Yeah this is why I’ve carefully curated my feed and blocked the majority of male-dominated subreddits. Men on Reddit are cumbrains.

Women are taught to see the best in men, men are taught to see the worst in women. We’re taught to see ourselves in men, men are literally taught to objectify and degrade us. These are generalisations, of course, but they’re largely true across all of society, and they are why you will hear much more about women staying with horrible, abusive, toxic men than the other way around. Most men will dump a woman for a minor inconvenience, women tend to stay with men through thick and thin.

You made a great choice - the thing about neglect/abuse in relationships is that they don’t start off overt. There’s a reason why so many women stay with abusive men - they idealise the first few months of the relationship, and when the 🚩start, they’re too blinded with love and idealisation to notice. At best, this man did not care about your explicitly stated needs and boundaries, and thought himself great for giving you a cookie basket (???). At worst, he purposely did this to “test” how much …

The notion that paying 50/50 = equality, and women asking for men to do the bare minimum = gold-digger, is a perfect encapsulation of how the bar for men is in the 100th layer of hell. I’m genuinely asking, what benefit is there for women to date men when the vast majority of them expect you to pay 50% of all the bills, do 95% of the household chores (cooking, cleaning, child-rearing) and 95% of the emotional labour in a relationship? I have never heard of a man in a hetero relationship doing ha…

Your ex husbands sounds like trash, I’m sorry to hear that. When we talk about “compromise” in a relationship, 99.9% of men think that “compromise” means “woman sacrificing her own ideals /dreams/ desires for me.” Compromise IS important in a relationship, but women should never ever compromise on things that are important to them, because when do men ever compromise on anything significant?? Men will give you an inch and tell you it’s a mile. Women will give men an inch and men will use that to…

If I could give you an award for this post, I would. It’s disturbing the amount of lies and misinformation girls and women are fed about rape and sexual assault. The majority of rapes of women are committed by husbands, boyfriends, uncles, cousins, family, friends, doctors, surgeons, even ambulance workers….men that women trusted. But no, we’re taught to think of rape as some incredibly unlikely phenomenon, when the truth is that a man can rape one day and donate to charity the next.

My first “boyfriend”, and I say “boyfriend” because he wasn’t a real partner, but an emotionally abusive leech who tried his best to suck me dry, was literally the amalgamation of ALL the stereotypes these terrible “men” try to force women to accept. He was fat to the point of obesity, ugly, a gAmEr, and oh did I mention terribly insecure? He constantly told me that I was his “dream girl”, “out of his league”, fulfilling his “fantasies”, “not like other girls”, you name it, he labelled me it. He…
