of itself but don’t pretend to have a legitimate opinion
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 09:26 AM
-2

so physical impacts are the only ones that matter? What about the man being impacted by legally enforced child support payments? that requires him to use his body to work right?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 09:04 AM
1

I got that no offense. My point was that your logic for why its out of his control but still his responsibility isn't consistent. According to you, the guy is responsible because its his kid but he has no control because the woman might end up in a situation that she doesn't want. You haven't explained why the woman gets to choose her preferred outcome but the man doesn't.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 08:59 AM
-8

it wasn't forced on anybody. They both consented to the sex
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 08:51 AM

so why does he lose control? its still his kid. Why are there different standards for control and responsibility?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 08:37 AM

What do you mean exactly and why are you applying my argument only to PC answers I'm happy to answer if you have a more specific question. No offense but I think I've been pretty clear. I'm just using PC as a shorthand for lying because I thought we were both assuming these are not intentionally malicious lies Personally I would not consider you "successful" in this "avoid confrontation style", if the person you are talking to is aware that you lie and confronts you on that. You're talking about…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 01:53 PM

But to have that happen repeatedly and consistently without you doing anything to make it happen is highly unlikely Why do you think so? I disagree. Many people are willing to let the perceived slight of a PC answer go. You are talking about what happens after though that's a different argument. No it is not. The reaction is part of the argument. If nothing that happens after the statement is considered none of this matters. Lying and telling the truth only require the ability to speak then. No …
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 12:27 PM

yes I think the vast majority will be too scared to approach them romantically if they had the opportunity. I'm not saying they wouldn't go ask for an autograph or picture (although many would be scared to do that) but thats a different question
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 12:19 PM

Many men and women choose not to approach because of fear of rejection not because they don't desire the other but I think I agree with you on the other points
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 11:48 AM
0

But to lie in order to avoid a certain reaction you must realise and know that this certain reaction is about to happen. No you do not. You can simply think it will without truly knowing. Someone might be really ignorant and still come to the 'correct' conclusion. So if Op claims that women lie to avoid something he must recognise that women possess the skill of anticipating that a negative reaction would be the result of the truth. not true for the same reason. A successful lie also requires th…

thats an illogical position but nothing inherently wrong with it so enjoy I guess
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 10:17 AM

Thats not what you said but even if you want to take that position now it is illogical. You are talking about two different groups of men
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 10:13 AM

Please just slow down and read. You essentially claimed men who don't get any matches on dating apps are liars and as evidence for that claim you are citing your experience with men who get matches. That is illogical
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 10:10 AM
2

What apps? If its a dating app you've missed the point no offense. We're talking about guys who don't get any matches. They could be different because of how they were born and raised.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 10:06 AM
2

How are you coming across these men? What are they lying about? How do you know they are similar to the men not getting any matches?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 09:57 AM
2

See a difference in what? I understand that those two sentences are different claims. I'm only stating that you have not explained why your interpretation is true. You just chose a framing that shows women as more skilled than men. I could just say that being honest and anticipating and reacting to a negative response requires more skill than lying to avoid the negative response in the first place.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 09:52 AM

I agree but that wasn't the point. You stated that men being more honest on dating apps is bollocks. The other commenter wasn't sure how you came to that conclusion because so many men don't get any matches at all. You are supposed to explain how you can know men are lying on their profile if nobody's interacting with them.

I'm sure that's true but that has nothing to do with men who don't get any swipes

It's hard to say who has better social skills. I think social skills largely depend on the context of the interaction and even the characteristics of the person being judged.

How is your point any different from the argument that women don't say what they think because they lack the skill of anticipating and reacting to how someone will take bad news?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 09:33 AM
-4

How do you know they're lying then?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/26 09:30 AM

Maybe you’re not familiar with American stores but over here you can pick the flowers you want
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/26 09:42 AM

You could argue that it's not enough effort but there is nothing more personal about picking wild flowers. Good for you though nothing wrong with liking wild flowers
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/26 08:57 PM

well if thats what she wants why are you concerned about advice? No need to engage with the person talking about flowers
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/26 05:05 PM

I didn't know that was the main goal. I think thats an immoral goal but if what you want is sex what does she get out of it? If she just wants sex too then flowers means nothing to either party
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/26 04:36 PM

