If you think religious nut bags are stopping here you are incredibly naive. Well, good luck to our southerly neighbours. The toilet’s just been flushed and now you start to swirl around the bowl…

Hubris vs. Ignorance is a good way to put it

On the left it’s the bigotry of low expectations and paternalism. On the right, it’s just open hatred at the most extreme, but usually the bigotry of ignorance learned over generations.

I got my sex education in the late 80s and early 90’s so condoms don’t bother me. I already have all the kids I’m likely to have, so I’m also cool with a vasectomy. I don’t have birth control requirements for my partners other than that they use some form

Resug and vasel gel are sitting right there….not profitable would be my guess as to why they don’t go forward (or maybe some trials are still under way in Asia?)

Okay, I read some of your edits and your position makes more sense. Yeah if a dude is asking for step-by-step “see fig. 2, insert tab a into a lot b” instructions I can see how that would not be fun and enjoyable sex. But If you want a guy to learn and experiment on his own initiative, I hope you’re giving him a chance to get it wrong. If you need a specific position, angle and pressure, while a 12-piece string orchestra plays Spice Girls covers to get the O, then you’re going to need to help a …

This seems like a good way to be continually disappointed. Why set yourself up for sex you don’t like? For what, some point of pride or sense of superiority? Why get upset at all these men when you won’t help yourself?

These programs are vastly underfunded. I focus more on youth development, the thinking being that learned early it will be carried into adulthood. It’s a sad state if we have to be teaching adults basic social skills in a grand scale - short of legitimate developmental issues

It’s doesn’t have to be provided for in a literal or direct sense. Mental health funding, sponsoring youth organizations like YMCA or Boys and Girls clubs, summer camps, youth sports and other things that bring young people together, so they have opportunities to interact and learn how to talk to each other and things that encourage growth and self confidence. Do they even do school dances anymore?

That woman is clearly insane and no one but the similarly afflicted would think she is any authority. It’s not signalling it’s drumming up controversy to sell a magazine. Peterson’s take was r-worded. No one is holding a gun to his head demanding he find her attractive, it’s just a magazine, and not even an influential one. I got a lot of the typical advice: be nice, respect women, kind, gentle, be their friend, “some day…”. I also was explicitly told not to be like my father, directly and indirectly. My dad was absent or drunk for most of my life, my uncles never gave a shit about me, nor did my moms second husband, so I was raised by women and only heard negative things said about men. I wanted to be nothing like them, be the good boy, do all the right things and maybe they (family, women, I dunno) would think I …

That’s not what Voltaire means. Will is urges or thoughts. You have the will to eat. Why? Because you were hungry. You didn’t just will yourself to eat, there was an underlying reason, and that reason is often not rational or conscious. Whether you will it or not, you will feel hunger and the urge to eat. Whether you choose to eat or not is up to you, but let’s not pretend the actions we take are driven by pure will and complete control over that willfulness
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 09:08 PM
11

I don’t think free will exists. Like Voltaire said, “there is no will without reason” but we have the choice to act or not.

“Entire objective”? No, and I made it a point to say it’s not all “muh biology”. It’s a major factor, but like most things there is no single silver bullet. The urge is just…there. like I can remember sexual thoughts at age 4 or 5, getting an erection from a specific image in a Mad magazine in the grocery checkout. I didn’t consciously know what was going on, all I knew was “I like it and I want it”

A salmon will kill himself swimming up a river just to nut on some eggs and die. I don’t want to say it’s all “muh biology” but why pretend we aren’t animals? We are.

They often come out on top at the expense of others. The more “on top” the higher the stack of people they’ve stood on. Good people that rise to high levels of power do so despite being good people, rarely because they are good. The rare ones that do get assassinated anyway.

Bad boy traits: high self esteem/arrogance low agreeableness high risk taking socially disruptive, bucks social norms low respect for authority high self-centered, low empathy (doesn’t consider others) high Machiavellian tendencies In short the bad boy does what he wants, doesn’t consider others, doesn’t care who he hurts and makes it a point of pride to transgress society’s rules.

