Sounds more like a hypnosis/NLP technique. By stating "you should not fuck me", you are telling the conscious mind there is no threat. But the unconscious mind still imagines the action (you can't not imagine a blue elephant), and because it's not blocked, it generates emotions. Emotions get backward-rationalized (hamstered), so now she accepts your advances. Take this from my very limited understanding of NLP.

Yes, that made me think for a moment. But, as some other posters pointed out above, it's not just some act of generosity or unselfishness on her part. Hah. I used to hate people shaming me for being fat. But whenever I tried to do something about it, my family would come out and do everything to stop me. Any change I made, no matter how small, got a huge resistance. They were skinny/normal, except my mother. Now - 20 yrs later - they are all obese. I'm ok, but could've been a lot better without their "help".

Yep, you do. I just started it, but it's going in the right way. I have the audiobook version. The main focus of the book is not abuse in the regular sense. It talks about abuse, but also about issues we don't consider abuse. It's neglect, emotional neglect. Something that we don't know it's missing from our lives, because ... it's missing. We never got it in the first place. That last line is there to make everybody read the book, not just us, recovering MIBs.
