First off, I'm grinding my way through dread levels and am in now way one of the veterans here. A few point however stand out to me. I don't see the the valuable, attractive man that you should be in order to generate desire. You plan to squat 100 kg, which is intermediate level lifting. How physically attractive are you? You plan to work out three times a week. How many times do you success. Three times is a bare minimum. You get angry after you talk with your wife in bed and sleep badly. There…

I found the book 'Money Master the Game' by Tony Robbins excellent in understanding investments. He comes to the same conclusion as you do ( but needs 300 pages).

I'm happy using YNAB, haven't tried Mint. I input all expenses manually to get a feel of what is going out. I think it really helped to get a better sense of where I was spending money. It has a nice graph, where it will sum up your total net worth. Seeing a line going up to being debt free is motivating. I think the price for the app will pay itself back in the insight you gain and the savings you make because of this.

I found Dave Ramsey's approach to debt simplistic, but therefore very practical. Start paying off your smallest debts first and then go on to the bigger ones. This way you only have to focus on one debt and have a momentum, instead of diverting attention to multiple debts and going nowhere

Wow, can't imagine me on IF for years. For now IF isn't the rave I hear about. My energy is generally lower when I'm fasting. I'll keep giving it a shot and see how it keeps feeling for me in the long run.

I started IF a week ago. I had done this before, without a lot of weight loss. I do this 5 days a week and eat normally with the family in the weekends. We eat normal lean foods. I'm doing IF now for a cut, but will probably stop this as I reach a better day percentage. I can keep my weight stable on a normal diet. Do you use IF year round? Or intermittently like me?

Focus on career is important, it matters what your vision in life is and how you achieve your goals. Having fun might also be a goal. For me it is. I can be a hardworking plow horse, but it doesn't make me more fun to be around. So I made it a separate goal to have more fun. Thats why I have zero regrets when I'm away for an extended time. Looks like a great trip tbh!

Goals for this week - (a) work out three solid workouts in the iron paradise; (b) 4 minutes of HIIT and one long cardio walk/jog; c) stretch every day for one minute; (d) begin tracking calories and efforts daily through my fitness pal app. I think you there is room for more cardio/exercise beside attacking your diet. What helped me a lot was besides tracking my diet, was also tracking my exercise in Google Fit/fitnesstracker. I was alarmed how sedentary my lifestyle was. So now I aim at 10000+ …

This is going to sound gay and new-agey, but I'm much more at peace now as I focus on being present. I don't think this is gay or New-Agey. I think Mindfullness is really a masculine trait. Being present in the moment and not being distracted by millions of thoughts (hamstering). I see a parallel here with Stoicism. Being stoic means seeing the world around you as it is and not overreacting to it.

Thanks for helping me clarify this issue for me. As I see it now there are two sides to this story. Firstly there is the experience of Sex. And secondly there is the response to Sex. I had these two piled together. I need Sex, I like Sex, I even belief that it can be a transcendent experience between two people. I put quite a high value on the experience of sex. On the other hand Sex (or lack there of) should not be a validating metric and I was putting too much value here. And you all were righ…

I know this because I have had these EXACT same thoughts. At times, obsessively. These are victim narratives and you need to stop them. Like they held me back, they are holding you back. Good response, thanks. Also a good response from /u/man_in_the_world and he provided a good link. I recognize the validation aspect of the sexual interactions now. I am now wondering in what way I can expect an enthusiastic response and not be validatiting? Or is it a total blue pill idea that an enthusiastic re…

Stop trying to negotiate respect and submission to your leadership. You can't; people don't work that way. Simply command respect through frame and OYS, and lead. Good points and I liked your link. It's amazing how much I still have to learn and unlearn. If not for this forum, I would not have a chance to learn this stuff. When you and the others point this shit out, only then does it become apparent to me. Hardest for me now is to be truly only concerned with myself and not my wife (or anybody else). Stuff like this confronts me with a lifetime of learned people pleasing.

Don't be too exclusively hot/cold. Find something quick and fun to do and invite the wife along with you, remember to keep things sexual and initiate initiate initiate. If you get shot down, stay cheerful and go do something else. It's important to find a balance that keeps her feeling wanted but not needed. Will have to see about that. Her shitty behavior is now almost 24/7. Not a lot of room to reward good behavior. I will try to make a better effort in rinse and repeat. Let's see how she will…

Fuck your hamster is strong I'm slooowly learning this. Not a nice mental image to have this said about yourself, but its honest. In my life no-one would call me out on this. If your first instinct is to think about your wife or your kids in any given situation you are fucked and can't be the man they need you to be So I would have to keep my Mental Point of Origin even in issues concerning my kids. Fair enough, had not considered that.

