It really does depend on the subject. My earlier classes involved massive amounts of people and a lot of memorization so professors had to rely on multiple choice. But my later classes were more about applying that knowledge to the bigger picture and had class sizes as small as 12 (versus 50-200) so multiple choice tests were not ideal, and didn't allow for partial credit. You just have to memorize so much for bio and chem that you never really have to move past the memorization, versus somethin…

That's not true for stem courses. Engineering in particular is about problem solving, so for a given problem there are plenty of ways of finding an answer. This means that most test in my experience we're open ended and graded by ta's.

The great thing about homeschooling is that kids can pursue what they want to. If you're in public school and like math but hate everything else, you're miserable for 4/5 of the day at least. If you're homeschooled, your parent can teach you math for 90% of the day and then go over the other material quickly. School was at least 80% busy work for me before 9 the grade. Homeschooling can get rid of the busy work and concentrate on the material the child is actually interested in.

I just want to make the point that with teachers, it really only takes one or two good teachers to change everything. The earlier you get a good teacher, the less any bad teachers you have matter. To add to this, a lot of this is on the parents. Too many adults not giving a shit about their kids and not able to help them with grade school math.

That's the whole point of most religious texts isn't it? Wrap good messages in a fairytale so that people wont eat meat most likely to get them sick and they won't kill each other so the society can actually get some shit done.

I don’t think the cheater should be the one winning in any situation. If a woman is fighting her impulse and staying loyal, why should she be punished? Same goes for relationships where the woman cheats. If she has the time to cheat, she has the time to work.

At least with a trade you can be working for yourself in 5-10 years. It’s a lot easier to run a plumbing or construction business than an engineering firm with limited experience.

I saved a ton of money going to community college in NY and was much better prepared for writing reports than many of my colleagues. Go the extra step and read your textbooks and take notes and you’ll get as good an education at the community college as the 4 year.

you can draw more from this though. Take the length of time divided by the cosine of the angle and you can get the figurative work required (length of the line). The bigger the angle, the more work required. A line traveling to the same x coordinate (time period) at 85 degrees is going to be a hell of a lot longer than one at 5 degrees.
