I remember vividly an incident years ago my marketing teacher talked about the "slim pickings" in terms of dating in our small community. In a class of roughly 8 girls and 5 boys, every girl grinned while nodding in agreement without any hesitation and us guys just glared at each other like we had just been voted off of the island. I guess my point is that before we even got out into the world to experience it for ourselves, the girls were already casually shitting on us for no reason. I think p…

I'm sure I could get the same effect by being an asshole with a chip on my shoulder to women on any electronic dating medium, cataloging their series of low grade insults, and showing it to the internet. Also, where is the difficulty in just blocking him once you realize the guy is an idiot? Men are still the initiators, and minus the obvious trolls these guys are just doing what works. The kind of women that will sleep with them are apparently the kind of women who respond to their poor spellin…

Rape is a terrible crime and should be taken seriously. The problem with groups who deal with rape is that they try to educate women about who's to blame. What really needs to be done is teaching women that a rapist can be anyone regardless of gender, that "educating" a very small population of men who are possibly mentally ill / criminally insane or are in danger of becoming drunk enough to force themselves onto you is negligent at best, and that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.…

If anything, a simple search showed that the overwhelming majority of content here is not actionable things. AKA every online community ever. Is this conversation productive at all? Thought so. To a lot of people, this is a place to vent their frustrations or ask for advice. They also come here to raise awareness which does not count as an Action Ops but they can bestow knowledge and ignite passions. Anyone can post anything as long as it conforms to the rules. It's also a lot easier to make a t…

If you can't tell the difference between valid concerns and concern trolling Except they aren't valid because you can immediately discredit them by doing a search. "Tone it down a notch, we shouldn't criticize feminists, you guys aren't doing enough, I'm not comfortable with such things". Valid this conversation is a waste of time You beat me to it.

(Examples: divorce court, child custody, child support) I'm interested to see what content you put forth in the future. Women can take care of themselves and have the option of being independent nowadays. I thought she was living the dream? I kinda feel bad for her because everyone around her is constantly giving her the wrong information. Your youth is fleeting, and men won't wait around for you to decide you're ready. This is exactly what women of the past feared and grandmothers had to constantly drill into their granddaughters heads so they didn't end up as some crazy hag in poverty that no man would ever eve…

That seemed weird to me to have a random topless chick in a newspaper so good on them. Also, I would have to agree with her other point. Men's magazines tend to cherish the female form in it's many shapes and sizes. Women's magazines are undoubtedly the biggest offenders as far as shaming goes.

A St. Paul father has been charged with gross misdemeanor child endangerment after police say they found five unsecure guns in his home. Police say they found five long-barreled guns belonging to Wright. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Wright told police he and his wife had been arguing but denied weapons were involved. Arrested for unsecured firearms and he is the owner (of the firearms). It had nothing to do with the argument.

She's just another clickbait agitator. I like how they try to buff the women's numbers exclusively, saying there are thousands who don't report it as if there wasn't a deep rooted shame in males coming forward and confessing that they're being beaten by their wives or girlfriends. Violence is a process, not an action that only men are capable of. Just look at how violent nature is.

They should have done more to protect the women, really? To me it's the same shit as asking what the women were doing out of the kitchen in the first place. He is just citing gender roles to publicly shame the men when what he should be saying is that no person involved in doing what came naturally and saving their own skin is deserving of an award for bravery.

I never understood why religious people had to do their missionary work with religious requirements, rather than perks. If there is some part of this program that grants something that is an absolute necessity like food, water or shelter and they are denying that to boys who won't sit through some seminar on gender equality, that would be absolutely abhorrent. Agreed. It would be an act of violence. However, I don't think that's the issue that the other people in this thread see with this progra…

Last autumn, at a meeting with senior officers from the Metropolitan Police, I was told that more than 2,000 "rapes" and "serious sexual offenses" had already been reported in London for 2014. One of the officers present said he believed that only a fifth of rapes are actually reported to the police; Wow, those are some hard numbers she has there. It is about the many thousands of victims who don’t get justice at all - and the main effect of giving anonymity to accused men would be to make that …

It's a Disney/Pixar film so it's about broad appeal and peer reviewed attempts at humor that doesn't offend anyone. It's a movie I will not be watching for obvious reasons outside of the buffoon dad / supermom dynamic but I don't think this is anything malicious it's just catering to acceptable stereotypes. My guess is that they know it's a mom/kids movie and that dad will probably be skipping out if they even have a father at this point.

There needs to be more of these kinds of videos. It looks professional and the information is easy to understand and delicate. Your everyday person will not absorb anything from a huge wall of text but they will watch a video with moving graphics and absorb at least some of it.

Yea the interview was entirely centered on his thoughts of the game after she congratulated him and his family though. She did say his wife's name but I think she was congratulating them for sharing the win as a spectacle and not as a fruit of effort because the following interview was picking the coaches mind on what is heavily implied as the fruits of his teams hard work and dedication. I think where we disagree is what is being implied by the reporter when she said congratulations to anyone b…

Well is she a fan? I guess that would be contextual. It wouldn't make sense to congratulate someone who cheered for and supported the team that lost. With all due respect, I think the one attributing all the blood and sweat involved in the training and performance to the simple act of congratulating a fan who happens to be a wife of the coach of the winning team is you. You got it backwards. A parent supports their child in their activities and they are congratulated on their child's performance. Similarly this mans wife supports him and family and is congratulated. How is this an injustice against men?

