Why even tell people what you're doing. The whole point of pickup is self-development. Only tell people if they're also into it. Also, don't shit where you eat. Go somewhere else to do pickup unless you want word to travel fast.

If you're looking for the path of least resistance, sure. The whole point of game though is to manipulate the attraction triggers.

The best sales guys just give you the facts and are knowledgeable about the product. They legitimately are trying to help you understand the thing you're thinking of buying and whether it's for you. This idealized version of a salesperson is very passive. It's hardly even sales, it's just a relaying of information. Anything beyond this is just annoying, it's them trying to obfuscate or jam something down your throat that you don't need. Most sales pitches of this type (i.e. true sales) are just …

I understand what you're saying. On the one hand, using props is inauthentic and hacky. But really anything guys do can be classified as "just doing it to get chicks". Making money, having nice clothes, etc. etc. Why do all that if not yo get chicks? So for me, I just think of peacocking as a subdivision of fashion. Is it inauthentic to care about fashion? Probably on some level. But it's just one of those things that people do - far from out of the ordinary. To take this 50 cent example further…

Lol bro just because you took a concept and took it to the extreme, doesn't mean it's not a good suggestion. I mentioned 50 cent just to show that wearing accessories is common for men. You realize you're attacking the very general suggestion to wear something interesting to spark a conversation. No one said it had to be some gaudy piece. It can be something nice and stylish, or something with personal meaning / a story behind.

Far too obvious? To wear a necklace ? You know there are non pua males who wear jewelery from time to time. 50 cent would like a word with you..

Don't overdo it on the weed, don't want things to get awkward. A little weed and alittle booze is a good combo. Not too much, or you'll both get tired and / anxious. Go for the hookup, don't chicken out. After 2 drinks and a little weed, hopefully you're laughing by then. Put your arm around her, then a couple minutes later go for the kiss. If she's into it cop a feel after 5 minutes, but don't go all in, just test the waters and retreat. If she's into it proceed. Same pattern for escalating to …

"peacocking is ancient". How is wearing one distinctive item (like a necklace or ring with personal meaning to you) to serve as a potential conversation starter an outdated concept ?

You arent beyond shiet. 1) game still works. 2) most of you cant pull a new girl every month, let alone a new girl every day / week like they could. The routines are stale, of course. But the principles still work. Things like negs have to be disguised and other material adapted. It's definitely not something you want to commit your life to, but it's there, should you choose to use it.

He's just whimsically making the point that free sex for a guy is very hard to turn down. I mean, it's true, especially if they've already hooked up multiple times in the past. What's one more time to him? There's literally 0 chance hed say no. It was also said a bit tongue in cheek, so no need to take it super seriously

Bruh ... you got it all wrong! A movie first date is only inadvisable if you actually go to the theater. A movie date at your place is like an instant lay. It is exactly the netflix and chill scenario. Go into it thinking that. Have a couple drinks, joke and flirt before the movie starts, do the stereotypical yawn or cough and put your arm around her as a joke, then go for a makeout, escalate from there. A girl doesn't invite herself over unless she's ready to bang. Be persistent, but if she giv…

I disagree here. If it's already a foregone conclusion that you will meet and she's dependable in that respect, texting her is just part of an already-formed relationship. The point of keeping texting to a minimum initially is to screen out girls who aren't ready or willing to meet. But this girl is willing to meet. In other words, once a relationship is formed, if you like her, then text her back to the best of your ability or just be transparent about when you're busy and can't text. If she st…

And a guy can't show interest in you in person? Obviously, yes, yes he can. Some women may prefer a more engaging experience via texting before a date, but I'm willing to wager that 99% of them will let a guy like TS slide if they have a good, engaging experience on a date. In other words, a good in-person interaction supersedes anything that does or does not occur via text. The whole point, anyway, is not to provide the woman with the optimal dating experience, it's to save time for the guy so …