I think he was just using hyperbole to emphasize women being approached for dating much more often than men

If both are working during the day they should split the chores equally. Aside from something a wo/man can’t do like breast feeding or maybe moving a really heavy crib. Try hats perfectly possible. can you show me these reports? Or is it just a large group of anecdotal experience? That would be fine its just that my anecdotes suggest the opposite It's like when you ask a person straightforward does he think that women should be able to take leading roles and he will say yes, and he will think that he is egalitarian. /r/PurplePillDebate21/03/26 09:26 AM

Are you just exaggerating or do you genuinely believe those things are true for all women. Yes I agree that very few women convert as adults. Do you have an explanation for those cases? Respectfully, it doesn’t really convey a consistent belief if you have no answer for that.

men are at more danger on a date. Maybe an example will help cause I don't think I've been communicating this properly. I'm a guy going on a date with a girl. /r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 08:38 AM
-4

Why is the gender of the person committing the violence relevant? Men face more violence in almost every setting
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 08:32 AM

The fact that other men are doing it to them does not change how safe the average man feels. I personally don’t care if someone who mugs me is a man or woman I just don’t want to be mugged. Men are the majority of the victims. They have more reason to be concerned about violence. What makes you think men generally view women that way? What informs your conclusion?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 08:22 AM
-5

But if men face more danger why should the comparison matter? What does the comparison add?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 08:20 AM

Why the snark?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 08:01 AM

Men are much more likely to be victims of violent crime than women. Regardless, I do not believe men generally view dating as an opportunity for sex. I believe this because of the men I know personally, a couple inferences from polls on young people’s relationships, and forums like these directed at men. Why do you believe men view dating primarily as an opportunity for sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 07:58 AM

Men actually have more dangers. Are you talking specifically about the romantic relationship context?

I'm not even asking about proof I'm just curious what informs your view on men generally. Like my view on men's standard is largely informed by the people I know and because of that it skews conservative and Christian. I try to think about that when factoring in men's opinions that I see online. I haven't dated much in my life and I don't know that many women closely, at least outside of family, so I don't talk about these types of things with women at least half as much with men. Most of the wo…

Responding to the whole complaint that “Women care about sexual/physical attraction above all else”. If that’s a legitimate grievance, it’s the current year. Why do you think this is the complaint? I don't think it is. I think when men complain about women's sexual attraction its usually that they think its too concentrated on a small percentage of men or that women are not up front about it. I don't think men are complaining about the fact that it is considered more important than other factors…

I don't think there is one logical rule that "solves" dating or any logical rule that is always true in dating but are there not logical rules that tend to be true? Like where do you draw the line on observing traits that tend to produce a certain results and a series of rules that is no longer predictive?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 01:01 PM

What makes you think men in general have that belief or desire? Do you think that about men in general?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 12:59 PM

How do you think men have done that? Do you think the men that have built society have catered solely to the whims of women in doing so?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 12:58 PM

No I do not think they are complicit. I think they should interfere if its not just like the kid getting spanked but that doesn't mean they support it if they choose not to. There are other reasons why a person would choose not to interfere.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 12:56 PM

How do you know they are supporters if they are silent? What does support mean to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 12:43 PM

thats fair enough. I don't see men criticizing generalization of women as much as I seem them criticizing generalization of men, although that goes both ways. Regardless, I don't think that means that men are more likely to engage in this conflicting opinions. How can we know that the same men are the ones leaving the conflicting comments on this sub? Its like the goomba fallacy meme
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 12:33 PM

Can you link me to three male users displaying these contradictions?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 12:26 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/26 10:16 AM

how would that mean that men are attracted to women that look like a male version of themselves? Couldn't it be true that outward appearance matters more to men or women but that they are not attracted to their opposite sex equivalent? Like what if Men just tended to prefer women with certain hairstyles that just dont translate for female to male comparisons? I don't think bald men prefer women who are bald or even just have shorter hair generally.

