I am not even in the ballpark to play that game right now. I am about 75% thinking that this thing is over, and that I will have to incorporate lessons on a restart years from now.

I am at a very pivotal moment, where my family, which includes two small children, is on the verge of collapse. I have posted in MRP, askMRP, and even the relationships sub a few times in the last week. Suffice to say, they universally thought I was an asshole in the relationships sub, though a few people were insightful. I found MRP a couple of months ago because I was having severe issues with my wife, and could not find a context anywhere to understand them. It was a watershed moment that the…

I have very severe cognitive dissonance at this time. I understand that this process takes time, but I am in a mental holding pattern, because I literally do not have the faculty to determine if this is working in the long run, or if I need to get out. I have boatloads of anger, and have removed myself from the relationship. I am staying in the hosue because I am nursing my dog who is recovering from ACL surgery last week, and I am rehoming him this Saturday. I have no other reason to still be t…

A lot of this hits home for me. Im struggling to get to a place where I never lose my cool, but my wife behaves similarly to yours, acting like a complete child, and upping the aggression until she gets me to lose my shit. I've made so much progress, but I still have a lapse, and when I do, Im playing a losing game for like a week trying to recapture frame. She feels empowered by my slip. She is also similarly selfish in bed, though the frequency of our sex is good. This week I've been sleeping …

What i would like to read, almost enough to write it, is an analysis of the shifting gender dynamics in disney movies Sleeping beauty had the girl cursed that she would prock her finger on a spinning wheel before her 13th birthday and a drop of blood would fall and shed fall asleep until true loves kiss. I take this as an alleghory for a female having a menstrual cycle (the blood at age 13), then not being able to find individuation and flourishment until prince charming comes and brides her. Ve…

Well the point isolated is unproveable but it is lended weight by being part of a trend. My wife watches Big Little Lies on HBO and Im irritated that the portrayals of bad men are all extremely bad with no redeeming qualities, and the women who are victims are all flawless human beings - yet the context is often a situation that in real life would have two sides, mitigating circumstances, and no innocent parties. That is why it is such perfect propaganda. Its like if they did a show based on mic…

Good post, but two points. (1) If you are talking hard value, what is that? assets? Education? Social connections? I would be irritated with someone who made more, was better connected, and better educated than me. (2) I like that you describe so many things as baseline, supportive, rational, fomestic... but frankly these things are not baseline. Give me somebody who is a good human being, with habits that elevate them beyond compulsive hypergamy, deception, aggression, and blind self interest, …

I think OPs first rape point still holds. Even though you are correct that it was hard rape, the soft concept of no female agency can still be extrapolated. The point is that viewers will not distinguish.

Im seeing both sides of yours and TXH's view, and frankly teetering between them myself. I don't think my whole post describes how much an asshole I myself can be, and really demonstrating assertiveness and kindness at the same time as a challenge I totally identify with. What username is getting at is very much resounding with me. As I stated in the OP, stoicism has been very effective at first, but now is no longer working as well, and a large part of that is because my wife has gotten over my…

honestly, im so jaded in regard to women in general now. I don't know if I can look at them in a prism that is not extremely cynical so all this talk of slaying hoes is exhausting

and the harder part is the kids of course and knowing that once I pull the trigger, then im probably going to enter into the most painful 3-5 months of my life before all is said and done.

she does a lot to care for the baby. shes the one up when he cries at night, every night. she does the laundry and vacuums. shes not worthless, but yes, she is on her rump watching the kardashians and chatting on facebook while I am still bringing the hosue to my satisfaction.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