No, just speak up against it. Fair enough. I think context matters though. Did the video glorify her behavior or was she depicted as psychotic with all the crying, bitch fits, attitude and a "long list of ex lovers who think she's insane". I guess the real question is do we want to police the sub or let people say what's really on their mind? In my opinion, positive thinking will not make the problems go away. This leads me to another point of contention I have: The use of the word feminist. I feel like, in this sub, it's a curse word. Their vile sentiments AKA being right which include disparaging comments about women’s shelters and victim blaming survivors of rape – are completely incongruent with our values at White Ribbon. No sources take my word for it. Good points. The crux of contemporary feminism (especially forum feminists) lies with beliefs influenced by feelings surrounding the experiences of individual women, either themselves or someone they know, not so much statistical accuracy and incentives (wage gap, rape statistics, campus policies being wildly innacurate to name a few). This was a fair interview. She let him say his piece at least. My response: How can exclusion be good? Turning away men at the door at a festival because you think men are going to rape or assault is sexism. Sexism in the form of a festival that is a protest to sexism? Cut it out. I'm sure excluding potential audience members is good for their careers as well? It is the principle, but it goes right over their heads. This happens every day. It's not feminism in general (although it's all you hear about at least on this sub due to the trend of silencing dissent on feminist subs), it's the mods of the feminist subs. You got banned because you disagree with the accepted narrative of those subs, which is "Women are frail, don't fuck with us." I agree. I would argue that the real problem isn't in Feminism. Feminism is just a collection of ideas, it is a way of looking at the world. The real problem is endemic inside of all of us to varying degrees. We have this instinctual urge to externalize evil and claim moral superiority, losing sight of it's residence within each of us. You could argue that all institutions and movements are about power and self perpetuation. It's important to recognize our own fallibility, that it resides in all…

She should serve the same amount of time under the same conditions. At least she has a reason to be there.. not even close to the hell I'm sure he went through.

I read it. It's very short but packs a lot of information. She doesn't sugar coat a lot of it which was convenient. Victor Zen also made his own video review here. Just a few good points real briefly. She turns the "Manchildren" argument around as "Men being rational". I can agree on this point for the most part, that marriage doesn't have the same appeal and that it's a decision based on a risk assessment. I also agree that there are just way more distracting forms of entertainment these days t…

The emotional appeal..i-it..it's just too strong.. I can't believe I read the whole thing. Thanks for screencapping the clickbait. Summarized: "Back to mall headquarters sisters! These ones weren't born with the gift!"

Although I don't agree with using tax payer money to fund services that exclude the male homeless population, here is some context from their website. So the government required these shelters under new policy to compete for funding. They give most of the money to the "big four" religious charities who are now the main non-government providers of homeless services. The table scraps are given to a couple dozen other "specialized" shelters to compete over which is no where near enough to maintain …

Just keep reading, don't be eager to take offence because there are trolls and creeps with derailing tactics everywhere you go. Also, there may be insightful counter arguments by others that make you challange your own outlooks. If something irks you, join the discussion. I've seen multiple posts that were just plain outrageous, and I see them called out for it every time.

Another thing...why didn't they just put a women undercover instead of the 4 hour make-over Supposed to be an eye opener for the guy to what women experience. It actually caused controversy because they were making it out to seem like it wasn't an issue until a man experienced it, hence a womens problems were dismissable. I would pay money to have this done in the States. Fedoras fumbling to hold the door for m'lady and not make eye contact, trying to smile but trying not to make it creepy. He f…

1 Being an Ally is About Listening As McKenzie puts it, “Shut up and listen.” It's number 1!!! How did I know? 2 Stop Thinking of ‘Ally’ as a Noun Being an ally isn’t a status. If thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought. -Orwell 3 ‘Ally’ is Not a Self-Proclaimed Identity What about lunatic? Also, stop thinking of deranged as an advective. 4 Allies Don’t Take Breaks ...if you truly want to act in solidarity, you cannot simply retreat into your privilege when you just don’t wa…

Careful not to fall for it. Buzzfeed == clickbait Guarantee more MRA's read this slanted stuff than their intended audience does. The least we can do is not fund their lust for furthering an agenda.

Whether by accident or flight or flight mode, male ends up hurting female while defending himself from her attack. Go figure, right? A woman loses her shit and hits a man, and everyone expects tolerant non-aggressive calming rituals out of him to ease her down off the ledge. Meanwhile, a small weak man strikes a big man and everyone has their camera phones out going, "Look at this dumbass get his ass beat."

It was a repost of an article written years ago but I doubt the authors views have changed unless he was falsely accused of rape or something. Heavily in the dark on many issues, and the normal descension into patriarchy to explain away boys problems as usual.

Eh, this conversations as a whole is removed from the bigger problem of rape culture being statistically invalid. They have reason to be upset if indeed what they claim is true. However, you're essentially standing idly by while they throw more "evidence" into an ideology that says not only are all women affected, but all men are responsible and should carry the psychological baggage accordingly. I can see how it's easy to become engaged but I can think of better ways to waste time. :P

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
