I'm describing my relationship with them. I know you don't have the same experience as me or we would agree. I told my story explaining why I feel the way I do and all you're telling me is that I need to change to accomodate the police. No way, they need to earn my respect back and that might not happen, and that's okay. Tell me again how I'm wrong to feel the way I do after the experiences I have. I'm sure that this time it'll take.

Yes you're trying to hold me literally to account when it's clear I'm speaking about how it feels. I know that isn't their literal job. Some are and some aren’t friends with police, it takes 2 to make a friendship. I'm not interested in a friendship if the friend is abusive.

Because for a lot of people this simply isn't true. the cops job is just to handle you based on how they view you violating the law at that time. For a lot of people cops are there to intimidate them, to harass them and to bully them. When I was in Winnipeg cops would pickup native women, drive them into the country and leave them there, in the middle of winter unless those women would provide sexual favors. Sometimes even when they did. When I lived in Toronto police had an official policy call…

People don't deserve assault. Maybe you'll figure this out on your own but I gotta tell you. You don't resolve situations through violence, and with very few exceptions the person who starts the violence is almost always wrong.

Rape culture is people thinking someone deserves, or earned their rape. Obviously these people are in prison because they're bad, and they're bad so they deserve rape. That woman is a slut so she deserves to be raped. This is perfectly consistent with rape culture, downplaying the assault on the victim, and making the rape their fault.