I have a 12 year old son. This is a weird take. I can’t control whether my kid is going to be happy or not on an existential basis and have this be a reason to not have kids. “Like what if he didn’t want to exist?” How the fuck am I going to know? You don’t have kids to have a mini version of you that you can puppet through life. And you definitely won’t know with any kind of certainty that they’ll will have a smooth trouble free life such as to deny them their existence

Why not? It would put more direct power in the hands of voters and ensure we get the representation we deserve in parliament. No more back room boys clubs deciding which of the PMs close friends get appointments (looking at you Seamus Oreagan), the actual ability for parties to push through or negotiate for things like the end of the Indian Act (we could have an actual First Nations peoples party and they could have real power in a coalition/minority government). I expected, calculated guess from observations and experience, to be more moderated satisfaction, “somewhat satisfied”. However, if we take the 17-19% and add it to the 25% that are not having any sex, it’s not an insignificant number. High satisfaction, high dissatisfaction (again, I am assuming the 25% having no sex are not satisfied, a small number might be) and not much in the middle…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 10:31 PM

I’m not interested in continuing if this is going to just descended into snark Okay, so some data I dig up does suggest high satisfaction with most couples, somewhere between 64 and 42% depending on marital status. 17-19% unhappy. There we go. I didn’t expect it to be that high in the highly satisfied and up categories. so I’m willing to admit I am wrong on that point.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 10:07 PM

OP addresses that argument in his post. Struggling in his definition does not mean just a binary sex/no sex dichotomy, so clearly OPs argument takes contentment/satisfaction into account. And by the way, I never said complete satisfaction or sex as I want when I want. That’s all you. I specifically said contentment, satisfaction and feelings of success, all reasonable expectations.

Your two examples are really at the extreme ends of the poles. Those guys might exist, they’re very rare and…well I just don’t get how a guy who’s having frequent sex doesn’t like how he’s getting it - does he have a heroin addiction he’s prostituting himself to afford? Who is this guy? I’m not going to dwell on that, as I said, they’re at the extreme ends of the poles. Again, I agree this isn’t an issue men face alone, but the main OP was about men and that’s how I am addressing the post. And a…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 06:56 PM
1

No I agree with you. I was mostly referring to sexual/relationship success and satisfaction, as I believed that’s how OP was framing it, not over all life satisfaction.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 06:30 PM
5

If that’s your argument, that many women who get into relationships still don’t feel satisfied or content or accomplished or successful or whatever other synonyms we’re using to mean “good” I am inclined to agree with you. Not the subject here. I am challenging the notion that having sex once a year is on the same level of success as a guy who does daily or even weekly, and believe that a guy who can only have sex once a year is considered struggling
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 06:16 PM
0

So you think a guy having sex once year will feel successful? He won’t feel like he is struggling? Trying to understand your point.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 06:10 PM
4

But that doesn’t measure satisfaction or contentment, just frequency, right? So a guy who’s having sex daily is grouped with the guy who had sex once all year, but they will have different satisfaction. Same with the stats showing most men get into relationships. Okay, but how happy/satisfied are they in the relationship?

It’s basic playground rules we all learned when I was a boy, before the internet: “talk shit, get hit” Now it’s talk shit, get famous. People forgot that in real life they don’t have anonymity, distance and a screen to hide behind. So they feel safe acting and saying what ever they want, no matter how provocative. “It’s just a prank, bro!” Famous last words. Someone walks up to random black guy and starts calling him the n word and how he is going to rape his wife and kids. Any reasonable person…

They’ve never had to fend for themselves or work for their needs/survival. They’ve never paid their own rent or groceries even. Contracts have termination and dissolution clauses all the time, divorce is no different. When there are harsh penalties, human behaviour is to manage the contract to avoid the penalty and assign all the blame to external forces and other parties. They seldom work towards upholding the spirit of the contract. It becomes all risk management. At fault divorce hurts men more than women. If you think baseless accusations of abuse and terror are frequent now, wait until that’s the only way to get out…

You’ve got the story wrong, and it’s doubtful that it’s a factual story anyway. Sun Tsu is highly likely to be a composite of multiple people, like Lao Tsu. It was the two commanders that were executed in accordance with military law at the time, for refusing orders. Not the entire harem. They were treated equally to that of male commanders refusing orders. The story is used to illustrate his peerless ability as a general to be able to effectively train even concubines ti be formidable foes, but…

Your status and wealth is a part of who you are, like it or not, and as a man it is better to use your advantages and assets. Its almost necessary to display them. This goes beyond sexual relations. It’s how they are displayed that makes the difference. A gaudy or ostentatious display will draw the wrong people. Subtle markers will signal who you are to the “right” people (tribe, class, sub culture, whatever) and help you find each other.

