To be honest, most Pastors in America now are bi-vocational. You can do both. IT and Pastoring. Most churches in America are fewer than 100 people and one of them may be blessed by a bi-vocational pastor.

The words mean what they meant at the time of authorship. Yes, language evolves, but it doesn't evolve that fast. We have good reason to trust that our understanding of the various words for love are good and accurate. I believe God chose to have the Biblical authors write in Greek. Jesus may have taught in Aramaic, but his Father had them recorded in Greek. Both the unknowable Aramaic audio and Greek writing stand as the word of God. The Bible was not written in a vacuum. It was divinely inspir…

Greek words for love are unreliable as a basis for most of Scriptural interpretation. It may be relevant to a few of the epistles that were originally written in Greek, but Jesus was not preaching to a Greek audience, nor did he speak in Greek. We'd be better off looking to the Hebrew, whose language would have been familiar and whose culture was dominant among those Jesus ministered to, or to the Aramaic, which was the language Jesus most likely actually used when saying many of these words (al…

You’ll have to create a culture where their wisdom, experience and training is appreciated and valued. This sub trashes pastors and churches left and right. It's full of arrogance. You’ll likely have to provide them recognition, flair perhaps.

Thanks for the clarification. I did have misunderstandings about your post. I’m still troubled by your simplistic thinking and find your derogatory comments about seminary trained Pastors arrogant and offensive. I know well the limitations of seminary, I have attended two. I know that Pastors aren’t all knowing. But come on... I’m all for exploring Red Pill thinking in light of our faith, but I’m struggling with you as the primary mod. We need other voices here. Not my own. I’m not interested. P…

I’m sorry... as a seminary student, minister, and evangelist... this doesn’t hold water. Frankly, it generates a different kind of guilt.

Ugh. Not wild at heart. So much garbage in there that’s neither red pill or sound Christian.

Don’t marry her dude or at least don’t do a big wedding. Sounds like this chick doesn’t care about a wedding — so if you’re going to screw up your life at least save yourself the hassle of a wedding.
