My problem was that the way the original person I responded to phrased his comment made it seem like he was making a blanket statement about all women. When you say "I like food" or "I like dogs", we understand that this doesn't apply to ALL food or ALL dogs. However, when making a comment about a group of people, saying somenthing like "Women are more emotional than logical" or "White people are stupid" doesn't seem to leave much room for exceptions. A) I don't think saying 'Women are emotional first, logical second' is an accurate generalization, and I fail to see any evidence to believe it is. B) You don't have to make generalizations like that. Yes, some things do apply to a certain group of people, but not all of them. For example, women are less physically strong than men on average.