It’s a no-win: the guy either should have tried being her friend first, but always just wanted sex. Or he should have been up front that he wanted an relationship and this only ever wanted sex. In no case is it accepted that a man wanted to be her friend or he wanted to build an intimate relationship (which naturally would have included physical intimacy). My recent thoughts on a similar question of tattoos I would find questionable/disqualifiers: …this from the perspective of getting into a relationship, that shit matters: badly done or cheap, “meme” tats - something that quickly ran through its 15 minutes of fame (how many people regret moustache tats on their finger, or tribal arm bands), any tit tattoos or getting your pubic mound done, anything on the face or hands. 11-14 is when I started getting the wrong attention from adults as well. At that age you are old enough to be robbed or beaten up for your stuff or chased by older kids in a car. Three guys put a gun in my face when I was 13. It wasn’t sexual, “just” violence. I’m not trying to compete about who has it better, but calling attention to young men/boys and the predations by adults and older young men, I still felt just as scared, anxious and helpless, we have a similar experience at around the same…

/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/22 07:48 PM

Like I have said elsewhere, there is value in the basic comparisons of experiences, and it’s a bit like software testing: wherein you analyze your results of positive, negatives, false-negative, and false-positive results. Helps you eliminate factors and get down to the root cause of the issue, especially when you have access to a radically different test bed and test cases you may have never considered
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/22 07:47 PM
1

It’s a bit like software testing: sometimes you have to try some negative tests and false-positive and false-negatives, and it’s good to have some vastly different experiences to compare it to. Even two hetero dudes don’t have the same approach and experience, is it still useless to share?

It doesn’t have to be the same. “Compare notes” doesn’t mean it has to be the same. I can’t believe so many of you guys think there is absolutely nothing to be learned from lesbian dating experiences. Surely if it’s not the same, but you are both running into the same barriers, then it’s not something you are both doing that’s not working, right? One simple example.

Mostly agree. A lot of guys look like shit. However, your style won’t be universal, some women will like it and it will improve your attractiveness, but just as many will not and it will work against you. Also, most women don’t want their men upstaging them when it comes to style, they want to be the better looking and more stylish. Or if they don’t care about their style, expect you to match and not exceed that. It can be a delicate line to walk

The following would lead me to believe you are an impulsive idiot, and if this from the perspective of getting into a relationship, that shit matters: badly done or cheap, “meme” tats - something that quickly ran through its 15 minutes of fame (how many people regret moustache tats on their finger, or tribal arm bands), any tit tattoos or getting your pubic mound done, anything on the face or hands. To answer your question: no, ultimately not happy I will challenge your assumption that they (we?) are not winners in other aspects of life. Not true. There are lots of guys that are successful in other or even every other field except romance. You just don’t see them because they’re not vocal, they’re not on certain forums seething, they just keep that shit to themselves. You can be a good all-around person with manageable flaws and still not have that “it” factor that women find attractive.

As long as (the editorial) you hold your self to the same level of expectations meant for me, and I’m not taken for granted or unappreciated for maintaining (hopefully exceeding) those standards, then there is nothing to be angry about. The anger comes from the sense of entitlement many but not all women seem to have. Can you meet your own standard? If not why do you think you deserve someone who does? If they make no signs of helping themselves and try to drag you down with them, then sure that’s reasonable. And that’s where valuing yourself comes in. You’re a thoughtful reasonable guy, so I don’t mean “you” specifically. The growing spread of this sort of narcissism is extremely distasteful to me, seeing people primarily as a resource to use, and that’s not a healthy relationship.