What the f is with these sales comparisons ... If you establish positive emotions when you obtain a number, then she's going to respond That means generating attraction, making her laugh, maybe some kino. You want to leave her in a state where she's anticipating and hoping for your call. Anyway, the ideal case is closing on the first night you meet her, no number needed - since covid, this is difficult to achieve. Pickup in general is more difficult. Women are much less likely to get with randos…

/r/seduction09/10/20 05:29 AM

It's just a heuristic obviously, not a rule. It guides you to a proper use of your time. Will it be wrong occasionally? Yes. Some woman who wouldn't give you the time of day one day may be receptive another day. But on average, it's better to focus your attention on girls who are receptive.
/r/seduction08/10/20 05:21 PM

The key is it can't look like you're trying hard to make this thing. It has to be done very casually and whimsically. Almost like you're bored actually
/r/seduction08/10/20 03:53 PM

I'm surprised that worked. Much more smooth way of doing it would be to talk to a girl, make good convo, making the swan casually while you're talking (almost to the point where it just looks like you're just fidgeting with a piece of paper). Then midway through, give her the swan. It comes off a lot more casual and natural that way and not like you hand delivered her some kind of present which is a bit lame

Girls who work at any kind of entertainment establishment get hit on frequently. Unless your game is good, or youre exactly her type, it's gonna be a rejection. So from the outset, it's a difficult pull, no shame in failing. You went for a pretty direct opener. A bland one at that. She was forced to make a decision purely on your physical appearance and body language. Add to that the fact that you're already operating at a disadvantage since she gets hit on frequently, it's easy to see why you w…

How to "introduce sex" ? LOL. Sounds like some kind of business proposition by the wording. You don't introduce it, you go for it. Kiss on date 1, fun date 2 with a lot of kino and ending in makeout, date 3 whatever it is just make sure you have the logistics right (end the date alone at your / her place). Make out in your / her apt and sex will be almost sure to follow.
/r/seduction05/10/20 09:08 PM

Step 1: tell her about existing plans you have. You're going to go through with those plans whether she's there or not. Ask her if she wants to join. If she flakes again... Step 2: back off and do your own thing. Don't make an effort to invite her anywhere or make plans. If she makes an effort and makes the plans and invites you somewhere, you can go join. If she somehow flakes after inviting you somewhere then drop communication for good, unless she literally comes knocking on your door late on…

Tinder sucks. If you're not extremely good looking she's not going to be super enthusiastic about chatting with you, since she knows close to nothing about you other than how you look. If you're lucky, you'll hook up with a chick who is as attractive as you are - best case. Usually, you'll have to go several steps lower. 50% of matches don't message back, a good chunk of the remaining matches are dry and unenthusiastic like you describe. The pandemic puts a chill on things even further. Unless y…

/r/seduction23/09/20 06:41 PM

I made it up, it's not meant to be actually a good one, it's an example of a situational opener related to them both being on the bus. Instead of a snoring man, he'd make a comment about something that was actually happening on the bus or after they got off. The idea is that if you can think of some comment to make about the situation you're both in (ideally a humorous one), it's a better ice breaker than something like "I like your hair". I didn't invent the concept of situational openers. I'm …

Uh "usually" means more often than not, meaning most of the time. If you only meant some of the time, you could have said: "When women are nice, they often want something".
/r/seduction23/09/20 03:49 PM

Here's a better method - I'll use this bus example. Make some humorous observation and use that as an excuse to chat with her. "Did you hear that guy snoring on the bus? Gross!" <she chimes in> "My name's ______. Nice to meet you". <conversation continues> Situational openers are always low risk and a good way to break the ice. Because it's not direct, you'll have to work to build attraction through the conversation by making jokes, maybe doing some light kino, etc.

I just felt the need to respond to this: " When women are nice. They usually want something. They are nice to manipulate your perception of them so that you will like them and do stuff for them. Or for other narcissistic reasons. " There are a lot of women who don't think like this. I would even say most women are not like this, only the most narcissistic of them. Understood it's a simplification, but this is a bit too far in my view. Anyway, thanks.

