Again, can't remember much detail but I'm pretty sure she loved it and stayed with him because he showed his true inner weakness or some shit like that. Even in the early chapters he didn't strike me as truly red...just annoying and over bearing. It's pretty hard to get an analogy from because it's so badly written, the characters just aren't truly human, too much of a jumbled mess of contradicting personality traits.
