I have a buddy in Albany, NY that went to a job interview not too long ago for a job opening at a gym. He claims he never heard of this gym before, but somehow he knew where it was. Anyway, let's just say, it was a male-only gym(wink* wink*). He didn't take the job.

They're like a Starburst! Lol I side with Men's Rights but I don't feel like getting into all the reasons why and all that. But I do believe women should be equal to men, AND vice versa. No special treatment. If you're a grown capable adult, then laws and treatment should be the same for you and everybody else, no matter gender, race, religion, whatever. So I love me some women. But I don't love unfair standards and judgements (GASP) maybe I'm a Starburst???

As a man, I find this offensive. How dare she compare human women to toddlers and dogs. Human women are not helpless. We grown-ups buckle toddlers in because they cannot/will not do it for themselves and we don't want anything happening to them. I complained about my childs grade school automatically using female pronouns even though boys, in fact, go to school also! I suggested they should at least use gender-neutral terms, and I was basically told to go screw myself and that I was making a big deal out of nothing. 1) I didn't make a big deal, it was only something I kept noticing and made a suggestion. 2) Boys go to school also, so why is everything a "you go GIRL!" mentality? and 3) It wasn't just women, men were scolding me also.

I can second this. I just say I'm a dad. The women at school usually ask me of in married or with the mother cause I don't have a ring and I just say I'm a dad. Hopefully I'll be able to discretely voice my concerns away from any child's ears by asking to talk down the hall or something. But as of right now, class is virtual, so i don't have to worry about this for the time being. But I fully intend to mention the language being used to address the students in a message the next time this happens. Lol Thanks for the advice.

That's some sound advice. I don't know why I haven't thought of this before. It makes sense. Acknowledge things right away. At least by doing that, the other parties can't act like they don't know what I'm talking about, because I'll let them know exactly what I'm talking about when it happens. It'll be fresh. I have mentioned this to two separate teachers and a security guard before the pandemic, but I don't know if it just fell on deaf ears, or if it's been taken into consideration and now we're looking at a "slow-burn" situation where maybe one teacher at a time will start to "get" the message. Puerto Rican guy here. A childhood friend of mine (white guy) committed suicide a few years ago. Thinking about it till this day still *breaks* me up. It breaks my heart that anybody feels like they should commit suicide. The fact that more white guys are committing suicide is a tragedy. Death is not race based. We need to figure out why this is happening. We need to address this issue. If you are still thinking about "race" when death is involved, then you have mental issues.