It’s the reality, doesn’t mean I have to like it or behave that way, especially not when it comes to personal intimate relationships like friendships or lovers. /r/PurplePillDebate25/03/22 01:42 PM

I’m coming to hate this word “value” and talking about LV and HV categories of people….it just means how exploitable you are, how much can the evaluator strip-mine you of. Your value is for yourself. Yes, men and women can be friends without romantic/sexual attraction - or you can still think your friend is cute but not want to bang for lots of reasons. Women value marriage differently, and I think a lot of the value is for women interacting with other women, it matters more within the various strati of women’s intra-gender relationships. Oh, poor people don’t know shit about that, it’s not like they have their own lawyer in retainer, you know? A lot of working class people swear to a kind of “salt of the earth” code of conduct, if you give your word you keep it, humility, the typical British-Protestant descended work ethic. I’m not trying to give the guy a pass, he’s certainly naive, but I don’t think it’s so out of place in the world of working class folk

Seems Americans have some major challenges in this area. Good points to consider. My own sons birth was a bit of an emergency, he was a vacuum birth and understood that had he been born In the US I’d be looking at another $25 grand minimum. As it was we had a private room in a good hospital with a reputable birthing unit and between government health care and some private insurance with my employer paid nothing, and really all my private insurance paid was the cost to upgrade the room.

No, but that’s largely where I hear the reluctance around child birth coming from - but okay, I’m not tapped in to the zeitgeist in rural Mississippi. I’m willing to be wrong and admit as much that these are half formed thoughts. So, getting a bit of a hostile tone and it’s not my intention to battle or contradict you. I said I wondered if…that’s why I asked the question. Didn’t seem to reconcile, but apparently the numbers are far worse than I realized for women across the board. I had figured the numbers were very skewed towards rural poor black women in southern states.

That’s why I’m asking the question. Again, not an American, my country has good healthcare for all (it’s not a perfect system and needs its own fixes, no system is..) and I get there are particular issues in the US. I am reluctant to agree that it is drastically impacting birth rates for middle class and up college educated women who seem to voice the most apprehension about child birth. Please correct me where I am wrong

Surely a large portion of that is skewed by certain geographic, socio-economic and racial demographics, no? I’d bet the obesity numbers go hand in hand with the rise in deaths. I’m not an American 🤷🏻‍♂️

Economic mostly (affordable housing and childcare, wage growth stagnation) and also preference. I do wonder if there is a concerted effort to “scare” women away from childbirth. Modern medicine has made it safer than ever yet there seems to be a rising fear that women are going to die giving birth, or that children will doom your life for ever. It’s never been safer than now to have kids and women have more choice than ever how to raise them, so that’s where the question comes from

Not sure why being agreeable would override other traits, maybe for some people and then yes I see your point, for someone who couldn’t say no to anything is certainly over the edge but I mean… we’re not reducing this to the extreme cases are we? Oh okay, so I thought it was more like if my wife asks me to do something that’s a bit of a personal inconvenience but I do it anyway…or it could be bigger, like supporting her going back for higher education or something. Okay, okay, I’ll walk back the part where I said women want this drama. Some do, some don’t like any other people. The women I would want relationships with are those who are are mutually cooperative, capable adults who are able to compromise and all that good stuff. I’m not looking for strife, I’m lazy at heart and would like nothing more to share life’s labours for mutual comfort
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/22 12:46 AM

I expect she is an adult who knows herself and knows what she needs to do in her own life. I don’t criticize, I don’t “call out” my partner. Really…I grew in a shitty household with a lot of arguing and verbal abuse, I really really am not trying to recreate that. /r/PurplePillDebate09/03/22 12:41 AM

This is what I mean. What gives you or any other person the authority to hold me accountable - especially when I’ve done nothing to be held to account for? I hold my self to a far higher standard than anyone else, I am my own worst critic and enemy. “It is I who knows what I must do”
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/22 12:33 AM
2

It’s a struggle to have day to day control over my own life, I don’t have the time or energy or want to control someone else’s. The whole purpose of partnering up is to share the load, work to commonly beneficial goals. If I can accept that some men are lazy pieces of derelict shit, can you accept that when a man says he just wants cooperation he just wants cooperation?