There are genuinely nice women and men, I think you're oversimplifying. I think the better take is this: A lot of guys don't have any other options to get women except to be "nice". A lot of these "nice" guys also think that if they're nice enough the girl is obligated to reward that with a relationship or sex. which isn't true obviously. If a guy is in a position of superiority, but he chooses to be nice (i.e. he has the option to not be nice but he chooses otherwise) then you know he's being g…
/r/seduction23/09/20 03:17 PM

Hard to say honestly. There are many variables at play from your outward appearance, your approach, your banter, your text game, etc. You're getting the numbers so they at least think you're nice and/or nonthreatening but the attraction isn't there. Work on yourself (lift weights, make sure your physical appearance is on point) then consult some classic pickup materials, probably lots of free pdfs floating around.
/r/seduction21/09/20 06:41 AM

When you speak to them are you making them smile and laugh ? Do they seem receptive ?
/r/seduction21/09/20 06:32 AM

Hmm well if you got the numbers from in-person interactions, it's most likely something you're doing wrong. Hard to know what though without knowing more details. If I had to give one bit of advice, you have to generate attraction, then comfort, get the number, and then leave them with a good feeling. If you're just going up to girls and asking them for a number, you're not setting yourself up for a good outcome. You have to elicit positive feelings so she'll want to respond to your text.

You're criticizing a sub for being what it explicitly aims to be, a place to exchange tips on how to seduce women. Your critiques are along the lines of "this isn't what women truly want". Well, duh, this sub is about what the men here want: to seduce women. Actual critiques against pickup have been made, they generally suggest that the act of engaging in pickup corrupts the pickup artists and leads them down an unfulfilling path full of bitterness and resentment. You can look at this as an opportunity. I'm sure these girls crave social interaction and intimacy just as much as you do. Socialize as much as you can. Be nice, funny, outgoing, try to organize some social events somewhere on / off campus, listen to them. Put yourself out there. Work out / exercise too. Some girl will buy in.

Lift weights - > more confidence, look more alpha, fit into clothing better. Drink - > loosen up, come off as funny / likable, more confidence If you don't want to drink, you need to bring women into your comfort zone, where you feel most at home and confident. Where you can really be yourself. Hopefully you're not truly a boring person and have a good personality. If so, you need to find an environment where that can shine.

The real critique is: how do we know that, after spending countless hours and hours trying to pick up women in bars and clubs, the guys aren't getting better at it through sheer practice, rather than these principles having any merit? Your critique is partially that this is merely a numbers game. If, a…

You're misinterpreting me. I'm just saying that every guy, regardless of his innate looks, can optimize his appearance to look better. Not that getting a haircut can turn you into Brad Pitt. That's step one. This gets you to a stage where hot women will even bother engaging with you. Step two is learning how to turn on the innate attraction switches in women. This part is just a con, really. You only have to act the part for one night, in a club or bar setting. You think this is THAT hard? Most …
/r/seduction14/09/20 08:37 AM

There are a number of ways people take the word 'looks'. Some prone to fatalistic thinking take looks to be this static quality you're born with - so obviously in that case you have to mention that you can improve your looks to a point by working out, eating well, and fixing your teeth/hair. The other things can be lumped in with 'looks' but are more indicative of your behavior / personality - like hygiene (i.e. does this guy care about his appearance?). So it's not undermining the point to sugg…

"Looks matter" is what losers tell themselves to justify not trying - it's what incels cling to, this idea that they already have no shot before they even try. Obviously they matter in certain situations, but the basic idea behind pickup is that women are attracted to MORE than just looks, so you can make up for a deficit in looks by 1) optimizing what you already have by dressing well, working out, getting a tan, being well-groomed, fixing your teeth, etc. and 2) hitting those alternate attract…

