It always upsets me that its so rarely mentioned. Women's day is always this big thing at work, but men's day is never mentioned. It would just be nice to be acknowledged.

I partially agree with you. Which is why genuine compliments are the best. Compliment people on things they've chosen to do. Like their shirt, or shoes, or hat, or earrings, whatever. Compliments like "I like your eye color" feel very boring and ingenuine. Also, if you can't find something you actually like about someone, just don't compliment. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. What I've determined is that women are more likely to give each other compliments than men. I propose we start complimenting and supporting each other. Everyone is beautiful in different ways, we just don't get told we are. So all of you, I challenge you to go compliment other people. It will make you feel good too.

The company I work for has a group dedicated to increasing the number of women in STEM, run by the head of HR... I've spoken to female colleagues about it and they think it's stupid. They don't think that they had any barriers going into STEM (they're all late 20's) and they said that these groups weren't doing anything. It really seems like the people pushing that we need more women in STEM are the ones that are NOT in STEM by their own choice.