I'm assuming you believe parents are the ones pushing women down that path? I'm just curious what makes you think that. I was raised in a Christian household so maybe my experience isn't the most universal but even in the middle/upper-middle class communities I grew up in, there never seemed to be a push for financial stability above everything else or that a woman's needs should come second to peace and keeping a man happy.

you did imply that how? Okay then please chill. That was not my argument. If you read my comment I never said or implied that you were talking about all men. Why do so many men whine about being lonely yet they won't approach women at coffee shops, parks, fairs, events, bookstores etc? Women want to be approached, and it is frustrating men aren't garnering the courage to do so. Nothing empirical to say but for me and most of the guys I know, when we have decided not to approach a woman we are otherwise interested in, its largely because we are afraid of rejection. To be fair I think flirting, by definition, is a way of showing someone that you’re interested in them without stating it explicitly. Good flirting seems like the type of thing that varies depending on the context. The only thing that the sub seems to agree on is being physically attractive to the person you’re flirting with helps. /r/PurplePillDebate05/01/26 09:31 AM
1

no you want some gender inequality. Maybe you're indifferent to it actually? but you don't want gender equality. Also, preferring a man to pay on a date is not discrimination. It is. The expectation is placed on him because he is a man. To be clear you think treating people simply differently because of their gender is consistent with gender equality?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 10:51 PM
1

you want some gender inequality. Its that simple IDK why you would deny that. What we mean is that we reject people not having a choice in what gender roles they want to play. You also reject nondiscrimination. Many women, probably yourself included, want men to pay on dates because they are men and they encourage that behavior. I'm not saying this to insult anybody. Its not a bad thing. I think men should pay too. The point is its just blatant inequality
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 10:22 PM
1

Feminists supporting equality does not mean they also have to reject all gender roles. That is what it means. Just change your statement to feminists support gender equality in some cases but not all. Also, I will keep reiterating this, men do not have to ask women out I agree its just that many women prefer it that way and encourage that behavior
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 09:46 PM

If women genuinely want to see fewer young men falling into red-pill ideology, then they also need to step up and help change the dating script — not just condemn the result. That means questioning traditional expectations that advantage women and aligning dating behavior with the equality many claim to support. full context but again your assertion is wrong. This DOES NOT mean that the OP wants everyone to have the same experience. It means that a consistent position would be to not determine w…

Can you quote a specific usage that is inappropriate? nd all of the social norms that he and you are talking about are mostly a means to an end, and that end is sex. I'm sure this is true for many people but not everybody
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 08:40 PM
1

What makes you think this post is equating not having sex with systemic oppression? social norms contribute to inequality between the genders by pressuring people to treat people differently on the basis of gender
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 08:28 PM
1

Wishing to not be treated differently because of your gender is not the same as wanting everyone to have the same experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 05:14 PM
2

The definition you subscribe to is inadequate then. Social norms in dating contribute to inequality between the genders. That is not necessarily a bad thing but it is necessarily unequal and therefore you cannot have a definition of gender equality that excludes those norms.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 08:56 AM
-1

why did you dodge the question? Are you afraid? The definition of gender equality which you subscribe to has nothing to do with social gender norms in dating between men and women right?

Your definition of gender equality has nothing to do with social gender norms in dating between men and women right?

OP is literally making that argument quote it then Nope, same claim I've been making the whole time. "A woman not wanting to date a particular man does not mean she doesn't want equality" is different than "Not wanting to date someone is not oppression" If you can't respond with the OPs quote and admit that those two statements are different please just drop this conversation here
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 07:06 AM
5

That doesn't mean I have to date those women. No one is making that argument. No, it's pretty straightforward. Not wanting to date someone is not oppression. You changed your claim again. You either terribly misunderstood the post or realized you were wrong and now refuse to debate the issue so you don't have to admit it
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 06:57 AM
3

His conclusion could be true but this Because they are claiming that women's desire for equality is "fake" if they won't give men an equal chance. is not true. No one can desire true gender equality while also believing that one gender should pay for dates. I think people have a hard time admitting this fairly obvious statement because "inequality" is treated as inherently bad and many people just want to be treat or be treated to a date without judgment.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 06:54 AM

We want to you to have the CHOICE to follow them or not. This is basically what the original post is talking about. I'm not sure if you're a troll or just so ideologically captured that you can't concede the most obvious points.

