No, but I would take a pill that would decrease my sex drive by 80% in a heart beat.

Ok, cool! Interesting to know. Thanks for sharing!

What about emotional closeness with another individual? Do aromantics receive this from their familial (parents, siblings) or friendship groups?

What does the term "aromantic" mean exactly? I know it's different from aseuality, but in what ways? Does it mean not really caring about the couple-y "lovey-dovey" stuff? What about emotional closeness with another individual? Do aromantics receive this from their familial (parents, siblings) or friendship groups?

I was wondering what does "aromantic" mean, exactly? I know it's different from asexual. Does "aromantic" mean that you don't really care about "lovey-dovey" stuff? What about emotional connection with another individual? Does the term "aromantic" encompasses this as well?

Well said.

Yep. Exactly.

Dating can negatively affect your self esteem, even dating apps where you are not really rejected in a similar sense. Speed dating, however... Getting rejected by so many women and seeing with your own eyes in person what is actually happening. That is not only a straight up humiliation ritual, but I can also see that being a nail in the coffin to a man's self esteem. And this, my friend, is why average and below average guys should just go MGTOW and be done with dating in the West. Generally sp…

Cool! :) Sent a pm. Thanks!

Thanks for the answer. Do you mind if I PM you with a few additional questions? They would be related to things like short-term dating, finances, weather. Few topics could be somewhat private, hence me asking about PMing instead of asking here.

Congrats! Are you currently residing in South East Asia, by any chance?

Well said. Men do most of the laborious infrastructure and other difficult maintenance jobs as well as pay more in taxes while women tend to work easier jobs, work less hours and receive more in benefits. Hoe_math has made a good video explaining this. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/d4gjQTGgCJE For men it would be smartest just to become minimalists and go MGTOW.

Exactly. The unfortunate truth is that men want women more than women want men, ceteris paribus. We, men, might not like it, but it's the truth. It's best to pursue our own things in life and de-centre women just the way they have de-centred us. Apart from online discussions for intellectual curiosity, it's time to leave women alone and find our personal Pax et Tranquilitas elsewhere. It's over.

Wonderful description. The fact of the matter is that since women no longer "need" men, their "want" does not cover a lot of the male desire for women, thus creating excess and lopsided dating market.

That could indeed happen. The Online Dating business model would possibly also collapse.

In this day and age, below average (and, in some cases, average I would say) men really should consider at least trying to eliminate their sex drive. This could potentially bring them much more peace in their lives. We will see if it works. I truly genuinely hope it does without too many of side effects. If 5-HTP doesn't work, I will try out Ashwagandha, Lion's Mane and L-Theanine. If guys tried this successfully en masse, it would definitely make things much more even between men and women in t…

I agree that online dating is ineffective for guys, that's why it has been several months since I did this the last time. It is unlikely that I will try again any time soon. Being ghosted and just ignored is bad for my self-esteem. And, no, I have not been sending personalised messages (with about a dozen exceptions) because the ladies' profiles were empty 90-95% of the time, and it was quite difficult to find anything worthy of mentioning/asking about while looking at the girls' pictures. This …

IRL: 0 Online Dating: I initiated contact to maybe 100s of women, but received few replies and did not have an opportunity to ask them out to meet in person.

Yep. I'm not saying that it's IMPOSSIBLE to get a GF or a wife, but it's all about the effort-to-reward ratio. Women require a LOT, and one of the main reasons (albeit, admittedly, not the only one) why men give women what they require is sex. If you eliminate male sex drive, the dating market becomes much more even not only after 35+, but also during the women's prime years of 18-30, which would lead to less male thirst and desperation. It would be much easier for guys to just say "fuck it" and…

I think it's a simple fact that, generally speaking, men have significantly higher sex drives and more of a need of variety (which results in lower standards) than women. This, combined with women's relatively calmer sex drive and higher standards, results in a scarcity for guys, especially young guys. I agree with you in regards to controlling sex drive being the ultimate equaliser between this attraction inequality between men and women (I truly believe that men want women more than women want…

u/DenverKim u/Proudvow DenverKim's original comment: "Well, from a woman’s perspective, most of us aren’t willing to date someone who will not be a good partner. So a lot of women have literally zero options as well. It’s like telling someone who is dying from dehydration that they should be grateful for a glass of water filled with rat poison or dog shit. “At least you have an option.” I would also like to point out how casually DenverKim equates men who, according her, "will not be a good part…

The simple fact of the matter is that making money in this scene (matchmaking, online dating, etc.) is not that feasible long-term for the simple fact that the average woman does not want the average man. The ladies tend to be far more picky and particular in their requirements, while men tend to be far more flexible. This creates distortion of the market, and not that many couplings take place. Aaron Clarey has made a great video about this (albeit, he talked more about online dating, hough): h…

Yep. This is a very good assessment of what an "ick" truly is. Hoe_math has a good video where he essentially shares a very similar assessment as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETxO50fuPac&ab_channel=hoe_math In other words, women (including those liberal women who are espousing "equality" and "progressivism") want men to follow our gender roles and be traditionally masculine, but want to be released from their gender roles and be able to do whatever they want without judgement. How wonde…

If you were a man, you would either have to man-up and face self-esteem destroying rejection, or you would risk being a forever-alone. 🙂