Because, I would have demonstrated time and again that I am trustworthy and of my word. Would we be in an LTR otherwise if there wasn’t that trust there? I think not. Yeah, my position on these is that prostitution is going g to happen if it’s illegal or not, so it causes less harm (and saves tax payers money) to legalize and regulate. I would say the same for opiates, legalize and regulate so we can get fent out of here, save people’s lives and reduce the strain on public health services, reduce crime, etc. Criminalizing mental health and poverty doesn’t work, doesn’t make it go away

A common approach to legalizing sex work is to criminalizing the buying while legalizing the selling. Some countries in Europe, namely Sweden do this, and it was proposed in my country, Canada as well. It’s a fairly common though not universal feminist opinion. I don’t think this approach actually helps sex workers though, it drives the trade underground and makes it less safe. status varies and what’s important to one woman is not going to be to another, it’s relative. A custom fit suit, nice leather shoes and slick haircut might boost you up with some and take you down with others, especially if she’s expecting a beard, tattoos and a black band t shirt

Even with the surgery I don’t think it’s going to be a universal attractant such that it’s going to move the needle significantly. Men should prioritize money/status maxing over looks maxing, because more money makes the looks part easier: you can afford better clothes, food, healthcare, etc. Individual women will vary, for some status and wealth increase the attractiveness, and for other women it decreases. Its not male model chads is my point. Any male models I’ve know actually lead boring lives: can’t drink because trying to look shredded for the next shoot, can’t stay out late because they don’t want their face looking puffy and need their rest, they don’t actually make that much money so they’re on tight budgets…one of the ones I bought weed from had all these side hustles because modelling didn’t pay shit

Promoters, event organizers, DJs; these guys aren’t facially attractive by default. Add low future time orientation, low disgust threshold, low inhibition, high risk tolerance and a bag of coke and watch the N Counts soar. I’ve seen it with my own eyes lots of times. They’re not the most attractive or tallest but they flirt with anything that moves, create a fun atmosphere where ever they go and will absolutely dumpster dive or fuck girls you’d never consider to get that notch.

There is so much muddying of waters and “oh so you are saying…” straw manning around this. Simply put: a lot of men end up more attractive in their 30’s compared to who they were in their 20’s. It’s not 40 year olds being more attractive than the average twenty something but directly compared to the person they themselves used to be. I grew into my face, got my diet and exercise right, increased my status, increased my experience with women and earned more money by my early 30’s and would absolu…

It’s all about your personal attitude to sex. If you think sex is something that a woman gives to a man and thus diminishes in value over time, you care about n count. If you don’t, you don’t. Yes, because social media and OLD apps need women to join, men are easy to get, just bring the women abs they will follow. So, a weight question is a pretty good way to alienate the very people you’re trying to attract to your app

My son just started middle school this year, he walks home with and hangs out with a mixed group of kids, half girls half boys, so I would say he is on his way. He’s got no problem letting people know he thinks they’re an idiot (we had a bit of an incident where he got into it with one of his teachers because he thought the work he was being given was too easy and he can be a smart-ass) so I am fine he’ll do fine with girls

It’s easy for a guy not to know where he stands. I was mocked relentlessly for my facial features. It’s like Greg Giraldo said of Joan Rivers, “you look like Steve Tyler fucked a life raft”…so anyway, I obviously developed a complex about it and thought I was unattractive for pretty much my entire life. Turns out some women really like how I look and find me attractive. Who knew? Not me, they certainly don’t tell you if they do because in 43 years I’ve only heard it from one romantically-interes…

Of course male intra-competition exists, I’d argue it’s the basis for male relationships. When you’re a kid it’s who is the fastest, who is the strongest, best athlete, and typically the best athlete is the most popular. it’s not looks based

Is this the same as a mortgage broker? Typically a mortgage broker is independent and works for you to secure the best rates and terms from various lenders the broker has a relationship with. The lender pays the broker a percentage, not the borrower, so it is in the brokers best interest to get the best term possible for their clients, the borrower. I have used a mortgage broker several times and my guy always beats the rates on the street, even the employee rates I get as a Bank employee.

I think age is a big factor. When I was 13-20 I would follow around any girl that was nice to me like a puppy dog and would assume interest. With strike out after strike out, calibrating my “league” as it were, you learn that almost all women have no interest. Then you start missing opportunities assuming no women are interested. I know I have.

