I think when you say it it's more of a "I'm not playing around." and less of a "I don't approach because I'm afraid" which is what I think the article was implying.

As long as you have a good answer to questions like "if you can't drink, why are you here?" : "To meet new people and let loose some steam" or "I like hanging out with my friends, and don't need to drink to have a good time. They wouldn't be very good friends, otherwise, would they?" I've never had someone judge me for not drinking (that I know of) but I'm a very care-free and outgoing guy so it's usually really obvious why I'm out at a bar. (Also, I'm pretty sure you'd have sold your comment as…

Some girls would be suspicious, but most will just be impressed that you can be yourself while 100% sober. If you are buying them drinks, and none for yourself, it may seem sketchy, but you can always get water or something else for yourself. Also, you can get two of your favorite non-alcoholic drink and don't mention that it's non-alcoholic. Watch how little alcohol actually has to do with it.

I think guys tend to understand what they want more than girls. Not in every case, but generally speaking. Therefore when we give advice it's more in-tune to our actual wants.

Also, after eye contact and less thinking, offering a hand is one of the best ways to get from dancing to dancing together.

I really appreciate this post. It sums up every action I knew I should take, but am never certain of. (normally don't post like this, but an upvote alone was not enough.) Cheers!

I was in a similar boat previously, and was extremely shy. One thing that helped me a ton was not caring about what people think of me (easier said than done). And since you're focusing on your appearance so much; I'd say start there. Even if you're a "10" not every guy is going to find you attractive, but who cares? Also: I think it's by far easier to open in a non-bar scene. What guy doesn't like being hit on while he's in line for a smoothie?

Just want to say: Ladies, it works both ways. Everything in that post mentioned works the other way around (I think we're even easier though)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
