Yes, some laws seem unreasonable at times but most of them are there to limit stupidity. If no fine was involved with jaywalking, literally everyone would do what you did but there is a chance that one guy out of 200 completely forgets it's a street for cars and not humans, gets hit or something and endangers his life and others.

There are rules everywhere, but people don't follow rules everywhere. The same goes with the Sharia, not everyone follows them correctly. Many also try to abuse certain rules for their own benefit, which just obviously wrong. Most people take the rules that suit them and ignore the others that restrain them.