Whether a man has to ask a woman out on the date or not is so completely irrelevant to the tenants of equality that feminists fight for—it’s not even a discussion of equality By definition, it is a discussion of gender equality. It is simply a discussion that many if not the vast majority of women don't want to have. Most of the men I know don't have a problem with that. The problem identified in the original post is the selective traditionalism that is apparent in your comment no offense. Some …

Why Is it my responsibility to make women someone you’d want to date? It is not your responsibility. Respectfully, that has nothing to do with whether inconsistent application of traditional expectations fuels RP. You guys don’t pay to be traditional you are simping to compete for the attractive women I'm sure this is true of a substantial number of men but again it does not respond to the post's argument. Do you think your use of the term "systemic inequality" and the post's use of the broader term "equality" is a relevant difference? Do you think systemic inequality can be created or influenced by large groups of ordinary/everyday individuals?

I think the post is arguing against inconsistent application of traditional expectations.

Because they are claiming that women's desire for equality is "fake" if they won't give men an equal chance. Well the desire for complete equality is fake if that is true. How can anyone claim to desire true or complete equality between men and women while also believing that men should pick up the tab when dating? I would agree that belief is not oppression but it is inconsistent with complete equality. A woman not wanting to date a particular man does not mean she doesn't want equality. This i…

Because loyalty is a good part of what gives human value. I agree that loyalty is good but I don't think that justifies OP's position. From his perspective, the other relationships which are supposedly deserving of higher value, could also be disloyal. Maybe the parents prefer one kid to another. Maybe the siblings prefer one brother to another. Unfortunately women are only loyal to themselves and would happily chuck their husbands, brothers and sons into a wood chipper if that meant getting a n…

/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 10:13 PM

I left that out because the follow up sentence does not establish that the previous sentence applies to a very small minority. Men will literally blame Rihana for “choosing a bad man” when she was beat black and blue by Chris Brown. Are you walking around with your eyes closed? Genuine victim blaming is what people are having for breakfast. “What were you wearing?” You're not talking about specific men justifying their own behavior then? its just men discussing the behavior of men generally?

men still have a number rights and powers in todays worlds, hold most chairs in the government, and manage most of my (USA’s) country’s wealth This applies to a vanishingly small percentage of men in the US. Some of you might be tempted to argue that a father can simply opt in to rights for his child by agreeing with the mother to the pregnancy, birth, and care of that child. But you cannot unilaterally opt into rights over another person by agreeing to care for that person. That's not what you said here. If you can consent to an obligation, it’s not an obligation, regardless why not?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/25 11:45 AM

No you did not. I was hoping you would elaborate because obviously the consent negates your argument regarding unilaterally opting in.

But you cannot unilaterally opt into rights over another person by agreeing to care for that person. Just because we wanted to send the message that we don't feel safe around random men doesn't mean they don't want men to approach us. That message was projected in such a rude way (choosing the bear) that many men will happily throw it back in Women's faces when the opportunity arises. I think most men recognize that those two beliefs can coexist. Its more about righting a wrong for people who make those comments.

because most women filtered out good relationship traits for things that sexually excites them. I don't think this is true. I think "good relationship traits" still matter its just that you need to be physically attractive in the first place and it seems that women naturally tend to have greater preferences for certain immutable physical characteristics. Women have to leave their position to give birth. You knew this right? Staying at home with the child costs women career opportunities. That's not a penalty. Are people who leave work to play video games all day penalized? Thats a choice which is generally beneficial for both parties due to the nature of pregnancy Every single expense that raising an entire human necessitates is viewed as the parents sole responsibility. Women are financially penalized for giving birth and care giving and socially ostracized for being a woman with a child. I disagree. How do you think this happens? Women are financially rewarded for giving birth through child tax credits. Single mothers also get additional SNAP like benefits. It seems like no statistic that doesn’t fit your narrative would be acceptable to you so this discussion is useless. Respectfully, you haven't critically engaged with any of the stats you've cited. You're just throwing numbers out there. If you reread my comments I made genuine arguments regarding the use of those stats to imply that a certain number of …

And now when confronted with a statistic that 1/5 women experienced rape in the US and over 30% of the surveyed educated college students actually admitting that they would force sex (and when you call it rape directly, still 13% would say sure, let’s go!) and you’re still denying that the number of perpetrators is much higher than 1%? yes I'm denying it. I explained why I think your data is flawed earlier and you're still misinterpreting the 30% and 13% statistics. Are those 1% some kind of all…

Huh? Of course it makes you a rapist if you attempt rape wtf! Just because he couldn’t finish because the victim was resisting too much, doesn’t change that he is a rapist. Does attempted murder make someone a murderer? The logic just doesnt make sense. Someone doesn't actually have to rape someone to be a rapist. Obviously failing to rape doesn't make it okay but it does mean that a rape didn't occur. I'm sure attempted rapists are more likely to rape someone in the future. The statistics look …

Your data is flawed thats why. You can't conclude that a certain number of men have raped simply because a reputable organization published some stats. You have to scrutinize the numbers and methodology.