Totally. I feel the same about other groups who may not fit into normal society. Like, what the fuck are you bitching about a wheel chair access ramp for? Drag it up the stairs you lazy fuck! Even the trans people I am friends with are binary, so non binary is just statistically insignificant to make a difference. I don’t consider them at all and don’t treat them differently from anybody else. Sorry, I don’t think “in gender”, like I don’t consider this activity makes me feel like a man/masculine and that activity makes me feel like a woman/feminine. Historically though, Russia and China have never gotten along (and China has never defeated an external enemy, and have had many costly civil wars…) so any alliance will be shaky. Chinese military philosophy has an old saying, “borrow a sword to make your kill” so I am sure China is happy to let Russia do the heavy work, they want to make money and war with the US destroys all that

Partially. the reset won’t be a single one-time event but rather like Rome it will be a slow slide into dissolution that most won’t even notice is happening. It’s not by stroke of luck for instance that most warfare in the last few years is in lands with scarcity and dwindling food and water resources. The tribal and ethnic nature of these conflicts are the result, not the cause. I also don’t align completely to your diagnosis, it’s so much less about women vs. men or race, it’s about the haves …

We’re turning back into a type of feudalism, those who own property and the mass who don’t and are kept on the precipice of total ruin so that they lack the ability to revolt. The last of the veneer of democracy lacquered over top is flaking away, your vote matters less and less as it’s focussed group down to the few key battle grounds that actually matter. 30% of the half of us that even bother to vote hold the rest hostage for the sake of our own gluttony and avarice, sweeping the last crumbs …

Seemed you were suggesting guys pick good wives based on cooking and cleaning, so I guess I should have said “if she has a horrible personality…” not that she would by default. To me, a woman who can cook and clean but is insufferable isn’t a good wife, and I would expect most men wouldn’t use this as the sole criteria of what a good wife is. Functional adults, men and women, should know how to cook and clean and should be able to look after themselves

The public at large we interact with everyday is unvetted. OLD users opt into the service, they choose who they swipe on, who they message, who they exchange photos with and who they meet. I can think of nothing more “vetted”, all these gates where the user gets to choose to go forward or completely banish the other person to the void of being blocked. /r/PurplePillDebate25/01/22 10:37 PM

I intentionally used the words intense connection for their ambiguity because it doesn’t mean only sex. It means both people recognize “there is something more there” they hit it off instantly, they planned only a coffee date but ended up talking until 4 in the morning at a 24 hour all day breakfast diner, and so on. Or maybe they did fuck instantly. So what? You want to talk “what about prefrontal cortex” but then treat it like an on-off switch and not a ongoing and continual process of judgeme…

Is it so weird to want to have sex with people you really like and want to be around and want to have in your life? Why would I spend time and resources pursuing/wooing someone I didn’t like or respect?

You’re in the UK right? Didn’t I read a bunch of stuff a few years ago where cps and the police were sitting on evidence exonerating a bunch of sex assault cases. And there was that weird one where the game of thrones actress was touched with like a totally random dudes backpack and she accused him of full out fingering her for 30 seconds. And it wound its way through court when any person with eyes would have seen its bullshit in two seconds if they watched the security cam video. Yeah these ar…

I was carded at the liquor store in my late 30’s several times. But, yeah, I see that I’m starting to catch up. Still have all my hair at least If you look after your self, not too much sun, don’t smoke, and have a good diet and maintained your exercise regime over the years, it can be done. It’s effort though, no mistake
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/22 07:00 PM

Taller side of average, if that make sense. I don’t think my height is all that beneficial, but at the same time I don’t think it hurts either.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/22 06:57 PM

Baby face might have a longer time horizon and pay off in the end, when everyone looks like shit in their 50’s you won’t. Ugly isn’t so bad because usually there are at least a small niche of women who will find it really attractive (my experience at least). Short is the worst, even though some women say they don’t mind, they are outnumbered by women who want a tall man and at least as tall as themselves. And some women just downright hate them (Am 5’11”, and a baby faced ugly duckling who grew …

/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/22 01:48 PM
1

My fellow employees get the same number of sick days, so if someone wants to use all of theirs in the first month of the year, that’s on them. They can use their vacation days or not get paid if they get sick or have a “real” emergency later. It’s not my business why they’re taking a day off. It’s theirs to use. Maybe they have an embarrassing medical issue they don’t want their coworkers to know about. Management should staff adequately as well. People will get sick and will miss work, surprise…

