I'm with you 100%. People typically prefer lighter skin. That said, stressing about that won't help. If the OP believes his race is a disadvantage, he should work hard to oercome that disadvantage by expanding his social circle and improving his confidence to the point where he isn't worried about how people perceive his race.

Yes, both guys and girls typically (not all) prefer lighter skin. There will be racist girls out there who won't date a black guy, but I guarantee that isn't someone you'd want to be dating anyway. I think I understand. So essentially, "if there is a girl I am attracted to I should approach her because that is what I want to do. I would like for it to end in sex but if it doesn't that is okay because at least I approached her like I initially wanted to." That more or less what you are saying?

Appreciate the advice! I wish there was a way to "perfect" having conversations but it looks like that is impossible since it takes input from both parties
