True, but the record shows that most expressions evolved from reasonable circumstances that are accurately described by those expressions. Women exercised plenty of political power prior to receiving the right to vote, so it was not an unfair or cruel misuse of power to keep them disenfranchised. "Rights" are nearly always misconstrued as natural or universal rights, and the fact is that much of the time we're talking about privileges, not rights.