80/20 as in “80% of men are having zero sex”? No, I don’t believe that. Is it 20% of guys get 80% of the casual sex, hmm I’d say it’s pretty close, but 20% guy isn’t necessarily chiseled jaw hunter eyes dude, he’s the guy with the drugs and/or is a party-club scene insider (DJ, promoter, etc) and is a complete social animal and dumpster diver, too That said, there’s a lot of decent to good lucking dudes out there. You say look at the WalMart aisles, what about the gym, or the construction site?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/22 05:03 PM

It’s a bit of selection bias though. Those guys are the ones being vocal and blaming external forces. You don’t know how many are just pointing all that hate inward and calling themselves a cunt, that doesn’t make the niceguys sub hot 100 It’s like, but what about all the dogs that don’t bite! yeah, I get it, but the vocal ones are likely the minority

I’m not familiar with tax law around gifts and tips in the US but seems like a good way to underreport income. I would like them to accept that fame comes with downsides and consequences, accurately report their income and pay their taxes. I don’t have a problem with OF, I also don’t visit or subscribe. I think it’s just part of growing up for teens and young women with less sexual maturity. Women here will have to correct me, but from what I’ve observed from my younger sister and friends. Cannon fodder is very time and region dependent, as you say. Conscripted armies weren’t all that common and volunteer citizen militias go back to Ancient Greece. I think disease is the more likely culprit. Let’s look at the British Invasion of Haiti in 1793, they lost 10,000 men. But not to combat, to yellow fever and alcohol poisoning; mosquitoes and bad batches of rum.

No, the average person did not live to 25-35. The numbers are that way because of infant mortality and spread of diseases. There are lots and lots of records of people living full lives into there 60’s and 70’s from the start of recorded history.

Men as providers is just the way it is. I’ve got mixed feelings about it I guess, both positive and negative. Why would the guy in this scenario leave? Because it’s not his kid, and he finds out at birth before any investment in the child starts, and so “daddy” didn’t abandon anyone, daddy was never there in the first place except to conceive. The mother can go to her child’s real father for support. You simply don’t get a chest like his doing nothing, otherwise he’d look more like Robert Plant with his shirt off, or like the Axl pic you posted And yeah, people didn’t go to the gym like they do today, but I think people were way more active in the 70’s and 80’s than now. Less sedentary, better food, more p…

I dunno, Diamond Dave had his moment in the sun, recall he was pretty popular with women. Iggy also had defined pecs and lats, so it’s wasn’t only the heroin. Anyway…I get your point. Anything that stinks of vanity in a man and too try hard is a turn off.

Axl was doing a shit ton of drugs, but he’s got the cum gutters I know women like, and you can see his abs somewhat, he’s got some definition. Yeah they aren’t washboard abs (which I think I is what you are arguing women don’t care about), but he’s not far off. I’m sure it’s the typical goldilocks thing women have: not too much, not too little, has to be juuuust right Also, just to be a pedant, David Lee Roth had abs (the video for Panama for instance). Too many good ones. I actually just re-watched The Longest Day, Full Metal Jacket and Gods and Generals the other day. Favourite is The Deer Hunter, which to me is more about the ethics of combat, “One shot” as it were: Nick: I don't think about one shot that much anymore, Mike. Michael: You have to think about one shot. One shot is what it's all about. A deer's gotta be taken with one shot.

Victory lies in preparing the battlefield. This isn’t exclusive to interacting with women, it’s good for business, networking and ensuring you always get good service at your favourite places. I always have a few bars or restaurants where I’m a known regular, I make sure to tip well and be friendly and familiar with the staff and other regulars, even better if it’s the owner. Men should cook at home. All the time? Nah, but a lot of the time, shouldn’t be a rare occasion. My Wife commutes for work while I am still working out of my home office, so I do end making a lot of the evening meals. A starter wife’s problem is not getting the right man, it’s keeping the right man. Since the idea for her here is that she is, to put it a bit vulgarly, “buying in at a low share price” hoping to ride it to fabled heights, and if she expects a man to chase her and prove his investment, then she cannot rest on her laurels and expect to ride his coat tails, while he then also does the heavy romantic lifting. She will have to put an equal amount of enthusiasm and investment back in, she must do her…

Agree. Cooking is a dirty, hot, sometimes dangerous, demanding, thankless job so of course it’s a man’s job. every restaurant I’ve worked (disclaimer age 15 to 23) the kitchen was almost all men. Many places I worked had unspoken rules that women worked the front house and men the back. It didn’t pay the bills but I learned a fuck of a lot about life, hard work, organization, time management and how to cook. Oh, and I partied a lot because that’s what restaurant people do so I had a lot of fun.