I think reports are just reports at the end of the day and I'm not going to assume a rape happened simply because an alleged victim reported one. I'm definitely not going to assume a rape has occurred simply because someone said so in a survey after apparently not reporting it to the police.

And you make a difference in that because…? Do you think sexual assault is acceptable? I think sexual assault is immoral. I'm making a difference because I think the claim of mine which you responded to was about the percentage of men that have committed a murder or rape.

Yeah, so a guy who attempted to rape is not a rapist? Attempted rape is not rape. And drug/alcohol facilitated rape is still rape. I don't think most women have been victims of SA. I don't know what the number is but at least in the United States 50% of women being the victim of a violent crime would be insanely high. It is always safer to turn to women for help when you get harassed or you are alone/helpless. They will help you out. For just harassment sure but its probably safer to turn to a man if you're being attacked It’s also the popular hate topic of some men when they talk about the “fridge protecting the snacks”. I don't think those men are talking about harassment. From their perspective they're just trying to approach a woman and the friend is preventing that out of jealous/bitterness/delusion/etc

I think men make their discontent or primal impulses everyone else’s problem. They externalize it more, women internalize it more. Plenty of research on this. Can you cite them and explain why they support your argument. My instinct is that the men's issue gets more attention because men feel as if they have no options and women feel as if they have bad options. The no options or the lack of quantity is just a more interesting discussion in my opinion

But you still had choices. You could choose to hang out with friends or other trusted adults there's strength in numbers. You could choose to remove yourself from the situation so you don't have to give an answer. You could choose to call the police if you're that afraid. You could choose to carry pepper spray. It's only been a few years where women have that choice. What do you mean by a few? Women have had these choices for hundreds of years. Being a stay at home parent with a man comes at a cost to the woman. What are the male choices that come with no costs? She loses her autonomy. Her control. And gives it all to him. And that...that is cruel to me. That's all a choice Also, many women were coerced into the relationships to begin with. How were they coerced? how many is many?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/25 12:50 AM

I mean you don't have to be with any given man. You don't have to have kids with any given man. You don't have to stay at home with those kids. Those are three choices that women could make to avoid being SAHM.

How so?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/25 12:41 AM

How? What about your observations makes you think its one instead of the other?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 10:55 AM
1

Because we got the great advice of "be confident". I think this advice is often given because people don't want to address tougher issues like certain traits that can't be changed which will almost always be perceived as unattractive
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 10:54 AM

Does that mean "bragging and shoving ego in their face" is perceived as confidence? Couldn't it just mean that people are overlooking those negative traits in favor of other positive traits?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 10:44 AM

I'm not disputing the existence of pretty privilege. I think we agree that it exists. I'm just not sure why you believe it means that people will see negative traits such as bragging and being egotistical as a positive trait like confidence. In my opinion it makes more sense that pretty privilege cause people to overlook or ignore negative traits in favor of the pretty trait

As in men believe women who tend to have sex earlier on in previous relationships should continue that behavior. If that's your point I think men, at least the ones who complain about the continuation of that standard, do believe that women enjoyed doing so with previous partners and that is part of why they want the behavior to continue. Its all anecdotal though so I guess we just disagree
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 10:16 AM

Men often tell here how humiliating it is to be treated "worse" than previous partners. When men say this, I think they're referring to treatment or activities that they believe the woman they're pursuing would have enjoyed with a previous partner. So I think your comparison is off if you really are trying to make a point because many of the men who say "how humiliating it is to be treated "worse" than previous partners" also only pay because they believe the woman expects or requires them to do…

I'm not sure but I don't think exclusivity needs to be certified to prevent hookup culture.
