I don't have an issue with gender-neutral parenting per se, but it seems like every single time I see someone parenting in this way, it's a boy who is supposedly very very interested in dresses and the color pink. I don't think the parents are as neutral as they claim.

Maybe this investigation seems to be taking a long time — but for some sad, backwards reason, it’s a victory that it is taking any time at all. There's nothing sad or backwards about due process. You know who has easy, quick investigations? Lynch mobs. In any case, I don't think it would be too hard to at least get the user ID from Twitter when you have pretty specific death threats.

Because we are living in a society where, earlier this year, an administrator at a major college (Dartmouth) openly said this about students (almost exclusively male) who are merely accused of sex offenses: "Why could we not expel a student based on an allegation?" And I have not heard a single feminist condemn it. Not one. Well, you can't honestly expect them to pay attention to what goes on at some tiny school like Dartmouth!

Most people who identify as feminist I'm sure don't actually do any fighting at all. The ones that do are mostly terrible. Even the ones that aren't calling for the castration of all men still go on about a Patriarchy that doesn't exist in a Western context, using that to fuel arguments that it's OK for men to be disadvantaged.

I don't really see a problem with most of it, but Step 6 asks teachers to inquire when they hear students referencing gender in a binary manner and ask “what makes you say that?” to start a discussion about gender stereotypes. I really don't think that the day needs to be interrupted for a discussion of gender stereotypes. All that's going to do is piss off parents.

It's not a popular opinion, but I've always believed that once something is in the public domain practically, it should be considered so legally. Prosecute the people that improperly used the copyrighted material in the first place for the harm done, and maybe even the people who distributed it while it still wasn't widespread, but once it's there it's there. I feel similarly about these images.

MRAs' increasing relevance online has already created groups of people that refuse to align with either group (and some that identify themselves as both). They call themselves things like Humanist, Egalitarian, Equalists, etc. Those things weren't happening until MRAs really started to show up. For all your worry about polarization, MRA activity has itself created the middle ground that you want to promote. It didn't exist until Feminism was challenged.

I like the idea of getting the moms involved in solving the problem. It's more of a grassroots solution, and it'll last longer because the next time a new mom to the school whispers to another mom "omg did you see that guy wandering around? what a creep!" they're more likely to respond with disgust towards that person. If it's just an administrative decision to avoid a discrimination issue, you don't change the culture.
