There are plenty of non-combat rolls in the military, that's true, but we don't institute a draft because we are short on volunteers for those positions. We have a draft when we are short on men to fight and risk their lives in combat. Women, with limited exception, are not suited for combat. There is no necessity or strategic benefit to conscripting women for the United States.

I understand the logic in this argument, but I feel like this is the point where idealism meets reality. Feminism and Pacifism intersect here to create a false dichotomy of just terrible choices. There are very good reasons why we have a draft and why that draft is made up of men. This is exactly why idealism is bullshit when it is not applied with a healthy dose of realism.

You are correct, I can't just make that decision. I am being a little overly argumentative. My point was simply, if you put the mental image in someone's head it is unfair to be upset with how they interpret it. I think we are two reasonable people, and here we are, we've come to two different logical conclusions. Our discussion is focused on wether or not to be offended for another person.

I get it. But, the guy describes his boxer shorts far more clearly than his anger or anything else in the story for that matter. Flip the sexes and I would still say we are talking about someone who is trying to draw attention to their underwater. Would people flip out and claim the story teller is being unfairly sexualized? Probably. They would be wrong then too.