Reasons 5-3 are just dumb and can be completely disregarded. Men have a “hero gets the girl fantasy”? Women have the same fantasy on its flip-side, “hero softens and loves her and only her” The last two the author hits on some actual substance but alas, he stops at the surface, sex. If it’s not understood by now that while men yes love sex that that it’s far more than just sex, well…I don’t know what. I think you’re misunderstanding my comment a bit. I’m not saying his money and fame are what attracts the likes of Kim or Arianna. I meant very first time, popping that cherry. Man, I was a dork…but nah, still I think once you nail (ha!) down your partner’s rhythm, figure out what she likes (turn ons, kinks), where to touch, how to do it juuuuust right…that moment when you’re in synch is the best

Just to make sure we aren’t talking past each other or arguing the same thing: a dollar tends to follow the path of least resistance, just like anything else - meaning market demand or a differentiator. Edit: it’s not men/ownership dictating what the demand is

Good question. Emphasize team-player type stuff in response to questions, even if you don’t mean it. When asked about yourself work in lines about curiosity, ongoing learning and development, and have a good answer ready for “where you see yourself in X years..”

I’m all for a women-lead/initiated/defined view of what women think is sexually attractive. Hey, whatever gets your motor started….but I think your reasoning is misplaced. Having worked dozens of business cases, it’s the money that dictates the direction we go, it’s not a cabal of old rich men shoving anything down anyone’s throat, the owners at the top are mostly just rubber stamping the work people have done beneath them. It’s data driven not “I want women to want this so let’s throw a bunch o…

Hmmm…I wouldn’t open it. I would get in contact with their client relations department and confirm they actually sent you a document. If it’s legit, I would be shocked. This is terrible logical access and data management. I should never know my clients’ passwords or have any access to their account, nor use confidential data for this purpose. Some roles may be able to read client data from back end systems, but that should be controlled, logged and audited.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/21 06:26 PM

Sounds a little dubious. There really should be a randomly generated password emailed to you, or link or something. Like… you know this sender has your zip code and birthday, for sure? I deal in a lot of confidential client documents for banking/ Wealth management, and never would I ever accept such an encryption system. Generally not a good practice to use client confidential date in their own password. As the vendor, I should never know your password.

Reward the good, ignore the bad is unfortunately the most effective way to reinforce the behaviours you want to see. I don’t think scolding someone for loading the dishwasher “incorrectly” (and is that really such a huge offence?) Is going to achieve anything other than further resentment on both ends. It’s just going to add to the feeling of having to parent your spouse, not reduce or eliminate it. Expressing basic gratitude comes right from Gottman, it’s oddly contagious and once you start say…

You’d be surprised how far a simple thank you can go. Yeah, we’re all adults and should just know we need to do basic chores. But it takes no effort on our part to recognize when someone has done something to make our life a little simpler, liked flipped that load of laundry to the dryer or noticed some dishes were piling up in the sink and washed them. “Thanks for doing the dishes”, that’s it. It says I noticed and appreciate you. It’s almost literally the least you can do for some one you love…

That’s your more immediate social circle. Surely that circle knows other single people and you have a greater chance of not only meeting but being able to benefit from some social proof (your friend’s wife tells her single friend how great you are, for instance) and opportunity to show off qualities that pics on a dating app can’t show or show well. A house party at a friends place is a more comfortable environment for women than some meat market happy hour.

Like I said above, not an assistant mom to be delegated to, or a “helper” but an equal parent. I may not handle a situation or an interaction the way a woman might, I might value different activities and ways of bonding with my son that a woman or mom wouldn’t. Example: a lot of men can enjoy an activity together without saying anything much to each other or even appear to be together at all. Using Japan as a “canary in a coal mine” for western societies is basically useless. Far too many differences in family, work and sexual culture and mores. More importantly, recent economic events, especially post-bubble Japan play a far more important role in why more men are becoming “freeters” or shoushoku danshi/herbivores.