I don't know why you're so interested in my take, I'm asking YOU for YOUR take. I've been asking from the beginning. I have this idea in my head: Neill Strauss actually did make this transformation, he certainly represented himself as having made the transformation in interviews and even to this day he's known as a recovering sex addict / former pickup artist. You're seeming to cast doubt on that. I want to know why. This isn't difficult.
/r/seduction02/09/20 10:49 PM
1

Alright Socrates, could we skip the dialogue and can you get to the point, I read the book like a decade ago: what are you trying to say? Neil Strauss isn't actually good with women? That he wasn't bad with women before The Game? what? And part 2 - why do you think what you think.
/r/seduction02/09/20 10:45 PM
1

He details his transformation in his book, "The Game", from a hopeless nerd to someone who could get with girls. So my question is, are you doubting he actually made this transformation? That really what he learned was about how to manipulate and deceive hapless men out of their money? Edit: Also, reading a summary of "rules of the game", he details his own "lavish sexual exploits". So again, are you saying these are made up?
/r/seduction02/09/20 10:35 PM
1

Master marketer... are you implying he made up most of his exploits with respect to the game? If so, what evidence do you have for thinking that? And what is this wrong premise, and what's the 100x more effective one? Asking because I read "the Game" and not "Rules of the Game", I'm just genuinely curious.
/r/seduction02/09/20 10:20 PM

The PUA community gained credibility by taking "getting laid" and turning it into a lifestyle. In a sense, their insights are "battle tested" (depending on the pua, of course). What has this guy done to deserve people reading his book? Looking at "Have an attractive lifestyle" and "stop using filler words" and "show your vulnerable side" and I'm already pretty skeptical.
/r/seduction02/09/20 10:15 PM
1

How is it BS? I know the public consciousness has "caught up" to old PUA routines, so in that respect, the material may be a bit dated. Putting moral issues aside, if your goal is exclusively to get laid, and you're good at adapting old material (by getting the idea behind it and making your own), why wouldn't it be a good resource? The guy went from being a reporter to "the best pickup artist in the world", so clearly he has acquired some useful knowledge.
/r/seduction02/09/20 10:12 PM
3

If you think about it, it's kind of funny what happened to you. Like a story you'll look back on and laugh about. No need to be upset about it, the guy did you both a solid, and surely she has the right to play the field since you weren't even going out.
/r/seduction01/09/20 12:39 AM
1

I said *when this happens* meaning IF the woman picks up on the fact that a guy is interested THEN she has the responsibility to let him know she isn't interested. I also made the correct observation that women on average have good social intuition. I did not say that ALL women have this intuition and therefore it is ALWAYS on them when the friendzone occurs.

Not to pour water on the situation - but how did you both know you were covid -free? Was that communicated?

Ask them out on a date, and if it's still not clear enough go for the kiss near the end of the date.

Women often know when a guy has ambitions of a romantic relationship, like I said they have a strong social intuition. The guy may even make some very indirect advances. When this happens they have a responsibility to confront the issue and make their (lack of) feelings known, so they don't keep stringing the guy along. They don't owe them romance, but they do owe them the courtesy of letting them know they don't have a shot. To leave them in limbo is a bit cruel.

Wanting to be in a relationship and not wanting to be friends are technically separate things. If a guy wants a relationship but the girl doesn't, it's possible both would be ok being friends. If the guy specifically says he doesn't want to be friends and she still tries to rope him in, I would say that rises to the level of being manipulative.

Lol you made the exact right move and it unnerved her. Happens all the time. Someone breaks up and when the other person moves on immediately they feel self-conscious. They would prefer it if the person still expressed interest and pined after them, better for their ego. In pickup, they say women like having "orbiters", guys who follow them around giving them attention. Sometimes they don't like it when a guy immediately leaves 'orbit'.

