Sorry for replying so late. Basically, while I appreciate the praise I receive, sometimes it makes me feel like that's all the impression I give, and that I'm not that interesting enough. I'm pretty sure it's all in my head so I don't try to behave based on that assumption and take those comments for what they are.

Yeah that's what I've been thinking as well. I don't have any reason to be perceived as a threat but at the same time I don't want to feel like I'm being challenged or disqualified by them when there are girls around. Specially because I'm minding my own business.

I am one of those that believes you need to achieve a certain level of trust and getting to know the other person (a.k.a. friendship) before moving into a romantic relationship. Don't get me wrong, I've been friendzoned before and also rejected because of this way of thinking, but that's the way I see it.
