I’ve been banned from one sub after a decade on reddit and that was r/MGTOW. All I did was point out it shouldn’t be surprising that there are fairly consistent undertones of anti-semitiam and rascism on the sub given it is a large collection of disenfranchised young men which frequent there and targeting them is a classic gambit of those types. I guess you can act like it’s not happening if you want, mods.

The unrelenting, race-based insecurity on this sub is its worst characteristic. Enough with the Tyrone, Chang, Carlos bullshit already; we’re all men trying to deal with this society.

She gave a terrible presentation with that article. It was like the title credits of a movie had rolled then there was no movie.

Unfortunately the perception of ignorant people in large groups means more than truth in many aspects of life.

This isn’t exactly the most pro-science subreddit either. Lots of anti-medicine or climate change thinking goes on here every day.

This is not MGTOW content. This is woman-hating content. The sub should separate from shit like this on the automatic but too many of you are pointlessly, impotently enraged 24-7 to see there’s nothing useful produced from this.

The anti-science level of this sub is really surprising given the obsession over being so rational as men.

If a woman ever exposes heightism with men calmly explaining you can understand her POV because you find stretchmarks a complete turn-off always seemed like a good way to counter her hypocrisy.

I tend to agree. It would be better to take the uplifting path and reconcile. As men we tend not to allow ourselves to act out of compassion rather than anger because society is more comfortable with us tapping into our anger and we follow that programming (or some shit, I’m not a fucking psychologist). I also know there’s some people in my life I’ve just never been able to forgive. If he’s that kind of person I can’t blame the guy for blowing him off.

Reading it I think the guy only sought the testing because the kid was in foster care due to neglect by the mothers. He might just be a guy trying to do right for a kid.

I really wish both sides would just let some men-only spaces and some women-only spaces exist without complaining about it. There's value for the average person in having somewhere they can be the person they are and not having to consider the rules society has in place for how we act when the opposite sex is around.

How you run your single life is largely going to be dependent on what you enjoy and what you prioritize. There are however some issues common to all single men in society that I'd like to hear more about. I can find the info for much of these in others subs so getting it here isn't a big priority and I think that's why the discussions don't usually go far. But things like establishing POA should you be incapacitated, estate planning, and financial advice can all be covered in this sub along with…

Every subculture that skews even slightly from the norm has a loud minority making their position sound like the Rebels attacking the Death Star in terms of social gravity. In reality, there’s not many people who give a shit. I always assume those folks are young without perspective or old without much cognitive horsepower.

I have to think if there was a swarthy, middle-aged dude in the center flanked by a 30-something woman and 20-something woman that used a similar caption, things wouldn’t be so cool.

I wonder if the problem is young people don’t subscribe to there being a closed door. If you start from birth with social media and society indoctrinates you to use it, maybe you truly believe in being that “public perfect” person 24/7. It’s like Winston volunteering to take his home black screen everywhere and see everything. Pure lunacy to those of us out of the demographic.

Because the people and mods in this sub aren’t special. They’re the same as any other space on reddit: looking to craft a comfy echo chamber. Sooner or later it always happens and in some ways it could be for the best.

It is, but still funny. I’m tall and I’ve helped a lot of old ladies get the milk from the back of the shelf. Most decent people treat people decently because that’s making the world the way we wish it to be. Could be pissing into the wind but I know how great it is to have someone help me when I needed it. I just wanna return it in kind.

I don't give a shit what anyone says if I have a chance to keep someone from seriously injuring themselves by keeping their head from bouncing off the ground I'm going to do it. I like to turn the argument around and ask at what age a woman should be allowed to have agency over her sexuality. These young women are willingly having sex with these older men, why is it her business what those people are attracted to? If anything the college dudes competing with these girls should be bitter. You'd be shocked (or maybe not) at the number of women who use sex as a way of getting better letters of recommendation and/or clinical exposure to get into med school and residency spo…

I second the idea of taking GS courses. You may find male-focused courses you didn't know existed. I took one way back in the mid-90's called Manhood in the US or something like that. Wasn't a hatchet job on the gender but an analysis of how masculinity has been defined over time in the country's history. Also I'd say most of the reason I read this sub is to observe the movement afoot right now. This is one of the places where you can see some aspects of future policy forming.

I'm in med school, slightly older than most of my classmates so I get a kick out of watching how things are. Keep in mind this is med school, we live off of loans and have little money (at this stage) to throw around. There's 3 basic types of men here: the guy that is married with kids for religious reasons, the guy who had a hot girl in college lock him down as soon as she could (and these women are hot and kind without exception), and then there's the field players. First 2 types are boring fo…

I think Dunham is exactly what we should expect this generation's "voice" to be. To quote the great philosopher Switzer she's the type that's "born on third base going through life thinking she hit a triple." These types insulate themselves from the reality of advantage by concocting and/or amplifying tales of woe. She and others like her gather in the echo chamber of modern communication and one of them ends up with a brand, in this case Dunham won it. She is talented. She has the capacity to m…

I guess no one has recollection of the film The Crush with Alicia Silverstone? Same thing more or less but genders are reversed. Of course the guy in that didn't actually fuck the child.

I'm in med school, which is basically a 4-year grind to getting a residency in the field you desire. Part of looking your best at your residency interview is showing your dedication to your field of interest using letters of recommendation from those established within those fields. I know women who have shadowed/rotated within their field of interest and secured letters, and perhaps not coincidentally it was with people they've slept with while shadowing/rotating. That's life as far as I'm conc…

Great point. This is the grounded type of comment that goes below the radar to those that find this subreddit repugnant. When you begin looking at both sides of the gender dynamic you see the shortcomings on both sides. Comments like this help bridge the gap.

I'd present a scenario to women wherein they have unknowingly decided to give birth at a hospital with problems. Two days after bringing baby home the scandal breaks and it is revealed that upwards of 20% (or whatever the cuckold rate is) of babies delivered at that hospital end up going home with the wrong parents. Would she then be so recalcitrant to maternity testing in order to assure herself the child in her home is hers?

It also doesn't augur positively on the patience needed to raise children. The type that strikes out in anger without purposefulness makes for a poor parent.
