They need feminism because different political opinions are scary. Freedom of speech? What's that?

You sound like a very decent person, and I sincerely hope everything works out well for you and your son. Is there any hope for her other two children?

Feminism in general tends to construe any attempt to teach women to avoid situations in which rape is possible as victim blaming. These include not getting blind drunk, staying in a group, not walking alone in a dangerous area late at night, etc. Perfectly reasonable things that any sane person should do to avoid violence anyway. The feminist line of thinking is, "I should be able to walk at X time in Y place blind drunk and wearing Z and not worry about being raped." That's a nice goal, but the…

There should be no shaming here.

Was going to say this. Feminism is interested PRIMARILY in women's issues, obviously.

Sure, a white guy would have it all right in any time. Let me hop into the old time machine and get pressed into service for the British Navy in the eighteenth century, work as a serf on a lord's plantation in medieval feudal France, be captured as a slave by Vikings or Berbers in the Dark Ages, be forced to fight in the Crusades, get spit on after coming home from Vietnam, etc., etc. Did I miss anything?

This is an extremely important issue for men, so thank you for bringing it up. If there is one stereotype I really cannot stomach it is that men are uncontrollable sexual animals who are always "up for it." Luckily I have a girlfriend who can handle a "no, not tonight," but I hate that there are men out there who are shamed for it.

This. I even had trouble talking about this to a very close male friend. I wish there weren't such a stigma about it.

That's one of the worst, yeah. I weep for anyone who actually dates the thoughtless churl who wrote this.

My reactions to each number: Awww. Isn't that what everyone wants? That's sweet. I do that. I'll hold your hand whenever I want, but whatever. Okay, I'll just change my personality to fit the situation as you see fit. Fuck you. You're just vain. You want someone you love to feel jealousy, a decidedly negative and hurtful emotion? What's wrong with you? I wait an hour to see my doctor for a minute. Can't say I'd extend you that courtesy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