Good link to the Dancing Monkey contract. You're right, my frame is not solid enough. It's a good prompt to keep my foot on the pedal and not start slacking. Enough work to do here. After posting I thought about the covert contract and the difference I saw compared to a normal reward system. It did not post an advice for others, nor did I lay out my path to here. In short my advice would be; 'read the sidebar'. The longer version would be: Challenge your paradigms and see RP as a new reality: Read all books bij Rollo. See the world in this new light. Start building yourself up again: Read (and do the exercises!) from Athol Kay and NMMNG. Lift. STFU. Acta Non Verba. Say goodbye to your old self and build a new persona. I can relate to the stress. I had high blood pressure when in a stressful unfulfilling job. I think it's the continuous, little, creeping stress that raises blooodpressure. These were my figures two weeks ago (I'll update in OYS tomorrow): Squat 220 lbs/102,5kg; OH Press 100 lbs/44,5kg; Deadlift 220 lbs/95 kg; Bench 140 lbs/62,5 kg deloading to 50 kg; Row 160 lbs/72,5 kg. So, I am somewhere in between. I am purposefully deloading on squat now to improve form. I was not going parallel. I squated 97,5 kg today with better form.

No covert contract here. I would really hate to make some dieting mistake and lose months in progress. The eyball tests however is acurate enough I think as I'm reading up on diet and have yet to find some big mistakes.

I'm a big fan of 'measuring is knowing'. I track my weight, my food, my miles, my income, etc. Now with training and gaining muscle I am not sure wether changes in weight reflect a problem or progress

I started lifting some 3 months ago and am doing the SL 5x5 program. This was the first time I did compound exercises. Before this I usually did cardio (running, stairmaster) and those machines you see in the gym. I started with some nice progress, some noob-mistakes in form and counting weights. So let’s say that after a month I was getting the hang of it. The second month I still saw progress, albeit with failed reps getting more frequent. Lately I’ve deloaded on about all my lifts and have lo…

I’m about six months in and have made some nice progress. I like a challenge and this seems like an excellent opportunity to step out of my comfort zone. My only worries are that this will compete with my usual goals taken from OYS. Fitness. Hopefully I will find a way to break through some glass ceiling I’m feeling with the SL 5x5 program. I looked up the Ice Cream Fitness on the DoD thread, which seems to be perfect right now. I like that I can continue with SL 5x5, but also get some direction…

I'm reading Awaken the Giant Within and will do the exercises as I come across them. I found this very helpful with NMMNG the second time I read it and actually did the exercises. There is a big difference between fast reading an exercise and actually sitting down and reflecting upon it. I'm not aware of one of his programs, beside the big conventions, which don't come around much on my side of the pond (and probably find to expensive).

Timely post for me, as I also face this dilemma of cutting vs bulking. I am now trying an hybrid approach where I use IF 16/8 same as you. Actually IF 16/8 + 2:5 as I eat breakfast during weekends. I was struggling with the Stronglifts lately, which started allready before my fasting. What seems to make a difference is increasing my protein intake. This is not easy to do. I should get 175 grams a day, which I rarely reach. Close enough is what I am aiming for right now. This weekend I felt much …

How to determine SMV? There is a large majority that I find less attractive then my SO. It's inaccurate and relative, but she is my 7.5. It's probably the same as choosing a car. Before you even knew of this model, you wouldn't even notice it in the carpark. But after you went to some dealers, checked reviews and made the decision to buy, suddenly it became the best car you ever owned :-)

Good points and thanks for the confirmation Fogging, as you mentioned, is very effective here. Why is it only temporarily successful? Is it because you let her emotions and mood affect your own? This, in the most simple way, is lack of frame. Work on that. It's lack of frame and am working on this. It sounds like you should be tracking her cycle. It certainly is a big factor. I think ego protection was necessary as child (in a psychanalytic sense), later as an adolescent the ego protection prevented me from living my true self for fear of rejection. Now I am coming to grips with my hidden flaws and covert contracts from the Nice Guy Syndrome. I think both are essentially the same.

My assumption is that women are distributed equally across the SMP ( a better term would be normally distributed I think) The graph would depict this in a bell's curve, with lots off average (5-6) women, some really ugly ones and topmodels on the other hand. In an equal distribution there as many 1's, 2's etc, thats why I think a normal distribution would have been a better term. As these women select their men preferably above their SMP their selection would make another normal/bell curve distr…

I understand that. Probably little value for Alpha Fux here. But in an equally distributed field, where the women select men through the female imparitive I would expect a normal distribution of beta bucks. This would be on both the low and high side of the SMP. I can't explain the seemingly high SMP Beta Buck's. Well, just a hypothetical musing on my part here

I noticed some strange phenomen on OYS, where most guys seem to make 100k or more. On would expect a mean income of 60000. You're technically right. I was vague on purpose because of the doxing guidelines. I was referring to the Judeo-Christian culture we both share. But to more specific I am Dutch, which has the most similarities with the Scandinavian countries. As such, and in a RP context, it is very strong in feminist values. I expect this angle was the reason for your question about culture? And no, I haven't spent time in the States. Would like to do that sometime though.