They can be manipulative to an extent - they make the guy think she's interested. But only to an extent, because once the guy actually establishes his direct interest and asks for an answer, the game is over.

Wanting to remain friends after a relationship is not 'the friend zone'. The friend zone is when the man never got to the promised land to begin with because he was categorized as 'friendship material' but not 'sex/relationship' material. You clearly made the first cut, but she decided she wasn't interested in a relationship after all. She broke up with you. Didn't friendzone you.

It is the guy's fault. It's his job to establish his interest directly, and escalate the romance. If he did his job he'd never get friendzoned. Passive men get friendzoned.

Friend zone exists mainly when beta males interact with women without directly expressing interest (they don't want to risk rejection and are happy to just be around the women, thinking it will eventually lead somewhere), and the women are happy to oblige them because they like the attention and feel like they don't owe the man any kind of romance. Both sides are kinda at fault. The men for being cowardly and not expressing direct interest and just expecting a romance to form over time by itself…

He wants meaningful connections, he's not trying to get laid. Why would he read Mystery?

Read some self-help books on how to be a good conversationalist - that's ultimately what you're looking for. Build inner game so you're confident and more sociable. Then start striking up conversations with women. Read good literature, have some interesting passions, and you'll have lots of interesting things to talk about.

This is vague. Not only in the terms you're using (are we supposed to have strong priors on what these refer to?), but your explanations as well.

Though pickup is an admittedly shallow enterprise, without it you would have had no reason to go up to this woman and talk to her and get to know her. If she ever found out about this, she would be bummed, because it kind of kills the romantic aspect of you meeting, and she won't feel as special. But for you, pickup is literally the reason that you met her. This is the reality of the situation, there's nothing you can do to change that. So, no use feeling guilty about it, accept it like an adult…

Might be helpful to read up on PUA "theory" regarding attraction. A lot of them are half-baked kinda bro-sciencey things, but some are on the mark. Mystery method is accessible, look for a PDF or video on YT.

Start doing deadlifts. I was a hardgainer myself until I started doing them. Eat enough, use proper form every time, no mistakes or you risk injury. Stick to less than 8 reps a set. Try "5/3/1" (google it) as a system, worked for me.

Lol bro, it's only the third date. You're much more in danger of losing her interest because of your personality than your bedroom skills. Focus on keeping her mentally captivated / stimulated.

Like I said, it's all relative. I'd have to see a normal picture of you standing. If I had to guess, a pot belly does not go well with skinny legs. Get rid of one or the other.
/r/seduction08/08/20 07:31 PM

You can't tell... if your upper body is beefy, they'd be considered too skinny. If your upper body is svelte, they'd match and it would be fine. Anyway, when in doubt, just do some squats / deadlifts. Biking is also great for the calves.

Not necessarily, but you have to pick the optimal haircut given your looks. E.g. given the shape of your head, you might need to shave everything off. Or a short buzz. Grow a beard or goatee. Experiment to see what looks best and go with that. If it's thinning and you don't take care to choose the best "look", that will definitely hurt you.

He is a decent looking, smart guy who has dedicated the better part of his adult life trying to sleep with women. I'd be willing to wager that he's good at doing it.

Confidence. How do you gain confidence if you don't have it? Easiest way is to lift weights, put on 15 lbs of muscle and it's pretty much automatic. Then get some cool clothes, a nice haircut, fix your teeth if they're jankity, get the money up in the bank account, have a decent ride. That's the most straightforward way. There are various 'mental' ways to psych yourself up and to gain some confidence (inner game methods), but I imagine these are much harder to truly internalize. Takes a bit of t…
/r/seduction08/08/20 03:16 AM

So you're using OLD apps I take it? How are you meeting these women prior to the date.
/r/seduction08/08/20 03:03 AM

Focus on the lifting itself, getting stronger, building the appropriate shape - don't worry about getting shredded. The difference between a guy with a six pack and a guy with a solid, muscular frame is negligible, in my view.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
